Chapter 651: 12.53 Unknown Star – Modern ABO World: First Case – Failure

Jie Yun frowned when he saw a man come out of his elder sister’s house. He knew that the victims of the killer were usually single parents or widowed pregnant ladies.

The man said, “Yes, please wait. Eh? Police officers? Is there another problem again?”

“Who are you?” asked Jie Yun with an icy tone of voice.

Officer Shen standing beside Jie Yun answered his question, “It’s the victim’s husband. He had just returned and reconciled with the victim.”

Jie Yun, “....”

Officer Shen spoke to the victim’s husband and explained the situation to him. In fear, the victim’s husband welcomed the police inside the house afraid that the serial killer would visit their house next.

“Actually, we are not supposed to tell you this but... That serial killer was killed once again tonight. He is on the run as our comrades are out there searching all over for him. We were worried he would come over to target your wife. Can you let us inside?” said Officer Shen.

.....

The victim’s husband nods his head and lets the police officer and Jie Yun inside the house. Jie Yun didn’t notice the weirdness of the interaction between the two men as he was more frightened by the fact of meeting his foster elder sister from his childhood. They entered the house together to meet the last surviving victim.

Once Jie Yun had entered the house, he suddenly felt that his feet were heavy especially when a woman with a familiar face went over at the door to welcome them.

The woman asked, “Husband, who came over? Ah~ Mr. Police Officer and... Who is this, Sir?”

‘It is really her. Elder Sister. I need to talk to her alone.’ Thoughts of Yun Jie upon seeing the face of the lady who suddenly appeared.

“I am also one with the Police. I am surnamed Jie and named Yun. I dropped by to check up on your safety. The serial killer was on the run again. I would like to ask a few questions about the case with you alone. Would that be possible?”

Officer Shen spoke, “Then I will guard the door of the house.”

“Let me accompany you, Officer. Wife, you can speak with this sir about the case. It is very dangerous to hear that another woman was once again killed. Your life would never be peaceful unless the serial killer was caught.” said the victim’s husband.

The lady of the house reluctantly nodded her head and said, “Officer, please follow me. I will tell you everything I know in my room.”

“Thank you,” said Jie Yun.

The lady and Jie Yun head to the other room to talk about the case while Officer Shen and the victim’s husband stay in the living room. As soon as the two went inside the room, Doctor Shen fell weakly on the couch. He could feel the throbbing pain in his right shoulder.

“Agh! You... Get me bandages, a first aid kit!” ordered Doctor Shen.

The victim’s husband was shocked, “You... You were injured! Tsk! Wait here! I’ll go get what you need.”

While the husband of the house owner left to get a medical kit, Doctor Shen headed to the bathroom and sat down inside the bathtub without the police uniform. He still needs to wear it again as a disguise. While seated in the tub, the handmade bandages he used from an article of ripped clothing were now soaked in blood.

When Hei Yuhua stabbed the tip of the needles on his shoulder, he didn’t hesitate at all to use strength at that time.

Doctor Shen checked on his wound and was relieved to see that his bone wasn’t damaged but the wound is a bit too deep that the tip of that umbrella almost passed through his right shoulder. He used the things the victim’s husband had given to him. He let the running water flow to flash the blood from his wound leaving no trace of these injuries. It took a while for him to completely stop the bleeding and wrapped his right shoulder with thick bandages to avoid the scent of blood.

He then recalls Wei Lou and Hua Heiyu whom he just bumped into in the alleys and was almost caught by these two.

Doctor Shen murmured, “That undercover police thug officer is not a problem. He is quite skilled in close combat and has a good instinct but he can be controlled. The problem is the young man in hoodies... He is definitely an omega but my pheromones did not affect him. Plus, that strength and accuracy. He is also a man who has been killed multiple times. If I didn’t dodge the umbrella the one it would have been my head. If he didn’t hurt his feet he would have been able to capture me. I can’t stay here for long. Though that man called Jie Yun also looks like an omega, there is a bit of blood scent on him. It would be bad if he is the same as that young man in hoodies.”

When he finished treating his wound and bathing, Doctor Shen returned to the living room and spoke with the victim’s husband.

“Are you done? Don’t leave traces of blood in the bathroom. We will be caught if the police investigate this house. By the way, where did you get that police uniform?” asked the man, the victim’s husband.

Doctor Shen responded, “Got the clothes outside. Killed an officer in the alley. His body should be found tomorrow morning. I will leave at dawn. But is there something I need you to do for me?”

“What is it? You better give me more money for this!” said the man.

Doctor Shen suddenly approached as if he was going to whisper something to the man. The victim’s husband wasn’t on guard as he had been this person’s accomplice all this time. He went back to this house to spy on the second victim’s situation. It was Doctor Shen you paid him money to do it.

As Doctor Shen leans over as if simultaneously a knife was stabbed at the man’s heart while on the other hand, Doctor Shen covers the mouth of the man preventing him from screaming.

With an evil smirk on his face, he watches as his accomplice dies under his knife.

“You are only useful when dead. Sleep forever, bastard,” whispered Doctor Shen.

Doctor Shen had a sad childhood. After his mother is gone his father becomes a drunkard and abusive as time passes. He would always beat up his son whenever he was lacking booze to drink and would also beat him up when he drank too much. His childhood was extremely sad and unfortunate. This continued for years until Doctor Shen wasn’t able to hold back.

But everything ended one night, his father was dragging him away to be sold for money in the brothel but dumped into a doctor on the way. His father wanted to con the doctor for money and decided to fake an injury when he intentionally bumped into the doctor. But who would expect that instead of getting money out of the doctor he lost his life instead?

This is the first generation of a serial killer called Doctor Shen. He kills for fun and wouldn’t even hold back at killing anyone he hated. He is the most unreasonable Serial Killer of modern times. This was also the doctor who adopted the current Doctor Shen and inherited his mantle as a killer.

But this old man died of terminal disease, he died last year after teaching everything he knew to his adopted son. The current Doctor Shen is this Killer’s foster son and he continued his legacy of acting as a savior by killing people. To these madmen, death under their knives is salvation. They are saving people through death. That’s what lunatics do.

Doctor Shen dragged the body of the husband of the victim and threw him in the bathroom. He filled the bathtub with running water and threw the corpse in there. Then he made preparations to kill his final prey but before that, he needed to kill Jie Yun first.

“That omega is the way. I need to at least make sure he isn’t armed before killing him...” murmured Doctor Shen.

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Ye Yuyan and the rest who had to regroup in the suburbs did not include Jie Yun. Once they heard he went to the second victim’s house to protect her, no one disagreed with it.

They failed to catch the killer they are pursuing but everyone was surprised to hear Hua Heiyu being able to hurt the murderer to save Wei Lou. Prosecutor Ye Yuyan’s face was not good when he heard what happened to Wei Lou. He knew that despite having the chance to catch the killer Hua Heiyu didn’t run after the man.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan asked, “Why didn’t you run after him?”

“My feet hurt. Can’t run,” answered Hua Heiyu.

“Are you kidding me!? You let a serial killer who killed more than 20 people because your feet hurt!?” said Prosecutor Ye Yuyan.

He thought this man was making excuses to play around more about the case or he is too lazy to run and let the serial killer go. As an extremely righteous police officer, Ye Yuyan hates people who waste the time of people and cause many deaths that can be prevented.

Impatience can be heard in his voice, “I told you can’t run,” said Hua Heiyu as he was disappointed at his husband’s reaction. It wasn’t intentional that he didn’t run after the killer at that time. He just couldn’t run after him as he wished to.

Officer Ying Wu didn’t want to hear Hua Heiyu’s explanation as he felt he did the wrong thing as well. That was until he saw his white shoes covered in both mud and blood.

“What happened to your feet!? It’s bleeding so bad! Take off your shoes, Heiyu!” Exclaimed Officer Ying Wu.

Hua Heiyu said, “I don’t want to. It hurts a lot.”

“What are you saying!? Look how much blood your shoes are soaked through!” said Officer Ying Wu. He wanted to remove Hua Heiyu’s shoes as he went to him and kneel down to check on his feet.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan and Wei Lou finally remembered something. There are only two cars available for their team. One is the car of Prosecutor Ye and the other is the police car of Officer Ying Wu. The first one to leave at that time was Prosecutor Ye Yuyan, Wei Lou, and Officer Ying Wu using his car.

“You didn’t come with Jie Yun to the district? Did he leave alone to head to the victim’s house? How did you get to the district without a car and in the middle of a heavy rain!?” asked Wei Lou.

Hua Heiyu answered, “Walking. I tried to wait for a car to give me a lift by the highway but there were no cars at all. I can only walk all the way to the slums district for a few hours.”

“What!?” Exclaimed the three police officers.

“Ahh! Your feet... Your skin has ruptured in many places and your toenails are broken. If not treated it might get infected. Just how long did you walk on feet without rest. Let’s go to the hospital and get...”

Officer Ying Wu’s words were cut off as Prosecutor Ye Yuyan suddenly walked toward them and carried Hua Heiyu in his arms to the car. He didn’t even wait for the other two to come with them as he drove to the highway.

On the way to the hospital, there is a suffocating atmosphere inside the car. Hei Yuhua was staring outside the car window looking at the flashing scenery before him. He was ignoring his husband as he felt disappointed at his reaction today.

Prosecutor Ye Yuyan was peeking at his wife and knew he had disappointed him and this hurt his wife a lot.

“Yu’er, I... I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. This is not your fault.”

“I... I didn’t mean to grab your collar just then and... I shouldn’t have blamed you just now.”

“I know. I already know that you prioritize your work, and the civilians even above your own self. Since I’ve longed to know, I have never blamed you for it. That just now... I had no other choice but to walk. Not only were there no cars on the road, I had no money to hire a cab. It was my decision to walk all the way. Don’t blame yourself... But... I’m sorry I wasn’t able to catch him for you. But he shouldn’t kill for now as I wounded his dominant arm.”

“...”

“By the way, I forgot to give the phone back to Officer Ying Wu. He left it behind before. You should return it to him. As for A’Jie, I feel a bit unease. Tell Brother Lou and Officer Ying Wu to go to the victim’s house to meet A’Jie there. That killer... He is not only trained but also a professional. Tell them to be... Careful!”

Brakes!

The car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road, surprising Hei Yuhua. Thankfully, he had worn the seat belt or he would have flown head first in the space in front of him.

Hei Yuhua complained, “Hey! Drive carefully!!!”

When he turned around to complain at Ye Yuyan, he was suddenly pulled into a hug and heard the Prosecutor whisper like a cry in his ears.

“I’m sorry. I promise... It would never happen again. Don’t get angry, Yu’er. I was wrong.” whimpered Ye Yuyan as he hugs his wife. His voice is full of remorse.

Hei Yuhua didn’t respond but his current emotions didn’t look good either. The disappointment in his heart was a bit too overwhelming. Tears strolled down his face uncontrollably despite the coldness of his face. He was so used to hiding his disappointment and pain that when Ye Yuyan suddenly gave him warmth, he couldn’t help but shed tears.

His tears were like knives stabbing Ye Yuyan’s heart. Ye Yuyan didn’t want the past to repeat all over again. In his heart, he decided to make his mate his topmost priority above anything. But as a civil servant, could he even keep that promise?
