Jie Yun followed the only surviving target of the serial killer of the case they are currently handling. The victim was about to retell the information she knew to the officer only to be surprised to see that this man named Jie Yun suddenly changed in appearance once she turned around to look at him. But what surprised her is not that this person can see his face but instead that very familiar face that matches the one in her mind.

The long-lost younger brother she had been looking for all this time. If not because she was pregnant and is targeted by a serial killer, his pursuit of looking for this younger brother of hers would continue. They separated when they were very young but they love each other as real siblings. The two didn’t want to get separated but the man who wanted to adopt Yun Jie only wanted him after learning that the boy is a genius when it comes to computers.

Yun Jie was taken despite his disagreement and she wasn’t even allowed to visit him as if the man who adopted Yun Jie had cut him off from the whole world. As more years passed by, she believed that her younger brother had been sold by the orphanage to that bad man. So she tried all means to know where Yun Jie had been brought and even secretly entered the dean’s office to check on Yun Jie’s information. She only saw the district name and nothing more was written. Thinking that her younger brother was in danger, she escaped from the orphanage and went to the district that was written on her younger brother’s file.

But never would she expect to have an even harder life outside the orphanage. She can only live by stealing to buy food. If she got caught she would be beaten up. She learned the hardship of living in a city with no one to lean on. It was by then that her elder sister had taken her home. The young lady who brought her home isn’t even wealthy. It can be said that she is very poor but she could at least feed the two of them with her job.

At that time, she finally felt once again how to live with a loved one, a family perhaps is the right word. This elder sister of hers is very kind. When she told her that she came to the city to look for her younger brother, she helped her post some missing flyers all over the district. But as time passed, no one still came to her to tell her news about her younger sister. Then that gruesome night happened, just when she and her elder sister were just celebrating her future nephew or niece, her beloved elder sister was killed by a robber.

The police deemed the matter as a robbery case but only she knew that the murderer had come to their house and targetted her sister and her unborn child. It was a nightmare she would never forget in her life. After she lost her elder sister and her only family, she lived her life as a waste. A man saves her from her misery. She thought that the man was her salvation and gave everything to him. She surrendered even herself only to be left behind like a used rag. It was at that moment that she realized that she can only live her life alone. No one would really help her, the people whom she loves either are fakes or had long left the world. She even forgets her missing younger brother as time passes. So when he heard that the orphanage she used to live in had been closed due to certain circumstances, she no longer felt anything.

Then a new change in her life appeared. She was just living her life waiting for her death to come when she suddenly got the news from the famous Doctor in their slums area that she was pregnant. Her pregnancy brought happiness to her life. This unborn child would be her source of happiness and her only family after losing both her elder sister and younger brother. But before she could celebrate, as if fate is playing with her, news about that former serial killer had started once again. Her nightmares from last year started returning and they would hunt her dreams every night. Until finally the police came to her place saying they would protect her in exchange for her giving information about anything she could remember in the case she was involved in a year ago.

It was a police officer who introduced himself as Ying Wu who came over to her house with his team. At first, she was frightened by their sudden arrival but remembering what this officer had said on the phone, she knew that they were sent here to protect her from the serial killer. She honestly told Officer Ying Wu everything she knew. but neither would she have expected that the most probable suspect as that serial killer happened to be Doctor Shen who was kind enough to provide her free supplements. Moreover, the Shen Clinic is very famous in the slums district, she couldn’t believe what Officer Ying Wu had deduced.

Because if it was the Shen Clinic who killed those girls from the news including the ones from the last, doesn’t that mean it was she who had become the tool of murder that had killed her elder sister. She only told them their address just in case her elder sister wanted to get an in-house check-up for her baby. Yun Jie and the lady hugged each other after all this time. Her tears fall down from her eyes like a waterfall and her grip on Yun Jie’s clothes are like eagle claws unwilling to let him go.

“Xiao Jie. Xiao Jie. It is really you. I miss you so much!”

Yun Jie pats his elder sister’s back trying to calm her down.

“Su-Jie, calm down. I will explain everything to you okay?” he said.

It took a few minutes of coaxing for her to stop hugging Yun Jie, but her grip on his hands was strong and she wasn’t willing to be separated as if she is afraid that all of this is only a dream.

“Okay. You can tell me now. Tell me everything.”

Yun Jie nodded his head and told her everything that had happened in his life. That he was adopted by someone from the government and was trained to become a secret agent when he was young. Though he didn’t mention Aster, Yun Jie mentioned Hei Yuhua and their current situation. It might be a bit confusing and surreal for an ordinary person like the lady in front of Yun Jie but everything is a fact and she could only believe it.

“So you are saying you are currently working with the police and working as undercover agents to make a connection with that Red Poppy Organization? Then why are you working on Serial murder cases like the current one?”

“This is because my elder brother, Agent Hei, wanted to work with his husband together to capture this Red Poppy Organization. But Prosecutor Ye Yuyan is still a person with high standing and fame in the police headquarters, getting cold cases to solve as extra work was normal to him. After receiving the phone, he called for Officer Ying Wu as Hei Yuhua had no phone on him.

{This is Officer Ying Wu speaking. Is there a problem, Ms. Su?}

Yun Jie: “It’s me, Jie Yun.”

{Oh? Jie Yun? This number is Ms. Su. Are you in the victim’s house? Good. Good. Wei Lou and I are on our way.}

Yun Jie: “What are you talking about? Didn’t you just call me using an officer number just now?”

Yun Jie: “You left a few police officers to guard the victim right? Check their situation if they are all alive. There is something weird going on in the house. The possibility that the serial killer is now in the victim’s house is large. Immediately, come over to back me up.”

Another male voice which is different from Officer Ying Wu’s voice can be heard in the call. It was Wei Lou who stole the phone from the owner.

{A’Jie, don’t engage in a fight with that suspected killer in the house. The murderer is a professional one. I will be there in 10 minutes.}

Wei Lou had a serious expression and his mood didn’t look good. The call was ended by him one-sidedly. Beside him, Officer Ying Wu did what Yun Jie had asked him. Officer Ying Wu said, “Two against one. Jie Yun is in danger. Step on the gas!!!”

Who would have thought it was Yun Jie who would answer the phone and say that the murderer might be in the house of the victim hiding from the police.
