Chapter 222: Sending a Message

The goal in hiring a mercenary are usually split into two types. To hire a mercenary to protect one’s life and act as bodyguard, or to harm someone. As soon as they complete their deal, mercenaries go into hiding while making sure they have as little to do with the incident as possible. People who worked for money only were usually like that.

“Actually, there is one more thing I need to report to you.”

Basil stuck out his hand and showed what he was holding to Igor. There was a small stone shining with white light on his hand.

“… This is Arc’s stone.”

“This stone was hidden in many crevices around the residence of the queen.”

Igor’s face grew cold. If it’s about Arc’s stone, he knew many things about it. And therefore he knew very well what happens when it is placed in any place and left there.

“Were they aiming to create an explosion in the palace grounds? Aiming for Rihannan?”

Arc’s Stone was famous for being as much precious stone as they are difficult to preserve. If it is left alone and receives way too much sunlight, it explodes and destroys the surroundings. Therefore these minerals was always made sure to always kept in a place where no light will reach right after it is mined.

“It seems so. While I was preoccupied with Madam Viscount Olbach that I…”

Basil’s voice was filled with guilt. After hearing report about a suspicious woman being found, Basil immediately stalked after the woman. After capturing her as she attempted to murder the queen, he tried to search for the men that came in together with her, but they’ve already escaped by that time. But then he realized that was not the end of things. Bringing the Arc’s Stones inside of the palace grounds wouldn’t have been tough either, since they were commonly used for many different purposes.

“Just how many more of these are left inside the palace grounds?”

“We’re currently searching, but if we start searching by large-scale, the queen will realize what is happening.”

Igor quietly bit into the inside of his mouth. He didn’t want to make her worried when she’s currently pregnant.

Basil carefully spoke again.

“So I’ve done some thinking about it, how about sending the queen to the royal villa for a while, your majesty?”

Hearing the sudden suggestion, Igor stared at Basil.

“To the royal villa?”

“Yes. I think it would best to send her to the royal villa for a moment until the search around the place is complete and that it’s confirmed that it’s all safe. It will be hard to hide the fact that we’re searching for it while she’s inside the palace grounds after all. I’ve also heard from Madam Sessly that the queen would benefit from a change of pace and environment.”

Igor frowned his eyebrows. If he could, he wanted the queen to stay inside the queen’s palace. It may have been fine if it was back when she didn’t know anything, but how would he be able to send her when she knows what the queen mother had done now?

However, Igor soon realized that there was nothing else but accepting Basil’s suggestion. Although Rihannan may not have a great sentiment to the queen mother since she now knows what she had done, but there was no where else more safe than the royal villa, barring the palace grounds. On top of that, once the queen mother realizes that Rihannan was pregnant, she would be overjoyed and take care of her with love and kindness.

He let out a long sigh.

“All right. Send a message to queen mother. That Rihannan had became pregnant and wishes to rest and recuperate in the royal villa for a while.”
