Chapter 202 - A chance at breaking them apart

Angela squinted her eyes at the news. "Both friends?" She asked again, hoping she didn't hear wrong.

Sharon nodded her head.

"How are you so sure? I mean how exactly did you find out?" Angela asked.

"I discovered at the banquet. I am well aware of Timothy's personality. He likes the girl for sure." Sharon said.

"You said he was a player, am I wrong?" Angela asked, not seeming to get the point.

"He likes women, but will never be controlled by them. He let that boy go because of her, which was unusual. And I noticed the way he looks at her, it was different from his flirty look." Sharon analysed.

Angela pondered over it for a while. She wasn't interested in hurting Clara but hoping her friend could still get a chance.

Tim was just as wealthy as Leonard. Both were very good looking as well.

If Clara gets together with Tim, then it's still fair.

"If that is the case, then I think there is a chance at breaking them apart." She spoke and Sharon looked into her eyes with her gaze full of hope.

"Yeah, babe. Just help the other friend get the girl and you stick with CEO Raymond." Angela said.

Sharon gave it a thought and wondered how to make that work. Time isn't easy to trick.

But could let himself be tricked since it's related to Clara.

The question now was if Tim would be willing to snatch Clara from Leo, if the opportunity arose.

She will just have to wait and see.

*****

Leo was in his office, working on some files when his cell vibrated. He absentmindedly picked it up and still had half his mind on the doc.u.ments in front of him, before he caught a glimpse of the sender.

A smile bloomed on his face before viewing the inbox message from Ella.

'Can you please send me your girlfriend contact info?' That was the content of the message.

Leo's smile deepened.

'You decide to start talking to me now?' Leo replied with an emoji of a thinking person.

'Hello! Girlfriend contact please!' Ella replied with an eyes rolled emoji.

'How is your skin? Back to normal? Why do you lock yourself in and not let your security allow anyone in?' Leo asked.

'Hey! Girlfriend contact please!!!!!!!.' She replied, totally ignoring his questions.

'Fine! Seems like you still need more time to come around. I will forward you her info now.' Leo replied.

'I'm not saying thanks.' Ella replied and he chuckled.

He sent her the contact information and added a kiss emoji to tease her.

'Gross, just like your brain that brought up the idea of sharing my home address and contact information.' She replied.

****

After getting the contact information, Ella slumped onto her couch and dialed Clara's number.

"Hi Clara, it's Ella." She said, as her call got connected.

Clara was shocked to receive a call from her because Ella hadn't called her once before. She wondered why now.

"How are you doing now?" Clara asked.

"All well and good. The scars left by themselves, believe me I would have freaked out, if I wasn't aware of its nature in the first place." Ella said in her usual carefree tone.

"That's how it should be." Clara replied.

"All thanks to you guys. If not for you all, it wouldn't be so. I need your help with something, please." Ella said.

"How can I help?" Clara asked.

"That memory control thing. Can you make me stop thinking about someone?" Ella asked.

Someone? Could it be that Reuben had managed to break through her walls? Clara thought but still maintained a straight tone.

"Is that someone Reuben?" Clara asked

"Yeah. That guy is so annoying. I can't get him out of my head." Ella said, feeling frustrated, because instead of forgetting Rueben, he kept sneaking into her mind.

She was getting so helpless with the whole distraction and hoped to erase him from her mind.

"Hmm, if it's about him, then I'm sorry I can't help." Clara said and before she could plead with her, she ended the call.

"Hey!" Ella exclaimed and stared at her phone in surprise.

"Did she have to end the call?" She thought.

Even though she called Clara, she had already dressed up with the bag containing the clothes Rueben left behind.

She was just wondering if there's a chance to stop herself from doing this. If Clara had agreed, she would just forget that the guy existed.

She got up and stepped out of her house. She needed to face him today.

Actually she wanted to see his annoying face that was disturbing her mind.

....

Reuben had just returning home from work and had his shower.

He was preparing his dinner when he heard a knock at his door and wondered who it could be, because he rarely had visitors.

He removed his apron and headed towards the door to check who it was and on getting there, his heartbeat quickened at the sight of Ella.

She's really here?

She came!

His inside marvel in joy and the butterfly in her stomach flaps their wings.

He still maintained his cool, though. He didn't want Ella to give him the two years younger sermon again.

It really hurts when she mentioned it as a flaw for why he should stop dreaming of having her. He is a man after all.

She looked so beautiful and still a bit pale from the stress of her sickness. Her lips kept nude and makeup lightly, yet it was like he was staring at an angel.

He kept staring at her and she did the same.

He smiled at her before opening his mouth. "Hi!" He said.

Ella stretched out her left palm, handing to him a small bag. "Here you go. I came to return your hoodie." She said.

Reuben stared at the bag and then back at her.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Of course." She replied but her heart was running a marathon.
