CH 19

On October 30, 3020, the criminal investigation held a case analysis meeting in the conference room.

Jiang Chengyan looked at everyone and said, “Do you have anything else to add?”

Seeing everyone shaking their heads, Jiang Chengyan continued, “since you guys are done, it’s my turn now. Yesterday, Su Ke and I went to the Balong Bar and met Kong Fang, the owner of the bar.  We unexpectedly found out that Kong Fang was Jiang Changping’s gay partner.

Everyone was in an uproar, and they never expected that the person they were looking for would be found so easily by Jiang Chengyan. Yao Min smiled and said, ” Our captain is worthy of being the captain. He found that mysterious third person so easily. How about it, is this Kong Fang handsome?”

Jiang Chengyan was stunned, “damn girl, is your focus wrong?”

“This is not a curiosity. Most bar owners are handsome guys, and Jiang Changping was not bad-looking before his death. The lover he found should be no different.”

“Whether he is handsome or not, it has nothing to do with you.” Jiang Chengyan glanced at Yao Min in amusement. He pondered for a while before continuing, “Jiang Changping’s so-called business trip was actually with Kong Fang. The reason why he bought things near Guangmei district was because Kong Fang’s family has a residence there, where they often meet. After leaving home on the 20th, Jiang Changpin drove to Guangmei Community. They left together at 8 pm on the 22nd. Kong Fang returned to Hemei district, and Jiang Changping disappeared.”

“They separated at 8 pm on the 22nd, and Jiang Changping was killed from 10 to 11 pm. If what Kong Fang said is true, then the murderer cannot be Kong Fang.”

Jiang Chengyan nodded and said, “I have retrieved the surveillance videos of the two districts separately.  I can confirm that Kong Fang did leave Guangmei community at 8:00 and returned to the Heimei community around 9:00. Until the next morning at 8:20, he left the Heimei community and drove alone to Ancheng.”

“Ancheng?”

“Yes, Ancheng. He stayed at the Xingdu Hotel that day, went to eat with his friends at 6 pm in the evening before returning to the hotel at about 8 pm, and never went out again. Until noon on the 24th, his friend found out that he had a high fever and was sent to the hospital. When I contacted him, he was still in the hospital with pneumonia caused by a high fever and with pneumothorax. I have asked my colleagues in Ancheng to help verify these circumstances and Kong Fang’s suspicions are basically cleared.”

Yao Min said with a frown, “If it was like that, whether it was for money or because of  love, Li Qiu Ran is still the biggest suspect.”

Liu Ran said, “But she also has an alibi. Don’t forget that after six pm in the evening on the 22nd, she never went out again.”

Everyone fell silent. The three most suspected people were Li Qiuran, Kong Fang, and Jiang Cheng. The tree of them also had an alibi. Although Li Qiuran and Kong Fang had no witnesses, the surveillance video showed that neither of them had gone out at the time when the crime happened.

“Wait, we missed something.” Seeing everyone’s attention, Jiang Chengyan continued, “We missed the first crime scene. Li Qiuran and Kong Fang have never been out, but that doesn’t mean Jiang Changping didn’t go to them.”

“Captain means Jiang Changping went back home? But it’s impossible. I watched the surveillance videos and Jiang Changping’s car did not enter and exit the Heping Community on the night of the 22nd.  If Jiang Changping appeared in the surveillance video, Impossible for me not to recognize it. Could it be that he went to Kong Fang’s place?” Yao Min asked questions.

“It’s impossible. Kong Fang went to Ancheng early on the 23rd and didn’t come back until the 29th. There’s no time to dump the body.” Li Tong spouted his opinion.

Liu Ran said, “Maybe there’s someone else who dumped the body, so he can be completely ruled out as a suspect?”

Jiang Chengyan said,  “I watched the surveillance video of Hemei Community. I can confirm that Jiang Changping has never been to Hemei  Community. At least in our existing data, he has not appeared.”

Yao Min asked in confusion, “Captain, what do you mean?”

“I just suggested one possibility, but there is still another possibility.”

Zhang Liang asked loudly, “Captain, I have always had a question. Why did the killer drive the car back to Guangmei Community again after dumping the body?”

Li Tong replied, “Of course, they want to hide the car so we can’t check it, what else?”

“The murderer’s intention was to draw our attention to Kong Fang.” Wang Bin suddenly realized.

Liu Ran and Wang Bin, you go to verify the evidence of Jiang Cheng’s alibi and make sure there are no loopholes. Li Tong and Zhang Liang, you should check the surveillance of Heping Community. Do not miss any videos as long as it is two hours before and after the incident. Guo Hai and Chen Miao, you go to check the surveillance video of the Heimei Community, although the possibility of Kong Fang committing a crime is not high, to avoid errors in judgment, it was necessary to completely eliminate the suspicions on him. Seeing everyone answering one after another, Jiang Chengyan nodded, “This time the task is a bit heavy, everyone holds on to it. I always feel that we are not far from closing the case.”

“Yes, captain.”

“Section Qin, how is it? Did you find anything on that car?”

Qin An handed a dozen documents to Jiang Chengyan, “You can see for yourself.”

“A lot of fingerprints were found in the car. There were ten people in total. Those identified were Jiang Changping, Li Qiuran, Jiang Xiaohan, Jiang Cheng, Kong Fang, Li Li, and Gao Ping. The remaining three fingerprints did not match in the database.”

“A set-up? It seems this murderer really hates Jiang Changping and Kong Fang to the bone.”
