Chapter 178 - Could You Do It?

New York airport.

After a twenty-hour flight, finally, Raymond returns back to his usual life. He inhales deeply before he exhales it and strides to the exit. There's a limo that already awaits for him as he informs one of his bodyguards.

He didn't go back to his apartment, instead, he straight going to the main mansion. There's someone he would like to meet right now. The journey from the airport to the main mansion took around forty minutes and when he arrives, it's already 11 am.

Most of the people inside the mansion already out doing their business. Especially his mother which he guesses is not in New York for the time being. She probably in Paris right now with Sarah, shopping for his 'wedding' preparation. It's only three weeks before he truly marries Sarah.

When he arrived, his father was at his golf club and Liam was just about to go out with his family. He was a bit surprised to see Raymond coming to the main mansion.

"Raymond?" He said and stride to him. He thought that Raymond will be back on his wedding day, but who knows he returns earlier than he thought.

"Hey, um...I need to talk to you guys." He pats on Liam's arm before he averts his eyes to Sabrina and their son, Micheal, three years old.

Liam averts his eyes to his wife and Sabrina nods her head. "Sure." she agrees and when she was about to turn around, Raymond suddenly stops them.

"Wait. Not in the house." Raymond stated.

Both Liam and Sabrina look at each other. "Huh?"

"Let's go somewhere more quiet and fewer …people."

"Ookay." Liam wrapped his hand around Sabrina's shoulder before they went to his car. Liam was more comfortable with him driving rather than someone drive for him.

For him, it's more privacy and he like that way. Different from Raymond, ever since he awake five years ago, everywhere he goes must be escorted by his bodyguard that his mother assigned.

He just like a prisoner and had no freedom at all. After fifteen minutes he keeps silent in the car, he suddenly opens his mouth.

"I met Luna."

Liam's eyes turned wider and he immediately stops his car from running a red light. Sabrina also surprises and she covered her mouth with her palm before she pinched Liam's arm for sudden brake like that.

"Wh-what do you mean by met her?" Liam asked. Try adjusting his collar for a bit, nervous.

"You both don't have to hide anything from me. I know everything. She confessed to me and we.." Raymond rubs his face a few times, he looks so messy and dejected.

"She wants a divorce."

"And you agree?" Liam sighs and he glanced at Sabrina. She looks a bit guilty too. Maybe all these years when they decide to not say anything to him so that he can find his own answer is a bad decision after all?

But, it's not totally their fault too. Luna made them promise to not let him know about their child. Child! Right! If Raymond meets Luna then he must already know about their child, right?

Raymond nod helplessly. "All these years, I try to find her because I knew, I'm not in love with Sarah and I... I just can't erase her from my life. She wants a divorce to protect our child but I want her and my son and rebuild a new life with them.." He sniffles a bit. "What should I do?"

Sabrina pat on Raymond's shoulder. "Do you believe her? Every word that she confessed to you, do you believe her?"

"About my parents? About how they scheme against her and make her suffered?" Raymond sniffles again and nods his head. "Yeah... I can see it now. Just look at how they prisoning me with their cage."

"We're sorry. We just want to respect her decision and let you keep searching for her. Maybe if you heard by yourself from her rather than us, you'll believe it. After all, he's our father, you know." Liam sighs.

"Grandma once told me, that she could never kill her own son no matter how bad her son is. And when I had my own child, I know by what she means. But, our father is different a thing, Raymond."

"If…you want your life back, you had to get rid of your own blood, your parent and could you do it? Think wisely, Raymond. All these years, I try to bring justice and let the law take its course, but I had no proof. Everything has been wipe out and I couldn't find one flaw at all."

Raymond clenched his fist tightly. Liam's right, could he really do it? They're his family but they also the ones who destroy his happiness and his small family. This is a tough decision to make.

"Let's talk about this later." Liam drove the car to their destination. Trying to change the subject. "How is she?"

"Beautiful as ever."

Both Liam and Sabrina chuckled. He replies it in instant. "Have you met with your son?"

"Yep. He just looked like me. Really adorable."

It's been three days since Alex had a fever.

The doctor said that it was caused by the after effect when he was drowned last time but deep down inside, she knew, Alex must be missing his father and unable to accept it yet.

Luckily Brian still not returning to Seattle and he helps her with taking care of the kids when she goes to work. She inhales deeply and shut her eyes before someone draped a blanket around her shoulder.

"You look so depressed when he's gone. Are you sure you're okay with your decision?" Brian gives her a glass of hot coffee he made before he smiles at her.

Luna shakes her head. "I don't know, Brian."

He then put his hand around her shoulder and rub it a little. "Let's go back to the USA. I'll introduce you to my family and maybe with a new environment, you can finally move on?"

"But I-"

"If you worried about Alex's safety, you shouldn't. Once you know who I am, you'll know that no one dares to mess up with my family. Not even Wayne." He assures her and finally, Luna nodded her head.

"Give me time to hand in my resignation letter."

"Sure. I'll take care of the kids' school and stuff. So, you don't have to worry much, okay?"

Luna smile at him. "Okay."

"It's getting late now, let's get back inside. We don't want you to catch the flu, don't we?" Luna chuckles and shakes her head.

"You should return to your house too. Thank you for the.." She lifts up the glass he handed to her before. "Coffee."

"No worries. Good night Luna." He takes his coat and car keys before he waves his hand at her.

"Good night, Brian." Luna reply and once he was gone, Luna sit on the couch. Sipping the coffee.

"Will everything be okay?" She murmurs and looks at the ceiling. Thinking of Alex's feelings.

She feels sad too, feels the loss and hurt just like Alex but there's nothing she could do anymore to fix something that can't be fixed.
