Chapter 170 - She's Not My Wife.

Raymond rush to the morgue just after he landed and meet with Liam who already waiting for him in front of the door where's Luna's and his grandma's body were placed.

"Where's she?" He asked and take off his coat and glove to hand it to his new butler that has been assigned by his mother, Max.

"Inside," Liam replies with one word and stare at the man intensely. "Raymond," He calls him and Raymond stops his hands from pushing the door.

"You must be happy, aren't you? You don't have to torture her anymore to signing the divorce paper as she decides to leave you alone now." Raymond scrunched his eyebrow before Liam continue again, "So sad though, when you think you're happy, you were actually just lost something so important to you. The moment you lose her is the moment you'll regret for the rest of your life." Liam leaves him in the hallways and went back to his car.

Liam leaves Raymond froze for a couple of seconds before he finally pushes the door. There are two doctors inside the room and one police officer.

"Which one is my wife?" He asked the first question to the three of the man inside the room to which his butler seems a bit surprised.

He thought he would see for his grandmother first, but he wants to identify Luna's body first. One doctor went to the stretcher with a white cloth covering the body and slowly open it half.

"This is your wife, Mr. Wayne. Luna Wayne. " He lowered his head and let Raymond walk to the stretcher.

There are tears formed on his eyes but he tries to cover it so it would not fall any moment now. When he touched her face, he let out a soft sniffle, one by one his tears start to dripping down. Her face was half wrecked and he still can't see her clearly.

He trailing his hand down from her face to the body and all of the men inside the room averts their eyes from looking at the naked dead body. Thinking of why the heck he checks everything so details. He just needs to confirm the remaining face and not every single thing on her body.

To not make any mistake, the police officer steps forward when Raymond's hands place at her ribs. "Mr. Wayne, I suggest to not touch the deceased body. It is a bit disrespect to the dead."

Raymond was still sniffling and tilt his head a bit looking at her side of ribs, squinting his eyes, he looks around her breast and the officer clearing his throat afterward, uncomfortable with his act right now.

"Sir, I would-"

"She's not my wife." Raymond suddenly interjects the man and close back the body with cloth and took out his handkerchief to wipe his tears. He did cry for someone who's not even his wife.

"I'm sorry?" The police officer started to paled a bit. He peeks at the body and she clearly looks just like his wife, which part of her doesn't look like his wife? Even though half of her face can't be identified, but she still looks like his wife.

"She's not my wife. I know my wife's body and she's not her." Raymond walks back and forth but no one seems to believe him.

"No, sir. This is Mrs. Wayne. Your wife. They have died a few hours ago, the color of the complexion and her physical body might have changed due to the injury, but this is your wife. And here's.." He handed him a report and a test record from the lab.

"All of her DNA and description is match with your wife. I know this is difficult for you, but, there's no way someone would survive after falling from the rocky mountain. And, if you still want to identify your wife's butler, he's in here too." The officer leads him to a steel locker before he pulls it out.

A man who's not in a shape anymore makes him wanna puke and he immediately went far from the locker, covering his mouth with his palm. "Who's that?"

"Mr. Charles Carson. His father already confirming the body." The officer pushes the locker back and went to take his file for Raymond to sign on it.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Sir." He handed the file to the man and Raymond look hesitant to sign it. But after a moment, he signs it anyway and gives back to the man.

"I'm sure she's not my wife." Raymond murmur and leave the morgue. The funeral held after a week and Raymond was startled at first when his father decides to only do a funeral for his grandma and Luna was buried to the different graveyard. He was sad about how his family treats his wife. Even if she was a wife that he 'supposedly' not love or even like her, but she still holds a Wayne name at the back of her name after marrying him.

He wants to protest it but then Liam as the new head of Wayne clan decides to go along with it. He agrees to which Luna's identity is no need to be revealed and let things past just like that.

...

A month later, he decides to go to South Carolina, finding the truth starts from the mansion. He giving a reason to conduct a meeting in Atlanta while actually, he went to Beaufort himself, driving for about four hours straight from Atlanta.

He walks inside the house and he couldn't believe his eyes, he did the house design, but it was in his imagination and not thinking that it would come true one day. He went to the garden beside the living hall area and squinting his eyes a bit.

There's a sunflower garden but all of it has been neglected and some of it already die because no one nurturing it anymore, he saw there's dust covering the floor and a certain area showing that there's no one living in here anymore for at least a month and a half.

He went to his bedroom and look around all of her dress in the closet room and her accessories on the rack. Everything was normal like any other couple.

If he really doesn't love her, why would he let her have her item inside his bedroom? He walks out of the bedroom and tries to finds anything that he could find but there's nothing at all. Even the security camera also does not function anymore.

He roams over and over and found something that he hides under his desk. A book of diary and there's a lot of drawing there like a kid drawing. He's taken aback and open the diary. Hoping that there's something maybe he left as a clue.

But the book is about his daily routine, and almost all of it is about his work-related. On certain pages, there's a story written by him about Luna. But most of it is about how he annoyed her and bully her. He could tell that he was happy at that time.

He lost track of time and when it almost dark, he returns back to New York. Thinking of searching her and his own answer without ever telling his family. He knew something is off and he needs to find the answer to it.

It already November 2014,

~You have gone and so effortlessly,

You have won, you can go ahead tell them,

Tell them all I know now,

Shout it from the rooftops,

Write it on the skyline,

All we had is gone now,

Tell them I was happy,

And my heart is broken,

All my scars are open,

Tell them what I hoped would be impossible, ~

"Hey, …you should cover up yourself. It's a bit chilly now." Sabrina went to the patio and wrap her body with a blanket. Luna immediately takes off her earphone.

She turns around to her thanking her. "Thanks, Sabi. I think I wanna go somewhere before I finally go for my own good." She said which make Sabrina look at her.

"Where? I can accompany you but I must give notice-"

"No, I want to go alone. There's a place where he promised me that we'll go this year. This place is our secret base." She smiles at Sabrina and caresses her baby bump which already five months.

"Luna..you're pregnant and going somewhere that I don't know is quite dangerous, you know.."

"I know..but for the last time..please.." Luna said with her pleading eyes which Sabrina couldn't turn her down.

"Fine.. but I will accompany you halfway, okay? And you have to keep me update like every half an hour, deal?" She stares at her and Luna nodded her head.

"Deal."
