Chapter 38 - I'll Be Just Fine

Inside the car, Liam silently driving his Audi back to the hotel. He shrunks each second Sabrina glaring at him with a serious face. All other team member has returned to the hotel with another car.

"Is there something you want to confess to me, babe?" Sabrina broke the silence between them.

"Uh…such as?" He frowned a bit. Act of innocence.

"Such as..how did you 'blend well' with both of the infamous CEOs from the Wayne family?"

"Well, I-"

"You're not going the same school as them, I checked it already. You also not going to the same university, you live far away from both them, you only have your mother as far as I know. You don't have any dot to make a connection to them, unless…" She shot him with a daggered glare.

Liam gulp when she does that. 'uh-oh..she's in her rage mode.'

"Unless….you, fill the blank." She urges him with a threatening voice.

'Seems like I have no choice, then.' He felt like crying. He makes a U-turn and drives to the central park.

A few minutes later, he pulls over his car at the side parking.

"Alright, I'll explain it to you. But, before that. I need you to promise me one thing." He looked at her in the eyes. Her honey color eyes look so alluring.

She raises her eyebrow, asking him to state the condition.

"Do not get angry at me. I have my reason why I didn't tell anyone. Okay?"

"Okay." She replies it short.

"Let's go. Let's take a walk." He opens the car door and runs to the other side, open the car door for her before he locks the car.

Linking his arm with her, they both walk to the park together. They find a bench which is a bit farther than the other and there's also fewer people walk around there.

Sit down on the bench, he opens his mouth and then he closed it. Not knowing where to start it first. Sabrina still waiting patiently for him to tell her the truth.

"I am..one of the Wayne." He said it with one breath.

Sabrina blinks her eyes a few times and silent for at least thirty seconds before she gasps loudly and covers her mouth with her palm.

"You WHAT??" She's so surprised to hear that coming from Liam, all those years..she never thought that the person beside her is one of the Wayne. Not in a million years, she would think of those possibilities.

She shakes her head. "You're kidding, right? No way you're one of them."

Looking at her face, Liam shakes his head. "I am. I am the child that has been thrown away by my father, James Wayne."

"James Wayne?? You mean, you're…Raymond Wayne's brother? But.."

"Will you let me finish my story first?" Liam takes her hand and kisses her knuckles gently. Sooth her to listen to him before she jumps into the conclusion.

Slowly, Sabrina nods her head. She was so shocked that she forgot how Liam's feeling is, to tell something that he doesn't want to but have to, for her sake, he willing to tell her about his secret.

"My mother..marry James Wayne when she was young. Like another young couple, she was blind by my father's love. But the love they felt only last for two years and right at that moment, I was in my mother's womb. He divorced my mother, marry his current wife and abandon me and my mother.

"Years pass by, the one who provides me and my mother with money and education are none other than my grandmother, Victoria. She always brings me back to the main mansion every school break, Christmas until the new year. That is when I met all my cousins from Wayne. Some of them are nice to me, but some are not.

"My little brother is quite clingy to me when he was a child. Maybe because he wants a brother and to feel loved, both of his parents always busy with the work. When my stepmom know how clingy my little brother to me, she gets angry and releases her anger out to my mom.

"Years passed, I distant myself from the Wayne family to protect my mom. I'm grown and I don't want to hurt my mom by visiting them. So, once I finished high school, I take an exam at a university that is far away from here. But, my relationship with my little brother gotten worse.

"He thought that I hate him that I didn't come to the main mansion anymore. We both did not contact each other for very long years. I only in contact with Harry and Henry. Both of them were so energetic whenever I visit the main mansion. You know, we're like a sworn brother." He chuckles a bit.

"Ah, there is another person who always in contact with me beside the twins. Normally, she would tell me about my little brother. But I guess its been a while since last she contact me. And you know what…" he lowered his head and stare at the ground.

"My grandmother told me yesterday night, that my little brother got into an accident early this year and he..somehow not able to work anymore. His parents send him away from this city. They abandon him again." Small tears start to form in his eyes. Feeling guilty to not be there when he needs him.

Sabrina rubs behind his back and leans her head to his shoulder. This news is too big for her and it might be too hard for him to tell her about this too.

"I'm sorry..for asking you about this." She whispers to him. Hoping that he would forgive her.

"I want to go see him. But...I couldn't find the courage to do so.." He hoarsely said.

"I'll be there if you ever need me. You're not alone now, you have me." She hugs his shoulder.

Liam did not say anything. He then wipes his tears and hugs her back. There's a feeling like something huge has been lifted from his shoulder. He feels a lot calmer now.

He then remembers his grandmother's invitation last night.

"Ah, that's right."

"Hm?" She releases the hug and looked at the man in the eyes.

"This Christmas, I want to officially introduce you to my grandma and my little brother. Will you be alright with that?" He grasps on both of her hands, intertwined his finger with hers.

"Yes, I'll be just fine. So, let's meet them." She smiles back at him.
