Yue was still distraught and pissed off because of this mess they had gotten themselves into. This whole place was a freak circus. Every single kid in there was a test subject, but they were so strongly supporting Murong Shao as their hero. He did not have the internal story going around, but this behavior seemed like Stockholm syndrome.
he pranced around out of the campus.
He did not know why so many things about this place made him anxious.
First, it was the loss of their base, next meeting Murong Shao and his grandmother… now this... that monster, no that girl Lilly seemed to be fed only on zombie's brain.
The overwhelming power that girl had was still terrifying.
Tian walked up behind him and gently patted his back. "Calm down."
"I'm trying to…. This is all too different from what I saw.'
In his last life, everything was a mess. Back then he had only escaped the S city base and Murong Shao had sacrificed his life. But in this life, Murong Shao was here in G city in this damn prison with a bunch of kids.
"How did so many kids even survive…... Where did he find them…"
"We are all from the orphanage nearby," one of the brave kids that followed behind them mumbled softly and hid behind a wall.
Yue glanced at the young boy. "Is it close to the prison?"
"Hmm… most of us are from there. But some kids were from the crash." He said slowly, poking his head out from behind the wall.
The kid's pure golden eyes shone slightly as he peered up at Tian and Yue. "You both are very strong. Can you teach me how to be strong? I'll tell you everything if you promise me that,"
Yue glanced at Tian.
She nodded. "Deal, what crash are you talking about? the meteor?"
"No, the plane crash." He ran out and grabbed their hand.
His grip was soft but firm as he dragged them over to the back area of the prison.
To their surprise, Yue and Tian were met with a huge gigantic structure that was covered in a thick layer of foliage.
The kid ran up to it and pulled the plants and climbers that were covering it up.
It was a plane.
It was completely totaled. Half of its nose was crushed and the tail part of it seemed to be missing.
"Uncle Shao and the five other kids were from the crash. I was not there back then. I was living under a trash can but uncle Shao said that and brought me here. he chased the zombies coming after us away with his powers. He was also the one who rescued us from that… that person. Uncle Shao did not know he was bad! He just wanted to save people! He is a good person."
Yue raised a brow at this. "Who is this person you're talking about? is it that guy in the white coat?"
"Yes! He promised to make us all-powerful! Uncle Shao was against it but we agreed with him. we agreed to the testing. It did make us powerful. But lily changed a lot… the others started to fear her. So, uncle Shao created that room for her and found food for her every week." The boy peered up at him. his golden eyes started to shimmer as he walked close. "Uncle Shao is not a bad person. Please don't hurt him,"
Yue sighed softly. "I never planned to hurt him in the first place. Did you guys not understand? He is my cousin..." he swatted down to his height. "Did uncle Shao tell you why he came to G city? Did he bother to mention it?"
Musing Shao and his grandmother Murong Jia had no reason to come all the way over to G city from S city.
"He came here to meet his family. He said that he wanted to apologize to them. And that he wanted to reconcile with them. After the man-eating monsters came about, uncle Shao became desperate. He tried his best to get to the city close by but the zombies were too many at that time. We were all kids, too. we couldn't leave this place. so, he stayed back. Every night he would look at a certain picture and sigh." The boy held his hand gently. "I've seen your pictures…... he came here to meet you,"
Yue felt his heart clench slightly. when he left S city, he was glad the Murong family had perished. But all the while Murong Shao had been searching for him so desperately.
He lowered his head, massaging his aching heart.
"Oh…"
"Will you forgive him? uncle Shao is a good person." The kid said insistently.
Yue chuckled. "Did he pay you to sing praises of his?"
"He might have bribed me with a few chocolates. But most of what I said is the truth..." the boy said with a small grin.
Yue chuckled loudly, patting the kid's small hands. "Thank you for telling me all this,"
He stood up, glancing at Tian. "Are you okay with this?"
"I'm fine with anything you decide. But personally, I don't wish to get in touch with them," she said resolutely.
"Thank you,"
Tian gently touched the top of his head and patted his cheeks as well. "let's go meet up with the others and have a discussion on how we are going to deal with this situation."
Yue and Tian left the kid back to their compound and went over to theirs.
It was still a mess in there. so many people who had lost their lives in the stampede were being dragged out and were burned along with the ones Yue had killed while fighting with the prison base members.
The stench of burning bodies was intense.
This made the people on the campus very much depressed.
Everyone was disturbed by what happened just now.
Their trust in their management might have lessened as well.
Some even tried to overthrow the power of the soldiers, but they were easily subdued.
Chaos was brewing between the survivors.
