Chapter 45 - 45. ..everything to be perfect..

The door opened and the one who came was our CEO's office secretary.

Secretary Qian Cheng, like his name, was a sincere looking man.

He was not overly handsome but appeared pleasing to the eyes, let's just say he will get a 7 on the scale of 10.

With his golden framed glasses he gave the look of a scholar, well, he was one. He was a man of few words, who treated his work with seriousness or so was the impression of others about this young man in his late twenties.

He too had a serious face and somehow made his coworkers feel a bit timid when facing him but he was good at his work so no one could complain.

Before Qin Meilin came from abroad, he was still considered someone, who at least had the trust of the CEO, as he was given some crucial works to do, even now after she came back, it was not like she suppressed him, on the contrary, she was someone who Secretary Qian revered.

She was strict to all just as she was with herself, ignoring the rumors going on, anyone who was not living under a rock knew that she was an ideal superior.

She was not haughty at all, though she appeared aloof and detached from the world, she never flaunted her weight as the only 'princess of Qin'.

She was strict alright, but she also gave pointers to those who deserved it, she didn't beat around the bush, she was always straight to the point, efficient in her work, treated her work with serious attitude; she never praised anyone and reprimanded you if did something wrong but after working with her for some time now, they knew that it was only because she desired everything to be perfect or at least something close to it, which these people were not able to reach at the first chance even though they were the cream of the top, well, her bar was too high and they were after all human, it was not humanly possible to give your superior exactly what they demanded, it couldn't be perfect but then again in their eyes she was an exception.

After she came back, their own work efficiency has increased, Secretary Qian for one, has learned a lot from the serious and clock-work Empress of their company and for him, it was a well-found compliment for her when he referred to her like that because he also desired to be like her.

He is among the few who were actually held with regards by Qin Meilin, considering his attitude to his work he was someone she was fine with leaving some crucial matters to, it showed her respect for him and without using any words she showed it with action, which he gladly received.

Secretary Qian got a call from his senior, well, he was older than Qin Meilin but she definitely was a senior in this line of work even though she just started doing this work just a few months ago, she was too perfect that everyone easily forgot that she was actually someone who was definitely the youngest in the whole company, anyway, she had called him to notify that she and the CEO will be late due to some unforeseen matter and didn't clarify and knowing her if it was something he needed to know, she would have definitely told him and since she didn't, he didn't ask further, she appeared to be in a hurry so, he didn't mention the sudden visit of the person in front of him to her.

Then again even if she was told about this, he knew that, as long as, it was not in their schedule she won't even allow the chairman to make some changes to it and give him preferential treatment based on his position, she didn't mind if it looked bad, well, she didn't care, she was like a mountain, she never budged once the decision was made, in her case, she never...never swayed away from her beliefs and rules.

Before she came here, there was flexibility in the given schedule of anyone, including the CEO but after she came, she made it a rule not to change it, it was a bit too serious but considering her position and the CEO's nonchalant attitude, who was going to go against her?

Well, he himself was not fine with anyone to just come here without prior notice; they were a reputable company, scratch that they were at the top of this nation(!!!) and it was considered neglecting their status if someone did something like ignoring proper procedures to get an appointment to see someone like their legendary and respected CEO, well, even if he wasn't the and a well-renowned man it was still not proper; he was fine with it earlier but once she made the rule he gladly followed it, he respected his job and this place and he expected the same from everyone and if, even the chairman was not an exception, who was this lady?

He was not being rude but it was his attitude towards his job.

If it was some serious business, he knew it wasn't still if it was, she could just get an appointment or ask the CEO himself and not barge like this without any previous arrangement.

The CEO had not notified them, so, this was a 'surprise' visit; previously it might have been okay but after the few months of working with Secretary Qin, he was being molded into being the next her, he was strict to begin with, and now that he was given proper orders he became even more stern. He by no means would allow such behavior in his working environment.

{PS. As of today 8/1/2019, a significant part has been added in the first chapter, my old readers are requested to skim through it if they would like to, it will be described in the future.}

{A/N: Next few chapters are about this 'fiancee'. I'm trying to change my style by not getting in too deep and trying to stop myself from writing 5-6 consecutive chapters about side characters but I think there's a need for it...I'll try to change it but nothing can be promised...even I want to read about the main couple but without these side characters the main CP can't shine, right? My plan of dumping them all in the mass release was ruined(now that word gives me chills, it all started on that fateful day...) Please be patient! }
