[Passionate Farewell]

“—Yo, Seele. How’s it going?”

“Geh, Great Demon King. What are you doing here…?!”

It was dusk. I reunited with an appalled Seele.

She had left the city for half an hour or so, but it had taken me no time to find her.

I mean, she had been slowly walking through the grasslands outside Helheim, her steps heavy.

“…Your Agility is fairly high, so you can run pretty fast if you want to, but why are you still here?”

“S-shaddap! Not everyone’s like you! Some prefer to take their time when traveling!” Seele said, averting her face.

By the way, she was wearing the knightly armor she had on when we first met.

She had returned the sexy but strong armor she had gotten from Grimm and left without taking any items or money from the guild. Guessed she had her own set of principles.

“Hmph… you should have just left me be. An ingrate like me doesn’t worth your time…!”

“Why should I? We’ve gone on so many adventures together… well, actually, we’ve never. We’re not that kind of guild, but you were still my precious guildmate. Lemme send you off, at least.” I said, smiling. Seele’s shoulders then trembled.

After a few seconds of silence… illuminated by the setting sun, tears began to trickle down her face…

“I’m… sorry…! For quitting so suddenly… without even a single explanation…! But I had to… otherwise… otherwise… I would have faltered and decided to stay…!”

Drip, drip… the girl who had once been my enemy bowed to me, crying.

“Well, I don’t blame you. I’ve almost never spent my time playing with you or Grimm. We’ve never had a real chat, and all we’ve ever talked about is how to kill the enemies more efficiently or something along the lines…”

“That’s… true, isn’t it?”

She had tried to kill me on our first meeting, then we’d been arrested under the order of the braindead pope, rebelled against him, formed a guild, and warred against other guilds…

Haha, looking back, those were bloody days. The memories we shared were all on the battlefields.

Oh, but…

“But… it was fun, Great Demon King. It felt like I was a member of an evil organization. Those days were really fun. It made me glad to have started playing this game, to have met you.”

“Yeah… same here, Seele. I’m really glad to have met you, too. So, what say you we fight side by side for one more time?”

“Thanks for the offer, really. It’s more than I deserve. But I’m sorry–!”

While both crying and laughing at the same, Seele took out her greatsword…!

She then pointed it at me and a smile of madness, the same one she had when we first met, spread across her face–!

“Great Demon King… no, Yuri! I want to fight you again! Now that I’ve grown since I met you and come to like you, very much so, I want to take you down!”

–Seele’s expression as she roared was brutal, yet incredibly beautiful.

The blood-red, vivid sunset reflected beautifully on her hair and eyes.

“Hahaha… I should’ve expected no less of you, Seele! Fine, bring it on! Let’s show everyone the most brutal battle!”

“Yeah, you’ve got it! Wash your neck and wait for me, Yuri!”

–Illuminated by the setting sun, Seele then left, running this time.

I wouldn’t stop her.

“See ya, Seele. The next time we meet, I’m gonna kill you…!”

Because no matter how far apart we were, we would always be connected by the bloodshed of battle–!
