Chapter 1020 Is It Just A Coincidence?

Yuan Meng's anger could not even stand for a whole moment before it was thawed by Ye Qian's words.

In truth, Yuan Meng was not angry at Ye Qian at all, the reason was simple, she knew that Ye Qian was just too pure to have any of such thoughts in his mind.

In fact, even if the world were to come and tell her that Ye Qian did such a thing willingly she would not bat an eye to even believe it.

Much less the world, even if Ye Qian himself were to tell her that he did something like taking a peek at a woman, then Yuan Meng would roll on the ground while laughing as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world.

That was how much she believed in Ye Qian.

But women...they could accept anything but being compared.

"You are indeed my dummy, coaxed me with just so simple words."

Yuan Meng placed her head on Ye Qian's chest and muttered.

Right now, only she knew how much worried she had gotten after hearing Ye Qian before the dinner.

Although Ye Qian did tell her that this was just a possibility, but Yuan Meng herself had been feeling wary these few days making her worried.

And Ye Qian's words only highlighted them.

But this small act of being in the embrace of the man she loved with all of her heart and who was also her child's father gave her a sense of belief that nothing would happen to them at all.

Seeing the couple in front of them had gotten romantic all of a sudden after the shimmering setback, the girls could only stare at them in a daze.

"Alright, let's leave."

Ye Qian rubbed Yuan Meng's back.

Although she didn't tell him, he understood Yuan Meng the most, her anger was nothing but just an outburst of her worry.

Although she didn't react much when he told her about the creature might be after her, Ye Qian understood that deep in her heart she was also worried, but to keep him calm, she didn't react and only tried to help him think of a way through it.

"I will not let anything harm you."

"I can't let anyone take you away from me."

Ye Qian said in her heart while turning to Yu Lan and others.

"Let's go."

The girls nodded and didn't say anything.

Meanwhile, as they arrived at the gate, Yu Lan and her friends were worried that they would again have to wait for 10 or so minutes before they could find a taxi.

And right now, they needed two taxis so that everyone could be easily accommodated which was quite worrisome for them since they all had to come in one taxi alone in fear of not getting the other.

But much to their shock and relief at the same time, they had not even waited for a dozen seconds when they saw a taxi coming by from one side of the road.

Just as they were about to make it stop, another one came from the other side of the road as well.

If anyone else was here, then they would have doubted whether this was scripted or not.

But there was someone who was not shocked in the least, he was, of course, Ye Qian.

He knew that the taxis were nothing but Le Zheng's security and he would not doubt if the taxis would have weapons enough to kill a hundred people in the least.

As for Yuan Meng, she didn't find it unusual since she would always get a taxi as soon as she wanted to and never had to wait for more than half a minute.

But she never thought much about it either.

"SIGH, we waited for more than 10 minutes for just one taxi and even had to get Lin on Yanran's lap, but now, SIGH!"

Mei sighed with her lips pursed.

"It might be a coincidence, this is the city and not the outskirts after all."

Yanran shrugged her shoulders.

Meanwhile, unknown to anyone of them, Le Zheng's eyes were focused on Ye Qian as if wanting to say something.

Ye Qian gave a slight nod towards him as if in agreement.

Ye Qian knew that right now, there was no way that Le Zheng would agree to remain in the shadows since they had understood that the creature or whatever it was, was after Yuan Meng.

And with the words that he had heard from the old beggar, the tension on his face was clearly visible.

Right now, the usual bright smile on Le Zheng's face had turned into something serious and passive state.

His usual demeanour of a noodle stall owner had also changed completely and he didn't look any different from a soldier who was ready to fight till his death.

Of course, even the stall today seemed to be out of guests.

Other than the note indicating that the food is finished there was nothing else.

One would definitely wonder why would someone still stay if their stuff was all sold out, but Le Zheng didn't care about it anymore.

There had been a few people who came to him for a few days and were told to go since he was not working.

Of course, those people also felt that it was odd for him to still stay even then.

Just as the taxi stopped in front of them, Yu Lan and her friends were a bit taken aback since the driver didn't act like any usual taxi driver and nor did any one of them ask where they wanted to go either.

"Everyone get in it's pretty cold outside."

That was when Ye Qian said not to give them a chance to say anything that was on their minds.

With that the taxis drover off, one following the other.

Ye Qian, Yuan Meng, Yu Lan and Xiao Ya sat in one while Lin, Yanran and Mei sat in the taxi which was following them.

While going back, Lin and Yanran would exchange glances at each other feeling that something was off but not able to clearly pinpoint it.
