Chapter 425 - I will be back

"Are you crazy? why did you ask Dean to set the papers to difficult? Thankfully she was prepared. My none of the assistants could answer the paper completely."

Arlo ignored his question, "How much did she score?"

Thomson controlled his urge to punch him in the face. "She got a full score but after five professors racked their brain, they deducted two percent giving some dumb reasons. By the way, her handwriting is as cute as her... Wait! that's not the point, Shouldn't you help her with easy paper?"

Arlo crossed his arms and leaned on the wall, "Let me repeat what Sky told me. 'We state it as difficult if we don't know to answer. If we know all the answers, then it's easy. So how can I say it as difficult or easy? If I say difficult, then I haven't prepared well, if I say easy, then it will be a shame for question paper setters.' So what do you think about her analysis?"

Arlo continued seeing Thomson speechless, "I will help her where ever she needs but that shouldn't insult her or her intelligence or her capabilities. If I ask for an easy paper, isn't it an insult to her?"

Thomson regretted asking him. "You win! your brain and her brain needs a thorough examination."

Once the invigilator entered, Arlo left for the meeting and Thomson followed him out of the building.

Arlo finished his meeting before Sky could finish her papers. The latter finished and exited the room.

Seeing her lost in thoughts, Arlo asked, "Did you leave any question? What are you thinking?"

"I couldn't complete the answer. I was slow I think, so I only had time to write the synopsis and brushed about the methods in the last question." Sky said with a displeased look.

"Time shortage?" Thomson who heard her asked. "That's an excuse." Sky and Arlo replied in unison.

"You guys suck!" Thomson was an examiner hence he left with a frown.

Sky and Arlo strolled around talking about random topics related to their college and reached back near the entrance of the administration block where they would get to know about her result.

Time ticked on but nobody came out. Sky started to pace around thinking if she made any other mistakes. Arlo tried to relax her but Sky asked, "What if I flunk? Will they allow me to try again?"

Arlo's lips twitched but Sky spoke again before he could reply. "I will not flunk. I may get less but I will pass. I will not let you down. Don't worry."

Arlo was speechless. He let her have her way and sat on the car bonnet looking at her. She wasn't a President of any company there, She was just a student waiting for the result anxiously.

Half-past five, Thomson called her from the first floor to go to the office room as they need some clarification. Sky nodded and looked at Arlo, "I will be back."

Arlo nodded in response and saw her entering the building.

Thomson waited outside for her and spoke when she went to him, "There is nothing to worry. Answer to whatever they ask, okay?"

Sky was confused. They never told her there would be any viva voce or interview. Since she was a special case student, she had to check out on her own. She nodded "Sure" and followed Thomson into the room.

There were six members on six different desks. Thomson was the youngest of them all. Other than him, Sky never saw others in her second-day visit. Thomson pointed at the chair which was in the center of the room and went to his desk.

"Miss.Harley! We have some questions about your answer, I hope you can help us with your answers." A caucasian mid-forties man spoke.

"Definitely!" Sky remained cool-headed and kept her poker face with strangers.

"We have all gone through your answers booklet. You may be aware that you haven't completed the one question. Your abstract and the methods about the topic 'Effects of business management on the performance of a company' are very impressive. We have perceived that the two methods are very unique. Can you please explain to us in detail?"

"Sure, Can I use the whiteboard?" Sky stood up and pointed whiteboard on the side.

"You can."

After their reply, Sky went towards and explained with blocks, numbers, and statistics. She had taken more than half an hour and six members' attention was completely on her explanation.

By the end, Sky filled the big large board with green, red and black ink. She twirled the marker at last and placed it in its original position before returning back to her chair.

There was complete silence, all were still looking at the board and took their own time to give their attention back on Sky.

"Very impressive. Are you interested in the research field? I am willing to take you as my disciple." A man in fifties asked. The impressed look was all over his face.

"Thank you! But I'm not interested." Sky replied without any hesitation.

Thomson coughed lightly before speaking, "Ms.Harley, Let me introduce him to you. He is Jeffery Pent. You may have heard about him."

Sky repeated his name in mind once and spoke, "Yes! Top professor in Country U. I have read his books. He is a top professor for a reason. It's good to meet you, Professor Jeffery."

Jeffery nodded, "It's mutual. You are a young girl with great talent."

Sky just gave a faint smile. Thomson's lips twitched. 'That's not why I said. Oh god!'

He took a deep breath, "Ms.Harley, I think you should ask time and consider his offer. Not everyone can get this opportunity."

"Thank you, Professor Thomson but I'm certain about my decision."

Jeffery stopped Thomson and spoke, "No problem! May I know the reason for not considering?"

'Did I hurt his ego? Oh god, Men and their ego!' Sky thought to herself.

"No offense! I prefer practical than theoretical. I am honored to know you have gone through my ideas. I'm not interested in the business management research field, if I join, it will be a waste of your precious time and my time."
