Listening to Shen Tiantian’s gentle voice, Shan Yi’s voice also softened, conveying weariness in her tone. “Promise me. No matter how angry you are, you can’t joke about yourself and the child, alright?”

“Okay.” Shen Tiantian’s heart skipped a beat, but she didn’t tell her that her attention had been distracted, which is why she hadn’t noticed her own condition.

She stared at Shan Yi for a moment, then licked her dry lips. “I want some water.”

Shan Yi responded with a quiet “mm-hmm,” opening the bottle of mineral water at the bedside and inserting a straw.

Even if Shen Tiantian wasn’t the sharpest, she could tell that Shan Yi was upset. She sighed lightly, reflecting on the fact that she was the one who had been upset earlier, but now she was trying to get the other person not to be angry. “Are you mad?”

Shan Yi didn’t deny it and responded with a subdued “mm-hmm.”

This was the second time within three months of Shen Tiantian’s pregnancy that she had been to the hospital. The first time was due to her not controlling her desires properly, and this time it was an accident. No one had anticipated such an occurrence, but if she had paid more attention to her wife’s condition, she wouldn’t have had to wait until she cried out in pain to notice.

She was angry with Shen Tiantian, not saying anything, but in the end, she was more upset with herself.

“I’m sorry, next time I’ll definitely tell you in advance,” Shen Tiantian said with an obedient expression.

Looking at her wife’s sincere appearance, Shan Yi’s anger dissipated. She leaned in and kissed her forehead, still feeling a bit shaken: “Good girl, it’s my fault for not thinking things through. You were frightened.”

Shen Tiantian smiled and thought to herself that although Shan Yi forgave her, her own incident hadn’t been forgotten yet. “You’ve forgiven me?”

“Mm, I’ve forgiven you,” Shan Yi continued kissing her, trailing down to the tip of her nose.

As her kiss reached the corner of her mouth, Shen Tiantian finally spoke up to stop her. She looked stern and said: “Even though you’ve forgiven me for this matter, one thing at a time. I’m still angry. Aren’t you planning to explain things clearly before you kiss me again?!”

The person who was about to kiss her wife halted her actions, slowly lifting her face and asking in a low voice: “I’ve already explained the situation. What does my wife want me to do to be forgiven?”

“Do you know what I’m upset about?” Shen Tiantian countered.

Shan Yi nodded, “Hiding the matter about Celia.”

Perhaps having just gone through such a terrifying experience, Shen Tiantian couldn’t hold back anymore and poured out her grievances in one go. “You promised me clearly that you won’t hide anything anymore. Yet, time and again, you wait for me to find out before you explain. Since we’re almost becoming a married couple, you don’t even give me that basic trust, which makes me feel so frustrated.”

Shan Yi opened her mouth to speak, but Shen Tiantian raised her hand to stop her and continued, “Do you think you’re so powerful that you can handle everything? I can just relax and stay behind you? Even though I’m just an ordinary woman, so are you. I hope we can face things together, rather than you silently handling them on your own while I can only watch. This kind of connection will slowly drive us apart…”

She’s really afraid that such a day might come.

Shan Yi frowned; she hadn’t expected Shen Tiantian to have so many thoughts. Listening to her accusations, she couldn’t refute anything. Perhaps her approach was indeed flawed, thinking that showering her with affection was enough.

“I didn’t expect you to think like this,” Shan Yi looked hurt.

Shen Tiantian accused: “But you still did something like that.”

Shan Yi remained silent, quietly reflecting on her actions during this period. For the first time, she realized that Shen Tiantian could be so assertive in her speech.

After speaking, Shen Tiantian realized that her tone was too heated. Looking at Shan Yi’s pale and troubled face, she recalled how Shan Yi had protected her while being afraid on the plane. She felt a pang of discomfort in her heart.

Suddenly, the air became quiet. She wanted to say something, but Shan Yi spoke first, “I understand. There won’t be such incidents again in the future. Can you trust me one more time?”

Shen Tiantian looked steadily at her and then let out a heavy sigh, “Okay.”

Shan Yi had prepared herself for the possibility that Shen Tiantian might not respond positively, but unexpectedly, she agreed directly. Just as her heart, which had been hanging in her throat, settled back into place, Shen Tiantian added: “If there’s another incident like this, maybe we should break up early.”

Shan Yi furrowed her brows, calmly stating: “There won’t be another time.”

“Are you hungry after not eating for half a day? I’ll go out and buy some food.”

She replied with an “okay,” and as Shan Yi left, Shen Tiantian hastily added, “Go and come back soon.”

After Shan Yi left, Shen Tiantian glanced around the hospital room. It was spacious and well-lit, and the bed she was lying on was more than twice the size of a regular bed. Realizing that she was the only one here, she suddenly recognized that it was a VIP room.

Perhaps they were concerned that a regular ward might be too noisy for her. Shen Tiantian felt a sweet sensation in her heart. She thought about her tone just now, which seemed like a quarrel.

She sighed and couldn’t help but comment to herself that being in a subtle relationship was really difficult.

Her phone, placed on the bedside table, suddenly rang, startling Shen Tiantian and bringing her thoughts back to the present.

Looking at the caller ID, seeing it was Liu Wanjun, Shen Tiantian immediately answered. Before she could say anything, a frantic shout came from the other end of the line, “Tiantian, are you okay?!”

Shen Tiantian felt like her eardrums were about to burst, “I’m, I’m okay.”

Knowing that Shen Tiantian was fine, Liu Wanjun let out a heavy sigh of relief. She had just woken up from a nap and received a news notification about flight KS256 to City W encountering turbulence during its flight and being forced to make an emergency landing. It was only after reading the comments that she suddenly remembered that Shen Tiantian and Shan Yi were on that flight. She was so scared, she immediately called.

Shen Tiantian’s voice indeed sounded fine, “You scared me. What about Shan Yi? Is she okay too?”

“She’s fine, she went out to buy something for me.”

After confirming that Shen Tiantian was okay, Liu Wanjun started chatting with her, “Have you two made up?”

Made up? In her view, not entirely, but they also hadn’t exactly fought, “I talked to her just now, and she promised that there won’t be any more incidents like this.”

“And she didn’t mention how she’s going to handle that woman’s matter?”

“No.” However, she believed that Shan Yi would handle it well.

Liu Wanjun gave a nod, “Your relationship is your own business, you figure it out. Don’t let Yaya’s words affect you.”

“I understand,” Shen Tiantian replied softly.

“Have you reached the hotel?”

“No, I’m at the hospital.” Shen Tiantian didn’t intend to hide anything from her friend, though she lightened the details a bit, “After getting off the plane, my stomach started hurting a bit, so I came to the hospital to get checked.”

Upon hearing this, Liu Wanjun’s heart, which had just settled, tensed up again, “What did the doctor say?”

“Um, they just said that I was scared and that I’ll be fine after some rest.”

Liu Wanjun said half-believingly, “It’s best if that’s the case. Don’t lie to me and make me worry.”

“Okay, both you and Yaya don’t need to worry.”

Liu Wanjun huffed, expressing her disdain, “Among the three of us, you’re the youngest and still so naive. How can I not worry?”

Shen Tiantian rolled her eyes; she admitted that she was the youngest, but how did that make her so naive?!

“Are you still in city X?”

“Yes, at a hospital near the airport.” Shen Tiantian didn’t know when she would be discharged, but she thought Liu Wanjun would ask, so she took the initiative to explain, “I don’t know how the CEO arranged things, but if everything goes well, I should be able to get to city W tomorrow.”

Liu Wanjun sighed, “I hope everything goes smoothly and you finish shooting without any hitches.”

“It won’t be a problem.” Shen Tiantian chuckled. There was a faint sound at the door, and without needing to look, she knew that it was Shan Yì returning. “The CEO is back, I won’t chat with you now.”

“Alright, remember to stay in touch.” Liu Wanjun said.

“Sure thing, Mom Wanjun.”

Liu Wanjun chuckled, “Go on, I don’t have a daughter as old as you.”

Shan Yì saw that she was on the phone and didn’t interrupt, understanding who she was talking to from Shen Tiantian’s tone.

Perhaps seeing the news, she called to confirm that everything was alright.

Not long after arriving at the hospital, her parents called in a state of urgency upon learning that Shen Tiantian was at the hospital. They were so anxious that they wanted to rush over immediately, but luckily she managed to stop them. With her father present, her mother managed to somewhat calm down. Her mother kept urging her to call once Shen Tiantian woke up.

However, Shen Tiantian had just woken up, and she wasn’t in a hurry to call back. After all, as long as they knew she was fine, it was enough.

After ending the call, she put her phone down, sniffed, and proactively asked, “Did the doctor say when I can be discharged?”

The hand that was unwrapping a package paused, and a touch of bitterness flashed through her heart. Normally, her wife would have replied first with “You’re back.” But this time, she didn’t say it, which made her feel a bit sour.

Nevertheless, she honestly answered her wife’s question, “The doctor said you didn’t experience any bleeding this time, so you can be discharged whenever you want.”

“Then, when should we leave for city W? Should we postpone the shooting schedule?!”

Shan Yì was taken aback for a moment. After checking the temperature, she fed the meat porridge into her partially closed mouth and asked in return: “How do you feel now?”

Swallowing the warm porridge, Shen Tiantian showed a gesture of feeling the changes in her body, then casually said: “I’m feeling alright.”

“Should we go over tomorrow afternoon?” City X and City W were only a two-hour drive apart. Renting a private car shouldn’t tire her wife too much.

Experiencing such an incident on her first flight, she probably had some psychological impact, right? At least for a short period, she wouldn’t dare to fly again. Shan Yì understood this very well, which was why just a moment ago she had canceled their return flight and changed it to a first-class seat on a high-speed train.

“What time is the appointment?”

At first, Shan Yì intended to handle everything herself, but considering their recent conversation, she changed her approach before speaking, “It’s at 10 AM in the morning. I can call to see if we can reschedule.”

Shen Tiantian nodded; it seemed like the only option now. Although she was feeling much better, she didn’t want to rush things for the sake of the baby.

“By the way,” Shen Tiantian was about to speak, but the spoon of porridge that Shan Yì brought to her lips stopped her. After swallowing, she eagerly asked: “Does Mom know?”

“Yes, she knows,” Shan Yì said helplessly. “Mom is very worried, and she even planned to come over…”

“Mom is coming?” Shen Tiantian couldn’t believe it, almost sitting up. “Tell her not to go through the trouble.”

Shan Yì paused for a moment, then chuckled, “Listen to me till the end.”

Feeling she might have overreacted, Shen Tiantian hesitated for a moment before softly responding, “Okay.”

“I’ve already assured my parents that we’re safe. Dad comforted Mom, and she hasn’t come yet,” Shan Yì brushed off the earlier scolding she received and continued, “Once you’re feeling better, give Mom a call.”

As Shan Yì spoke, Shen Tiantian picked up her phone, skillfully found Mother Shan’s number, and dialed it. Shan Yì didn’t stop her; she continued to feed her the porridge, and before they knew it, half the bowl of meat porridge was gone.
