Chapter 134 - Doesn't your princess have any simpler demands? (2)

Bei Nuan held the somewhat weighty Li Dahua. Li Dahua didn't dare to resist, but her hackles were up. She shrunk her head back and looked up at Bei Nuan in alarm.

Both parties were reluctant with this arrangement.

Bei Nuan thought; you're so heavy. I really don't want to hold you. I just wanted to worm my way into being buddies with you.

“Dahua is so cute!" Bei Nuan exclaimed with emotion.

"Yeah, cute," Xie Yuanqing said, "Dahua is a stray I picked up on the road. When I picked her up, she was only a few months old. She was so thin and small with an injury on her leg. Her fur was so tangled that I couldn't brush it."

Xie Yuanqing smiled. "She was so gluttonous then. She desperately ate every day. She would gobble up everything I fed her as if she was scared there wouldn't be a next meal."

That was the subject Bei Nuan wanted to ask about. "You said that you used fish filets to get her to choose a last name. She really likes dried fish then?"

Xie Yuanqing patted Dahua's head and said in a doting tone, "She used to be so excited when she smelled fish as a kitten, but after seeing more of the world, she won't eat dried fish whenever I offer it."

Ah.

"So then what does she like to eat?" Bei Nuan humbly asked for advice.

Xie Yuanqing thought it over. "She likes to eat the cat food made by my chef the most. Unfortunately, the chef turned into a zombie when we came out this time."

"Cat food?"

"Yeah," Xie Yuanqing said, "I think it's made with chopped Angus ribeye mixed with foie gras and garnished with Beluga caviar."

Bei Nuan: "..."

Xie Yuanqing looked a bit worried. "She hasn't eaten well in the past few days after the chef died. I tried all sorts of food, but she won't eat any of them."

Bei Nuan's pocket space didn't have Angus ribeye and Beluga caviar.

Bei Nuan thought; doesn't your princess have any simpler demands?

Xie Yuanqing saw that Bei Nuan was struggling to hold Dahua and had people bring two wicker chairs to the courtyard.

Bei Nuan wholeheartedly wanted to find out about his princess's likes, and Xie Yuanqing seemed as if he had nothing better to do. He seriously answered Bei Nuan's questions, and they had a great conversation.

Xie Yuanqing idly asked Bei Nuan about the origins of her group.

Bei Nuan randomly said a bunch of nonsense, and half the stuff she said was false. Her mind was focused on Li Dahua's wishes.

"So then how does Dahua like to play?" Bei Nuan decided to switch strategies. She was too picky about her food. It would be difficult to fulfill her wish in terms of food, so then what about fun activities?

"I built a three-story playground within my home for Dahua."

Xie Yuanqing pointed at the top of the tallest tree in the courtyard and continued, "It's probably that high. It had climbing frames and passageways for cats. I also had someone design a maze. There was an automatic mouse and cat wand in the maze. Dahua could stay there for a day without coming out."

Xie Yuanqing patted Dahua again. His eyes were filled with distress. "But the playground was too big. I couldn't take it with us."

Bei Nuan thought; I don't have a three-story playground or electric mice either. I'm not depressed over it.

Suddenly, a person dressed in local clothing came into the courtyard from outside, walked to Xie Yuanqing, and whispered something to him.

Bei Nuan vaguely made out, "The patriarch asked you to come over."

Xie Yuanqing stood up. "Sorry, something urgent came up."

Bei Nuan quickly stood up too. "I'll go then. I'll come again."

However, Xie Yuanqing put his hand on her shoulder and pressed her to sit back down in the wicker chair.

"It's okay, you can stay here to continue playing with Dahua. I think you guys have a lot of fate. It's rare for Dahua to like someone that much. Go when you really want to leave. There's no rush." His voice was especially low and moving, and his tone was so sincere. He was too persuasive.

Bei Nuan thought; that was okay too. It might be easier to figure out what Dahua wants without Xie Yuanqing present.

Xie Yuanqing left with that person.

As soon as he left, Dahua leapt off Bei Nuan's lap. She was unwilling to pretend for even a second longer.

Although this cat was awkward and a tsundere, she was extremely well-behaved when Xie Yuanqing was around. She never went against his meaning. That must be why she was so favored.

Bei Nuan simply squatted down in front of the wicker chair and discussed with her, "I don't want to hold you either. Listen to me. I want to fulfill three of your wishes. Once you let me finish this, we can return to our separate ways, and we won't have to put up with each other. How about it?"

Dahua raised her head to vigilantly stare at Bei Nuan.

Did it understand her?

Dahua suddenly took two steps forward and sniffed at her pocket.

Huh?
