47 Demonic Trickster

They arrived at the foot of the mountain. Bryn got off the horse and walked over to the wall like part near the path to walk up. He knocked onto it and pressed his ear against it and did it again. He moved back and pressed his hands to the floor. The ground rumbled and the wall slowly moved out and to the side, opening a secret passage into the mountain. He turned to face them and walked into the tunnel. They followed him and the path closed behind them. A ghostly figure appeared in front of them.

"I see you seek to meet the demon king."

"Who are you?" Esral asked, "Can you bring us the the demon king?"

"I am the creator, but I can only bring one to the demon king, which one of you would like to see him?"

"I will," Esral said stepping forwards, "I want to see him," Two figures appeared at his side.

"Nasus, Renekton, open the gate and put the others outside," He said, "And seal it for the time being, now Esral, why did you come all this way to find this being?"

"I came to see Hugo."

"I must warn you, Hugo's soul and mind are covered by the demon king's, you will see his body, not his mind," They walked down a narrow path and soon arrived into a room, "Here, take this heart, if he acts up, squeeze it, but don't give it to him, it limits his powers and makes him controllable, if he has it, he will go on another rampage."

"Okay, but, what is that?" She said pointing at a purple dome in the middle of the room. Nasus and Renekton placed their hands on the dome and a large wave of energy spread through the dome and it became clear. In the middle, there was a throne-like chair with someone sitting in it. What on earth?! Hugo's body was attached to the chair by steel links. Two of them went through his forearm, two spikes curved through of his shoulders and his stomach. Two steel links went through his legs holding him to the chair and a bar that held his head and passed through his cheeks holding his jaw open. He looked nothing like she remembered, he had blackened arms and his hair was stained with blood, he seemed like Omega and Sona. The creator tapped on the glass and one of his eyes shot open. Esral gulped and held the heart in her hands as the Creator, Nasus and Renekton left her. He stared at her and then he slammed his jaw shut shattering the bar. He cracked his neck before pulling himself off of the throne, breaking the other seals. He walked over to Esral. He tilted his head to the side.

"Who would come to visit the demon king? Who would come this far to see me?"

"I would, I came to find the man that you use as a replacement for your body."

"And who are you, my lady?"

"I am Esral, Hugo's lover," She glared at him, "Give me back my lover."

"I can't do that, dear," He laughed and smiled revealing his sharp, yellow teeth, "I have no other body to take, maybe if you give me that heart, I could help you."

"No, I need my lover back."

"Humans, so stubborn yet so interesting," He licked his lips, "Did you know that Hugo was never human?"

"Shut up already, give me my lover back!"

"What do you mean, Esral?" He said as he gained a human form, "How long has it been?"

"Is that you? So you are still in this body," She placed her hand on the small force field separating them, "I missed you and came to find you."

"I missed you so much," He said, "What is that in your hand? A heart?"

"It was to make sure the demon king couldn't escape."

"I would kill myself if I could spend time out of this prison and by your side."

"Maybe you can, since you have the demon king's powers, if I give this to you, no, I shouldn't," She said looking at the heart, "If you go crazy, you will kill me and this world."

"Trust me, Esral, it's me Hugo."

"I shouldn't give this to you."

"Would you want to leave me trapped in here?" This comment made Esral shiver a little, "I don't want to be stuck here forever."

"Here," She held the heart near the force field, "But how can I give it to you?"

"If I walk to the middle of the room, you should be able to."

"Okay," She said as she rolled the heart into the cell, "Maybe you will be able to return to my side," She fell for it, now, time to break out. He grabbed the heart and put it to his chest. His body grew and he gained his demon form. He laughed demonically and smashed through the cell. Esral ran back and the demon king chased her and missed his punch and smashed the path in the wall. Grila and Bryn noticed the giant beast that had just punched out of the tunnel. He roared and tried to kill Esral. Grila cast a spell that hit him in the head. Mind control should be able to dominate him. He turned his attention to Grila. Fear ran through her body as she turned to run. He leapt and landed crushing her to the ground. He held her arms down and moved his mouth to the back of her neck. He bit her neck, she screamed as he ripped her spine out, splattering blood everywhere, he tossed it to the side. Nasus and Renekton appeared with Bryn and Esral. They stood in front of Bryn and Esral as the demon king leaped forward. They blocked the full force punches of the king's attack. Bryn helped Esral to her feet and the demon king flings both Nasus and Renekton to the floor. He leapt onto Renekton and a scream flew through the air and died as the demon king rose his head from Renekton's lifeless body. He licked his lips and easily blacked Nasus's attack and slashed his throat, both jailers had died, now nothing was near the demon king's power. He got up and stood a fair distance away from Bryn and Esral. He leaped towards them knocking them to the ground. Esral crashed into the wall and fell to the floor. He held his hand out and a small ball of black energy formed in front of his finger and grew.

"Esral, you were fooled, now this will be the Dead End to your life," He said as the ball of energy flew towards her. She couldn't move from her fear. Bryn got up and moved in front of her as the ball neared her.

"I swore to protect you, this is my will, I will die to protect you."

"Nooo!" The ball slammed into him and his body went black and fell to the ground. The demon king laughed.

"So unlucky, you should have just killed yourself," He smile as he walked towards Esral, he gained a human aspect and grabbed the base of his neck. He ripped out his spine. It formed into a broken blade, "You remember this blade? Now here is the full blade," His right eye went black as the missing part of the blade reformed, "Maybe I can satisfy my blade's blood lust with a fine specimen."

Esral was frozen in fear as the demon king walked towards her with Hugo's form with his elemental blade drawn. He rose it and swung it down. Esral closed her eyes as it neared her. Clang! She opened her eyes to see Nehro's blade blocking the blade. A stone pillar had rose from the ground holding it up. A hand touched her shoulder. She turned her head and saw Sona and Omega in semi-demon form. The demon king jumped back and laughed. He wiped the blood from his lips and then licked them.

"More kills huh? I already killed you four," He laughed as he returned to his demon form, "You can't beat me, you will just feed my power, I'll kill you one by one and save my queen and Esral for last."

"Try us!" Nehro shouted as his blade hit the demon king's cheek, cutting him. Nami brought up two massive stone pillars and slammed them into him, he didn't move. Omega turned his hands into two blades and spun and slashed through him and Sona slammed her first into his stomach. They moved back and the stone pillars shattered and he emerged, nearly untouched. He was laughing as he moved his arms down. He blinked away and appeared behind Nehro and swung his blade at him, but Sona tackled him out of the air. She held him to the ground and Nami and Nehro launched massive attacks at him. A few seconds later Sona slammed into the wall near Esral. The demon king simply got up and deflected Nehro's strike. He grabbed the end of the blade and pulled Nehro towards him. He swung his blade down and it slashed through Nehro. His body fell to the floor, his legs were separated from his torso. Blood pooled on the floor. Nami slammed hundreds of attacks onto him as she screamed in rage. The stone formed around him and she clapped her hands and it tightened and then exploded as he emerged once again. He was panting and had several cuts on his body. He jumped at Nami but Omega used both his feet to deviate his leap. He landed and rolled on the floor and clashed with Omega's bone arm that had formed into a blade. They moved around at godly speeds and Nami used her magic to amplify Omega's strikes and to slow down the demon king's. He seemed to be getting weaker but them turned his attention to Nami and drove his horns into her chest. He swung his head down to the floor and used his wings to fling himself to the ground, creating a crater in the ground. Nami coughed blood and her body stayed limp. Esral drew her sword and created a wall of ice to stop his attack on Omega. He slammed through it and sent Omega flying. She got to her feet and held her sword weakly in front of her, his charge had knocked the wind out of her. Omega's body came flying towards her, she dodged it and noticed his lifeless eyes. She turned her head to notice the demon king flying towards her. She dodged him and he slammed into the wall. Sona got up and tossed Esral to the side. She looked up and saw two full demons standing head to head.

"How long has it been, my dear? I wish I could feel your body like when we first met," He grinned and laughed, "At least now, I can feel your dead body."

"**** isn't enough? Well, now I can take revenge," They slammed into each other and Sona slammed him down into the wall. She turned her forearm into a blade and she thrust it into his chest. She was suddenly flung back. The demon king rose to his feet laughing. He walked over to her and jumped thrusting his blade down. Esral spun her blade and a massive fist of ice slammed into the demon king's side, slamming him to the floor. He rose and his eyes were filled with rage. He leaped at her but she stopped him by using a wave of ice that threw him into the wall. She created a coffin of ice around him. Eternal ice is unbreakable, he should die soon. It shattered a few seconds later and the demon king emerged, laughing once again. She looked on in shock as he simply wiped it off. He blinked in front of her and punched her, cutting her cheek. She fell to the ground, and weakly tried to push herself up.

"Now now, you escaped me once but you won't be able to get away now," He said as a small ball of energy formed at the tip of his finger, it began to grow, "Dead end, no one can save--," A blade drove through his stomach, "You still move," He spun his body and drove his blade to her neck, her head rolled on the ground as he body fell back limp. Esral took the opening and drove her blade into the demon king's chest and a explosion of ice beamed from the sword. Esral went flying back, hitting the ground hard. She pushed herself up and noticed a very human body where the demon king should have been. She dragged herself to it. Hugo! She knelt next to him, resting his head on her leg.

"E-Esral..."

"Is that you Hugo? Or is this the demon king?"

"Can't, can't you trust me?" He coughed blood, "What did you tell him about us?"

"That I loved Hugo."

"Did you tell him my nickname for you?"

"No," She replied as tears came to her eyes, "Why?"

"I have been in his mind for several years now, I think I know how to kill him."

"I am listening."

"Take the blade you gave me, that is sealed to my back," He coughed blood again, "Rip out my heart."

"How can I trust you?"

"Do it for me, my demacian queen," He gave her a weak smile and coughed again. She realized what he said and pulled the blade from his back. She lifted it up and jammed it into Hugo's chest and ripped out his heart. She held it in her hand and jammed the blade into it. She broke down into tears as she held his lifeless body on her knees.
