Chapter 258 - § PEA BRAIN §

CHAPTER 005

The backlash from Yanarym was frequently occurring. Kraig was already accustomed to that circumstance. She would linger around him, her eyes would always scorn Tiana, she would get close to him, sometimes she would talk to him. Once she failed her attempt to associate with him, she would assault Tiana, and he would save Tiana. After that, if he expressed that he was angry with her, she would back down right away. She would always listen to him… It was a cycle. Every day, the particular skit would play just as it was stated. This time though, she did not. He glared at her, he held her, he soothed her, nonetheless, she won't withdraw. She was not listening to him, it disturbed him.

The lid of her patience conspicuously popped out, she was bursting everything out. Her eyes were flickering with the animosity that was directed to him—not to Tiana, to him. She was angry with him… Somehow it made his feet cold, he unconsciously looked away. That made it clear for him to hear what she was saying because his ear was right in front of her mouth. Her voice was pleasing but the tone was gravely serious. "You're no different from me, Kraig," she murmured, "you're no longer an angel to me. Get lost from my life." He gulped and abruptly redirected his eyes back to her.

"What?" A mute response, his eyes were wide. She heard him, he knew that, yet she shunned him and pushed him. He was too occupied by what she had told him that she managed to push him back to Tiana's location.

"You turned your back on me after knowing my true colors... Why is that? Is it because you are so disgusted and offended to know someone like me? You dared enter my life and then leave me halfway like the hypocritical asshole that you are. Now, you think I'm causing you too much trouble? That I am being too much?! You are the one who caused me this heartache! You left me with a broken heart! You gave me false hope! You hurt me so bad that I have to hurt you back! It is all because of you, you fucking bastard!" Her eyes were flaring with anguish. Kraig could discern that she was so angry and devastated.

A rueful grin appeared, "Oh, you told me just now that a good person should not hurt anybody, right? Does that mean you're a bad person too? You broke my heart and then delivered a fucking crystal ball to hit my chest! And I am too much?... Not me, you are! I'm done with you," she shook her head and stepped back, "I'm over with you, Kraig."

There wasn't a single person who could talk back to that considering they knew what she had said was right. Although they noticed that she was different from usual. She was reserved and aloof. However, that person was no longer present in their eyes. Where did her audacity come from? She used to be someone similar to a stone that was hidden under a pile of stones. Her existence was nothing; she was used to being ignored by everyone. But after Kraig transferred to their academy, she started to become visible in their eyes. From all the despicable things she had done to Tiana and her sick obsession towards Kraig, people saw her as a duplicate of her malevolent and terrifying mother.

"You thought he could like you back just the way you like him… but it doesn't work like that, Yanarym! It is just your selfishness!" Tiana exclaimed. "Why are you blaming Kraig when it's all your fault? He is a good person! He was good to you and this is how you repay his kindness?!"

"You talk as if good people don't know how to be bad, pea-brain." Yanarym laughed at her outburst, making Tiana flush from embarrassment. Her sudden confidence was too overwhelming for Tiana, it was upsetting her self-esteem. "Don't you see? He's exactly not the good person you pictured him to be," Yanarym added. "He could've only just stopped the ball from hitting you and yet he redirected it towards me the same way I did to try to kill you. But why? It's simply because I pissed him off. Anyone can be bad Tiana, even saints kill! So, don't you dare say another word about kindness and shits!"

Everyone was against her yet she stood her ground. None was willing to make a fool of themselves and question her accusations anymore. Maybe it was because she could finally have her taste of independence. She had always been served and defended by different men ever since the beginning of her journey leaping from a world and to another. Right now, she was all on her own. That made her feel so dominant and aggressive. She could conquer the world by herself.

"Don't try to act smart on me. With that IQ of yours, you won't outwit me no matter how hard you try." Tiana bowed her head down as her first sign of defeat against Yanarym. Her face was redder than ever. It was remarkably amusing for Yanarym to see the foolish female lead drown in humiliation because of her. Becoming the main villain is not so bad.

"ENOUGH, YANARYM!" Kraig shouted, he was silent for a long time. "You're right! I did that only because you deserved it! And I would gladly accept that I AM THE BAD GUY! Stop ruining Tiana's life, or else, I will never talk to you again." Instead of begging on her knees, Yanarym just scoffed at him, startling everyone who witnessed the drama.

"Yeah, yeah..." She said, looking at her nails out of boredom. It's clean and nice.

Kraig was perplexed by how Yanarym countered him. He had anticipated the contrary to her response. Her nonchalant reaction somehow bothered him when he should be pleased that the woman had lost interest in him. What's wrong with me? A question he could not answer.

"Are you even listening to me?" Kraig asked in disbelief.

"Are we done here? I want to change my attire," she muttered as she began to walk away from the crowd but Kraig unconsciously grabbed her arm. Yanarym glared at him. "Will you please refrain from touching me without my permission?"

"Did you hear me? Don't hurt Tiana anymore." It was a futile threat, he—himself appeared unsure of his statement.

"Why would I listen to you? No one bosses me around but me. If your girlfriend gets on my nerves again, I will make her suffer. And if she dared to hurt me, I would kill her. This is my life. You don't have the right to talk me into it." She shoved his hand off her for the third time. "Just do whatever you want that's not concerning me, prince charming, and I'd do the same for you. You could keep that bird brain of hers in check or something. I don't care anymore." Yanarym rolled her eyes, "We are now even, let's call this a truce."

"But why? Why don't you like me? Is it because I'm cursed? Are you disgusted by me?" Tiana squealed, Yanarym halted her footsteps before turning to look at the most irritating female lead she had encountered so far. I just said it was a truce! Why was this FL so eager to provoke me into a fight?! Yanarym crumbled and constrained her tongue from retorting.

She realized something though, the dumb FL just made herself a perfect scenario where Yanarym could expose her lie! Easy way to complete the task! Yanarym giggled, Tiana, you pea-brain. Why say a statement like that? You exposed yourself. She advanced to Tiana and whispered in a way people would still hear it, "Maybe your brain is surely the size of a pea. You are so stupid." Yanarym licked her bottom lip to prevent her excitement from showing and she stretched her arms. "You thought I'd buy that fake ignorance of yours? You're not cursed. How can I hate you for something you are not?"

The crowd was immediately enveloped by whispers coming from the students. No one was able to defend Tiana as most of them were rendered speechless by the unforeseen accusation towards the most liked person in town. Even some of them started to doubt her as they began to slowly realize what Yanarym said.

"What are you saying?" Kraig couldn't reckon the words pouring out of Yanarym's mouth. He bit his lower lip, "How could you know she lied about it?..." He paused, "You have no idea how much she's suffering because of the curse." Yanarym didn't get affected by it at all, rather she showed him the sweetest smile she could make. Tiana was hiding behind the male lead. At last, she had witnessed a couple from the original plot get together. She had nothing else to say but they were just simply match-made in heaven.
