Chapter 205 - SERENADE

Yanarym was surrounded by her friends and some classmates when Lawrence came into the field. Apparently, Lawrence was assigned to a big case and had a meeting that was over just minutes ago.

His co-worker wanted to take over his spot as the temporary instructor to the university for him to be able to focus on the case but he couldn't give it. he doesn't want to give it at least for today.

Today's class was supposed to be called off but he told the secretary of the department that he will be minutes late but he will teach. So, here he goes after rushing to the field. Students were circled on the corner and Yanarym was the center of it. A boy, her age brought a guitar and seemed to be serenading the class but in fact, everyone knew he was singing for her. Lawrence, who just arrived, knew that it was what was going on.

He looked at the girl he fancies and he could tell she's enjoying her limelight. He felt proud, with the fact that he was the only person she gave a chance to court her, and honestly, she deserves a spotlight with that beauty, and he's handsome, damn, they look good together. He sneaked into the crowd and placed himself behind Yanarym. The girls shrieked when they saw this action, they thought it was sweet and for the record, they had no idea that he was already courting their Diva because she didn't spill anything to them.

"Sorry, I'm late." He smiled at Yanarym when she turned around to see what her classmates were fussing about. She shrugged her shoulders and returned her attention to the boy who was performing. "Ignoring me?"

"Sir, the class is almost over." She said without looking back, it was a low tone voice but because the crowd silenced, they heard her. They started to gossip because of the attitude she was showing to him. Lawrence smiled, used to her frigid personality.

"Okay, class, listen. I came to say good news and bad news." He shouted and walked to the boy who was holding the guitar, "Do you mind?"

"Oh, yes, sir." The boy gave him the instrument. Lawrence sat on the chair and looked at Yanarym.

"So, what do you want to hear first?" The students looked at each other and then shifted their eyes in Yanarym. Pertaining that, she had the say on this one.

"The bad news," Yanarym said and the rest nodded as if to agree.

"The bad news is, this is my last day as your instructor." He said the female student made an, "Ow..." while the boys silently rejoiced.

"But you were here for just a week," Jana said.

"I know, I know, it's really disappointing but I was assigned on a big case as of now. So, my friend will replace me starting tomorrow."

"Wow, congrats on having a big case, sir." The guy who was singing earlier said, Lawrence, smiled at him, and strummed the guitar.

"Thank you."

"We're going to miss you, Sir Law!" Rachelle yelled and some of the girls seconded, he laughed at them, and to simmer them down he started playing a tone. When they silenced, he paused.

"Don't worry, I'm gonna stop by from time to time, so, who's ready for the good news?"

"Wasn't the big case the good news sir?"

"Of course not, I have big cases from time to time." He said in a surprised tone, intentionally bragging about his status. He's a big shot, that's what he was trying to show to Yanarym because, for some reason, she seemed not to know his worth.

"So, what's the good news?" He started to pull the string of the guitar then strummed it. He looked at Yanarym and started singing the serenading song.

He stared in Yanarym's direction as he sang the song wholeheartedly, locking their eyes to one another. Neither of them looked away, the girls shrieked in excitement not aware of what's happening but they were jittering like worms. Yanarym had a small smile in her expression, not even blushing with his effort. The boys grumbled silently, and some tapped the shoulders of the boy who was singing and serenading Yanarym earlier to give him comfort.

"Oh-em-gee, what's going on?" Jana asked Yanarym while hitting Eizelle's shoulder.

"Did he just serenade you?!" Eizelle didn't mind the pain that was caused by Jana and focused her eyes on her. Rachelle who was with them confirmed.

"He did, right?"

"You're right, I'm courting Yanarym so dudes should back off alright? That girl's mine." Before Yanarym could say anything, Lawrence declared it. He was never the jealous type of person, but he was clear in marking his territory.

"WOAH!" Everyone had a mixed reaction, some already knew it but were still surprised, some were heartbroken, some were surprise-surprise, some walked out, some gossiped, etc.

"REALLY?! Oh- MY GOD!"

"It's not like he's already my boyfriend, cut it off, girls." Yanarym walked in his direction, "You're embarrassing me." She creased her forehead and he just smiled at her. "And for the record, I belong to me, you get that?" With her fierce eyes stoned at him, Lawrence had the chills. He unconsciously saluted because of the surging power she made him feel.

"Yes, ma'am." She chuckled right after, and it astonished him. He's so into her. His gazes followed her footsteps back to her friends.

"Rym! Is that true?" Jana recovered and saw the interaction as her mouth wide open.

"Is that why there was a picture of you and him on the Pavillon?" Eizelle showed the photo that was taken on Saturday.

"How long has it been?" Rachelle added.

"You've totally fallen for his charm, didn't you?" Jana asked, Yanarym being interviewed all at once pat their shoulders.

"Easy, easy. First, he's the one who fell for me. Second, I gave him the chance last Saturday. Third, he's a catch, why not try?"

"Damn, you girl!" Rachelle hit her shoulder.

"I told you, if you're pretty you can have everything." Eizelle sighed, becoming a drama queen and Jana joined her.
