Chapter 84 - TWO PROLOGUE

Yanarym opened her eyes and felt like her head was spinning. There was a deafening flatline sound ringing in her ears. Her forehead creased in confusion when she felt like her body became light as a feather while her head was as heavy as a ton of rocks.

"Why does my head aching so much and why am I floating?"

Guide-sama: "You died in your last world when you hit your head on the solid cement. Due to the impact of your body on the vehicle and smashing your skull on the ground, the brain of your body shuts down."

"Oh, so you mean this is the aftertaste of dying from my last world?"

Guide-sama: "It is."

"You told me it was a painless death!" She hissed then felt her stomach turning upside down.

"Wait, I'm gonna throw up!" Yanarym declared covering her mouth with her palm. She pushed her body away from her captor, making her fall from the process. It was supposed to hurt but she felt nothing. She couldn't tell whether it was because of the alcohol or just the softness of the leaves she had landed on. She crawled her way to the nearest tree and barfed her guts out, she almost thought her whole stomach came out with it.

As soon as she was done recovering from her dramatic puking, Yanarym sat beside the tree and stared at the darkness enveloping the forest. Her vision was hazy and everything was muddled. She tried rubbing her temples before looking at the stranger who carried her all the way here.

The ambiance and the setting-shit! Although her brain was buzzing she tried comprehending the situation. She wouldn't like it if she was in a horror book, but she remembered reading lots of horror stories. So which one was she in then? Fuck!

"Guide-sama! The plot! Give me the plot!" Yanarym panicked but before she could hear Guide's voice, she noticed a movement from the stranger.

She looked at him wide-eyed and raised a palm at him. "Wait! Please don't move!" Yanarym yelled at the stranger. Just when her eyes had finally adjusted from the darkness, she was able to take a glimpse of his image.

OMG. An indigenous person?

Oh, wait. Was he a Mangyan? Or an Aeta perhaps? But why does he like a handsome Adonis in an Igorot outfit?

Again, what the hell?

"Bai. It is not good for you to walk with bare feet." The man said apathetically. Shocked, Yanarym only blinked at him.

Is this real? Why does it feel like she's in Amaya--the television series about Philippines History back in the 1500s? So, she's not in a horror story then? But she doesn't have this kind of book. She was not fond of history!

Yanarym took a deep breath as she processed the entire plot of the story. "Digesting these memories is a pain in the ass, you know," Yanarym complained to Guide-sama but it got no reaction. She was still annoyed by the aftertaste of the recent death.

"Wait! Maki!" She exclaimed, signaling him not to move from his spot. "Water---I need water. I'm very thirsty." Yanarym said to the man assertively.

He stared at her coldly, "As you wish, Bai."

Once he was out of sight, Yanarym plopped down on the ground and kicked a pile of dried leaves near her feet in frustration. "Guide-sama? History?! Really?!" She exclaimed. "Why did you send me here--in Lapu-Lapu's era where WiFis and mobile phones don't exist?! How will I survive?!"

Guide-sama: "Why worry about material things when you are about to die either way?"

She flailed her arms as she protested with her intense whispering. "You see, I'm a 20th-century person. So will you please reconsider? Maybe we can still transfer!"

Guide-sama: "I am sorry, Yanarym, but it does not work that way. You can not just change worlds to your liking."

Yanarym paused for a moment. "So, what? What will happen to me? If I die here right now, will I be transferred to another world?"

Guide-sama: "You can not do that, Yanarym. You are not allowed to die until the time limit. If you die, whether it would be intentional or unintentional, you will suffer the consequences."

"What do you mean? I don't want to be here. There's no internet, no delicious food, no cake, no milk teas, no books, and no movies!"

Guide-sama: "You must first complete your given tasks to proceed to the next world,"

"Still, why does it have to be here?!" She cried, knocking on another pile of dirt.

She wasn't wearing any footwear, just like the people in the famous historical television series she had watched back in her first world. Even her clothes were too similar. Underwear such as bras and panties were not yet developed here, so she could only feel covered with shorts below her layered skirt while her top was a cropped t-shirt with a V-neckline.

Her privates were completely covered, though the fabric was too thin to conceal her protruding nipples. She swiftly veiled them with her dark long hair, which reminds her--- reserved clothing like Maria Clara's is not the fashion trend in Lapu-Lapu's era anyway.

Maki, the young man who carried her drunk self, returned with a coconut shell in his hand. She gawked at it. There's not even a decent water container?

She may be the type of person who only takes a shower once in a while, but she still won't drink from that dirty shell with water. She doesn't even know where it came from! All she knows is for sure, it's not purified!

Guide-sama: "This is one of the cleanest eras, Yanarym. The water they use for drinking is naturally purified by nature itself."

Yanarym did not say anything further. She drank the water Maki had given her to rinse her mouth from the nasty aftertaste of her vomit. She gulped the rest down, easing her dry throat.. She guessed she was too thirsty.
