24 The final duo

The finals of the duo tournament were held today. Wang Wei and Long Yue were up against Zang Xinyu and Wenxuan Xie. The two beauties originating from glory academy.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Today we have the final round of the duo tournament. It is Wang Wei and Long Yue against Zhang Xinyu and Wenxuan Xie. "Hey girls, long time no see." Wang Wei said with a big smile on his face.

As the girls started to blush Zhang Xinyu stepped forward. She was a pretty girl who had fair skin and beautiful long black hair down her back. "You may be handsome but we will not give up so easily as we also want to win this competition."

"Good we wouldn't want it any different way." Long Yue said.

"Competitors get ready!" the commentator said.

As the starting signal was given for the fight the two girls immediately summoned their martial souls and Zhang Xinyu used her first soul technique. It was an orange soul jewel it was at least three hundred years old judging by how clear it was. The soul technique was called: strengthening melody. As she played her flute Wenxuan Xie was getting a strength boost. She was stronger by twenty percent.

"So you're a support type soul expert. That will be a little inconvenient but in the end, we will win." Wang Wei said.

"Don't be so sure of that!" Wenxuan Xie said as her soul jewel also started to glow.

The next moment she started running towards the duo from victory academy and jumped in the air. She then used her soul technique dazzling swan. She was quite skilled at it but not fast enough as Long Yue continuously dodged her attacks. After a while, the two duos returned to their starting positions.

"Look at them. They are exhausted." Long Yue said to Wang Wei as he pointed towards the two girls who were heavily panting. "You think it is time to finish this?"

"No, let's have some more fun. Shall we?" Wang Wei said.

The next instant the girls ran towards the boys again but this time Wenxuan Xie attacked Long Yue and Zhang Xinyu attacked Wang Wei. This was a strategy that worked better because Wang Wei was not as fast as Long Yue. However, Long Yue was just as strong as Wang Wei in terms of strength so to attack him the same way Wenxuan Xie attacked Wang Wei was just wasting energy. But then Wenxuan Xie launched her soul technique again. As Long Yue was blinded he received a kick to the face. He then was sent flying for a few meters. As Wang Wei saw this he was distracted and was hit by Zhang Xinyu. She didn't use her flute this time she kicked him in the face as well. Wang Wei was also sent flying only not as far because the strengthening melody did not work on Zhang Xinyu herself.

"Just use your soul techniques. You can't defeat us if you don't use them. Hehe." Zhang Xinyu said.

"Yeah, even though Wang Wei has a thousand-year-old soul jewel it is just one. You don't have what it takes to defeat two glory academy students without using soul techniques!" Wenxuan Xie added.

"I think it has been enough. Don't you think Long Yue?" Wang Wei said.

"I've been waiting for you to say that." Long Yue said as he got up.

"Wait." Wang Wei said. He then proceeded to whisper something in Long Yue' ear. "Just stick to the individual technique and martial arts. We will use our soul techniques in the trio finals. It will shock them so bad that they will lose focus. So for now just stick with individual techniques."

"Hmpf, fine!" Long Yue said with a bitter smile on his face.

The next moment Long Yue walked towards the girls as his holy claws appeared. He stopped when he was twenty meters away from them. After that Wang Wei joined him with his snake claws brandished and his defensive scales out.

"So you think you can beat us without using your soul techniques? That is just wishful thinking." Wenxuan Xie said with a grin on her face. "I will make you pay for what you did to Long Sha."

But the next moment the grin on her face disappeared as Long Yue appeared before her in an instant and hit her in the guts. She then flew away and went out of bounds. Which meant she couldn't fight anymore today. He then returned to Wang Wei' side.

"Good job. You didn't injure her too much right? She can still fight tomorrow?" Wang Wei said.

"Of course. I'm not a monster." Long Yue said. "Anyways, I will be waiting for you." He said as he exited the stage.

Now only Wang Wei and Zhang Xinyu stood on the stage.

Zhang Xinyu was the first to make a move as she ran towards Wang Wei. He then took one step back and then threw out a spinning back kick which sent Zhang Xinyu flying.

"The winners are Wang Wei and Long Yue from victory village. If this isn't even their strongest I don't think they will be beaten in the trio competition either." The commentator said as the crowd went wild.
