Chapter 1388 Pity And Shame

"Oh, please don't worry about that. Lady Linda is a very kind and caring person. I know she will be able to help you,"

Bun said cheerily as she stretched a hand out to Helen who had been sitting on the floor. Linda made her way towards them.

"You said you wanted to borrow 500, 000 to treat your son?"

Helen meekly nodded and looked right into Linda's eyes. "Y-Yes, My Lady."

"Do you think you can pay it back?" Linda asked bluntly.

This caused Helen to take a step back in surprise.

Bun also glanced at Linda with a wry look.

Linda seemed to be acting strange today.

In the past, Linda was always willing to give her money to those who needed it without expecting anything in return. A measly amount of 500, 000 was of such little quantity, yet now, Linda was practically insinuating that Helen should pay her back for it.

"Answer me,"

Linda demanded aggressively. Helen hesitated.

"I-I... No, My Lady. I will not be able to repay it. I shouldn't have asked. I apologize, My Lady."

Bun narrowed her eyes at Linda, wondering what was going on with her. She couldn't believe that Linda, the kindhearted, selfless Linda that she knew, would say such a thing.

Bun lashed at her, saying, "My Lady, I am willing to shoulder the expenses if you are reluctant to hel

lowed to go in! Come back at four in the afternoon."

"Oh, we're not here to pick up our children. We're looking for a teacher, actually."

"Which one?"

Linda looked at Helen, motioning for her to speak. Helen swallowed the lump in her throat and spoke, "It's Miss Li. We're looking for Miss Li, sir. The teacher of Nursery Class 2."

The security guard raised an eyebrow. He seemed suspicious of these people.

"Very well. Please wait here, I have to call the teacher to confirm your visit," he said, before turning back to his post to dial the class's extension number.

"Hello, is this Miss Li? There are three women here at the gate. They said they're here to see you."

"Oh? Who are they?"

"They didn't leave a name, Miss."

"Very well. I'll come over in a few minutes. Don't let them in. They might not be good people."

"Okay, Miss!"
