Chapter 1331 If She Had Known It Earlier

Mamie didn't leave the bathroom until she had calmed down a bit.

As soon as she came out, Devin walked up to her with a look of concern and asked, "Babe, how are you? Are you still feeling unwell?"

"No, I was just a little queasy. It's all right now."

"That's good. You need to take care of yourself even more now that you are pregnant. Please let me know if there's anything I can do. I should have hired someone to look after you."

"There's no need for that. I can take care of myself."

"Oh, I disagree. Don't forget, you're taking care of two people now. I'd better find a nanny to take good care of you."

Mamie didn't say anything else after she heard what Devin had said.

She just gazed at him blankly, her mind completely preoccupied by Jessie's words. What was going to happen at the zoo?

Why would Jessie ask her to take Devin to the zoo?

Nothing seemed to make sense anymore...

Perhaps she was missing something, something that she had failed to notice.

Jessie wouldn't h

den?"

"I want to see a panda!"

Devin pulled Mamie into his arms. He gently brushed her short hair with his fingers and said, "Of course. We will go wherever you want to go. Then we're set for tomorrow. I'll take you to buy some clothes first, and you can buy anything you want. Then we'll go to the zoo after that. What do you think?"

Mamie only nodded, barely registering parts of the discussion on her mind, which was occupied elsewhere. As she lay next to Devin, she picked at the ambivalent feelings that swirled in her brain like a whirlpool.

If she had known it back then, she would have never gone into this arrangement with Jessie just for some money.
