Chapter 552 What Have You Done to My Sister

Charles frowned at Cindy's far-fetched accusation and looked at her in confusion.

"What?" he asked, baffled.

"Charles, my sister is a great woman. Any man will be proud to have her. She is one in a million. But guess what? You've probably broken her heart. How could you treat her like that?" Cindy asked, getting angrier with each word.

Still half-asleep, Charles tried to process the tirades that Cindy was throwing at him. He'd only just come out of the bedroom. He had no idea why Cindy, Linda's dear younger sister, was going at him like that.

Still not in the right state of mind to ponder over it, Charles straightforwardly asked her,"What do you mean? I can't read minds. Spell it out for me."

His voice started to rise, coupled with a stern tone and it frightened Cindy, who wondered whether she had been too aggressive towards her brother-in-law.

She didn't really mean to irritate him.

She immediately changed her tone of voice and softly said,"Charles, I didn't mean to be rude. I just hope that you could treat my sister better."

Her words didn't clear anything up and make it better for Charles. In fact, he only became more perplexed. How on earth had he mistreated Linda? What the hell was this girl in front of him talking about? Why was Cindy being so weird, first thing in the morning? Did she eat something strange just now?

"Cindy, I still have no idea what you're talking about," Charles said, as they coming to the dining room and had breakfast. He sat beside Linda after she went back from checking the babies, and after a tender glance at her, he began having his breakfast.

Although Cindy was scared of Charles, she was more worried about Linda's safety and happiness. So she mustered up some more courage, bit her lower lip and said bravely,"Charles, do you know that it is wrong to hit a woman?" She looked down, away from Charles, as soon as she said it. "I know that men are physically stronger than women. But must you rub it in her face? Please never intimidate my sister with your physical strength again," she added.

Charles stopped chewing and froze for a few seconds. 'What on earth? I know that it is wrong to hit a woman. But when did I ever do that?' Charles thought, furrowing his eyebrows.

Amused, he put down his chopsticks, looked at Cindy and asked,"When did I ever hit your sister?"

He was willing to give Linda anything she asked for. He would even give her the moon and the stars if she wanted them. How could he possibly hit someone he loved so much?

But it wasn't just Linda, Charles wouldn't lay his hand on any woman. He wasn't raised that way.

During the whole exchange, Linda kept silent, squirming in her seat, trying her best to control her laughter. She never expected Cindy to take Bun's words so seriously and actually confront her husband about it.

Linda's face became bright red as she tried to control her laughter. She looked away to hide her face, but her shoulders was shaking pretty obvious.

ss of milk for Paul. "Paul, this tea egg is also tasty. Open your mouth and have a try," added Cindy.

The other people sat at the table, quietly eating their breakfast, while Cindy, who kept talking like an excited sparrow during mating season.

Paul was especially silent, but Linda and Charles would whisper to each other from time to time.

Cindy felt helpless because nobody gave her any reaction or response. She pursed her lips in displeasure. Looking at Linda and Charles bantering endearingly in front of her, Cindy felt even more gloomy. How she hoped that she could cuddle with Paul like a couple too!

After finishing breakfast, Linda and Charles stood up, getting ready to go back to their bedroom. But before they could leave their seats, Cindy quickly chewed the food in her mouth and swallowed. Then she gulped a glass of water and looked up to remind Charles again,"Charles, don't forget what I said earlier. Don't hit my sister anymore. It's not right to hit a woman. We are living in a new era, and those things are barbaric!"

Charles turned his head around to look at Cindy, and then held on to Linda's waist. "Cindy, do you know what a hickey is?" asked Charles.

As he finished his question, Charles unwrapped the scarf around Linda's neck. His sudden action startled Linda very much.

"Hickey? What's that? I haven't heard of it before," Cindy said, twitching her nose in confusion.

Pointing at the kiss marks on Linda's neck, Charles explained,"Look here; these are hickeys. They are not bruises that appear when you hit or slap someone." If Cindy weren't Linda's younger sister, Charles wouldn't have the slightest patience to explain such a silly thing to her. Instead, he might have already had her thrown away from the villa.

"But I still can't understand it. They look like bruises, wounds... If they were not because you hit her, then what else have you done to my sister? Have you used some other sort of violence?" Cindy asked, her eyes widening.
