Chapter 268 268 Sleeping on the Couch

"Silly girl. I am glad that you are doing so well. Everyone keeps holding you. You don't get a lot of time to lay and explore your surroundings. I know that you are happy in people's arms and that you do not have a choice but I think there are some points in time where you should sleep in the cradle or crib." Kitty looked at the two in the room. "If she is asleep and is in the cradle or crib make sure that she stays there. You won't be able to hold her all the time when she is asleep especially as she gets bigger. Let's not make a habit out of this, okay?"

"Yes, Mother. I understand what you are saying. I will make sure to not move Charlette unless she gets fussy. I just really wanted to hold her. Do you think that she will get overwhelmed by all the people here in the house?" Luke looked at Charlette.

"I do not think that will be an issue. She will get used to all the people here. It is not an easy thing to deal with, no one here wants to be the one that disturbs the baby's sleep. She is loved by everyone here and there is nothing that will change everyone in this house from loving her. Even Tiana is in love with her." Kitty laid down on the couch and laid Charlette on her arm and she looked down at her and smiled. "I for one am happy." Kitty fell asleep on the couch hold Charlette who was gurgling and moving around.

"Mother must have been really tired." Luke looked at the two. Then sat on the floor to make Charlette did not fall off the couch.

Leo woke up at six in the morning he got out of bed, got dressed, and went to the nursery. When he did not find anyone in there he went downstairs to the living room. Leo pulled out his phone and took a picture of Kitty sleeping with Charlette in her arms and Luke whose head was resting next to Charlette's. Charlette's little hand was grasping Luke's hair. "So adorable." He freed Luke's hair and picked up Charlette. He placed her in the cradle and then sat on the chair. "Good morning, Stella."

"Good morning, Leo. As you can see Kitty fell asleep on the couch after feeding Charlette. That was around four in the morning." Stella saw that Charlette was in the cradle sleeping soundly. "I didn't think that it was my job to take the little one from Kitty so I left her in Kitty's arms."

"That is alight there is nothing that can be done about them falling asleep on the couch and Luke is overprotective. He would do anything to protect the baby and Kitty. She is the reason that everything is falling in place. I merely wanted to keep anything from happening." Leo stretched and walked towards the dining room.

Stella followed Leo and wondered what he could be up to. 'I am still new to what happens in this household and this is not even a normal household. It is strange to think that I am being kept by a hunter.'

Leo went into the kitchen, he turned on the water kettle, then walked to the cupboard, pulled out a tea set and a coffee mug. He walked back to the water and set everything down. He went to another cupboard, he picked out his coffee beans and an assortment of herbs. 'Think, think I should make a sweeter type of tea this morning. She is going to be exhausted so I will make her something that will help. The mixture should be something with green tea, mint, maybe chamomile, dried strawberries, hmmm I feel like there is something else I could add in this.' He takes everything back to the pot and slowly mixes it in.

Stella watched as Leo made the tea mixture with fascination. 'Is he making tea for Kitty? That is so sweet.'

Carlos stepped into the kitchen and saw what Leo was making, "add in some honey before the water gets added. It will sweeten the tea naturally. Also, I was thinking now that Kitty can eat eggs I would make a traditional breakfast with eggs, hash browns, bacon, and toast." He stepped in and washed his hands and he didn't pay any attention to Stella.

Nathan walked in after Carlos keeping to himself. 'Pregnancy does strange things to a person.'

Kitty woke up on the couch, she sat up and blinked her eyes a few times. She saw the cradle and smiled. 'Leo must have moved her to the cradle. I am grateful that he is so attentive.' She stayed there on the couch trying to focus on getting up but sitting up was difficult so she laid back down. 'Too much blood taken and I can see everyone's essence so clearly, it's terrifying.' She covered her eyes listening to the sounds of the household waking up.

Leo finished setting up the tea and added the honey at Carlos's suggestion. He placed the coffee beans in the hand grinder and turned the handle causing the beans to get coarsely ground. He placed the beans in the french press, then he poured the boiling water into both pots. "Thank you for the advice, Carlos. I think that a traditional breakfast would be nice. I know that Kitty will like to eat eggs again. I doubt that it is not easy to skip out of eating something that you are used to eating." Leo placed the tea supplies on the tray, then gently pressed the ground beans into the water, and lastly, he pressed the top of the french press down slowly drawing the coffee bean flavor out of the beans. Once all that was down he added it to the tray and he carried it to the living room where he sat down next to Kitty. "How are you feeling, my love?"
