Chapter 253 253 To Unite or Not to Unite Different Clans?

Luke handed Charlette to Kitty and watched as she left with her in her arms. "I was surprised that Mother came down and picked up Charlette. I wonder if now that the baby has been born that Kitty will be able to tell when Charlette is awake? I guess none of us will have the answer to that." He feels a slight loss of warmth in his arms and gets up to help set to the kitchen table.

Kitty laid Charlette down on the bed and watches as she kicks her legs. One of the legs brushes Leo's arm and he opens his eyes. "How do you feel, Darling?"

"That was a painful process but I am alright. There are no powers that come without losing something. I am getting used to the new scents and even new sensations but it was all worth it so that I can be with you for the rest of our days. I will no longer only live for the short life span of a human." Leo was looking Kitty in the eyes and he looked down at their daughter, "hello my little princess. I see that mommy is here to feed you as well as wake me up. So you eat first and then I will hold you."

Charlette makes coo and goo sounds.

Kitty picks up Charlette to feed her the milk and then burps her gently. "Good girl."

Leo got up and out of bed. On his head were a pair of black ears that twitched with all the little sounds that could be heard within the house. He stretched out his body and then came back to the bed. He took Charlette from Kitty. Her small body was engulfed in his arms again. "I am glad that you both are doing well. I was worried that you guys would struggle but you both seem to be doing well. Our daughter may be a bit on the small size but she came into this world healthy and that is all I wanted."

"Yes, our little princess is healthy and here now. I will do all that I can to protect the two of you. I know that I have made things complicated for you but at the same time, I have made some things easier for you. I will teach you how to hide your ears and tail tomorrow before you head out to get your work done. I can feel you in my family loop now which is amazing. I know that I will not have to suffer a loss as long as we get the treaty between the association and my clan signed. Then our people will not need to suffer anymore." Kitty got out of bed and stood next to Leo.

"Our people, I like the sound of that. I am now one of your people and I would not have it any other way." Leo held on to Charlette and the two left the room.

Kitty followed them out of the room but instead of heading downstairs she poked her head into the study and saw that it was almost finished. "I will have to keep Charlette downstairs so that she will not be disturbed from all the noise that John will create while finishing this room. So far, Charlotte has been a quiet girl but that does not mean that she will not make noise. It has not even been half a day and it is hard to predict how she will react when loud noises happen. When this gets finished I will ask Luke to help me get the books upstairs and then I will put all the books away."

"I think that is a good idea. I have a bit of a silly question and it does have to do with Charlette." Leo had followed her and saw that the room was coming along rather nicely and was happy that the room was how Kitty had wanted it to look. "I know that you are a hybrid. You are both a witch and a fox demon. How will this affect our daughter? Will she be more one than the other?" he asks this as the two starts to walk down the stairs.

"There is no such thing a silly question, especially when it has to do with the supernatural. She will be more fox demon. You are a fox demon even though you were a human when she was conceived. She may have some witch blood but it is only a quarter of her genetics. It is not like me who is half and half. Charlette will not suffer as I have. She is lucky that she is more of a fox demon than a witch. Although this is mostly just me guessing. She is one of the first to be born from a hybrid and their mate. Remember that I am one of the first to live this long. There are only two others that I know that have survived and their case is different than mine." Kitty walked down the stairs.

Leo followed behind Kitty and listened to what she was saying. "So you do not know what is going to happen? The other two have to be Sylvie and Ketan. I think that is rough that only the three of you have survived but at the same time, it makes perfect sense. If you have that many powerful beings run around and procreate it could mess with the way things are done. I think that the supernatural should be careful about who they choose as their partners."

"I do agree with you there but I also do agree with the fox demons and werewolves uniting though. They are similar in genetic makeup. It is like with warlocks and witches when they can procreate. There are male witches and female warlocks but back in the day, the two different clans merged and now that are generalized as witches and warlocks by gender rather than themselves proclaiming to be one or the other. That is an example of a proper merger of clans. The genetic makeup of the clans is something that does need to be taken into consideration. With the way that both werewolves and foxes transform and the fact that they are close in genetics it would actually be wise to untie those clans." They walk into the living room having this discussion.
