~School~

On getting to school, Sakiko didn't see Sasuke. He wasn't in the class of the next either. She was practically the first student to arrive in class that day.

Sighing, she took a deep breath and braced herself for the start of a new day.

She walked tirelessly to her seat and gently placed her back on the desk.

Bringing out her phone, she tried his number to to be sure he wasn't somewhere else in school.

Beep! Beep!

"The number you are trying to reach is... "

She clicked on the red icon and hung the call. Honestly she didn't want to hear what the network operator was saying since she could already guess it.

She failed the number again... Beep! Beep!

"The number... " she removed the phone from her ear and ended it.

She braced herself to try one last time and hoped, prayed for him to switch on his phone, but the results where the same.

She got frustrated and dropped her phone on her desk. She couldn't tell what was going on, but she knew something was definitely up.

She decoded to give it some time and try again later.

Not long, other students began trooping into the class in twos, threes, alone or in group.

---

The first class went on as usual, but there was still no sign on Sasuke. Soon the second period came, but no sign of him anywhere.

Sakiko was growing rather impatient. She could barely contain her agitation. As every now and then, which ever person that came into the class or passed by, she would gaze intently at the. , hoping he was the one.

Soon it was the last period before break and Father Tanaka drove in. Finally there was a little bit of hope. With her gaze not leaving the window, she waited, waited... The same result.

Father Tanaka came down from the car alone and headed into the school building.

Her disappointment was growing by the second and she couldn't do anything about it.

Wait!

She could.

All she had to do was wait for the class to be over and then she would dash off to his office and find out what was wrong.

About three minutes to the end of the period, Sakiko saw a figure from the corner of her eyes, walked out from the school building.

She quickly turned her head to get a clear view of the person. It was none other than Father Tanaka.

"What! He is leaving." She almost shouted in class when she saw him approach his car.

Sakiko turned her head and picked on her wrist watch. It was two more minutes before the bell went off.

"Please, please, please, please stay!!" She pleaded in her mind.

"Just a minute and thirty seconds more. Don't go," she pleaded silently.

A teacher ran out of the school building and headed straight for Father Tanaka. Instantly she released the breath she had been holding in.

Right now, it was fifty seconds remaining till the bell was rung indicating the end of the period.

But as short as fifty second was, it felt like eternity to Sakiko.

Tic Tock! Tic Tock!!

She peered at her watch again and at the same time feigned being serious to prevent the wandering eyes of their teacher.

Twenty seconds more and she stole a quick glance outside. Her heart kept when she saw the teacher walk away and Father Tanaka walking to the front seat.

"Oh no, please don't go... Just a minute more and I'll be right there," she mentally pleaded.

Ring! Ring!

Like lightning, Sakiko didn't waste a second and speed out the class door.

By the time she ran out, not many students were in the hall way, only a few had come out from their classes.

Passing and avoiding the students, she increased her pace and ran to the car pack.

The moment she got outside...

VROOM! VROOM!

Father Tanaka drove out of the school compound.

THUD! THUD!

Her heart began to this fast and hard against her chest. Frustratedly she gazed at her watch. It was thirty five seconds past the break time.

She had ran at her fastest speed but it still wasn't enough. He left.

Not eating that morning, coupled with the fact that she just ran, her eyes began to spin in their sockets.

She stood there for another five minutes, she didn't have the strength to move, she just wanted to wait, possibly for him.

Sakiko knew she was going to fall down any time soon. She was tired, very very tired and frustrated.

"The wait can be frustrating at times," a familiar voice said from behind her.

She managed to turn to look at the owner of the familiar voice.

"But in the end, it would just be worth it," Akamine added.

"What?!"
