Anwyn thought for a few seconds and asked, “You mentioned killing Noe Clerico repeatedly, how strong are you?”

“Not as strong as you are, Devil Overlord.” Kain humbly answered.

“How about dueling with some of my guards? If you win, I will grant Evienne a small land where she can build her castle and doesn’t have to serve as one of my guards.”

“And if I lose?”

“Such a dumb question. You will die if you lose.”

“I thank you for this kind opportunity. Unfortunately, I must refuse. I can’t use the [Devil Anatomy] spell until tomorrow. Fighting with other Devils without using my Devil Form wouldn’t be fair for me as there was no way I could win.”

“I command you to fight with my guards regardless if you can use your [Devil Anatomy] spell or not.”

Couldn’t hold his tongue anymore, Kain smirked and said, “You should listen to Evienne. Angering me wouldn’t bring you any benefit.”

“Did you just use such a disrespectful tone speaking with the Overlord?” Thomas angrily asked.

“Thomas, enough is enough. Evienne and I will leave this place together. Either open the gate for us to leave peacefully or else."

"You have just threatened the wrong person, Kain Bersk!" Thomas angrily stated.

Ignoring Thomas's anger, Kain turned toward Evienne and said, "Evienne, help me fight with those Devils and we will find a way out of here. Trust me, I won't allow harm to come to you.” Kain flexed his Vampire Wings and took out his Soul-Bound Magical Diamond Ice Spear then got into the fighting stance as he was ready to fight.

Evienne smirked, looked at Kain, shook her head, and mockingly said, “I wouldn’t dare to upset the Overlord. Forgive me, Kain Bersk. I don't trust you. I can't trust such a powerless being such as yourself. You shouldn't have deactivated [Devil Anatomy] in the first place. There is no way for you to get out of here alive now. I'm not stupid enough to help you fight against the Overlord.”

“Did you mean that you won’t help me fight them back?” Kain asked.

"I wish that I can slay you myself. As your Soul-Bound Creature, doing so would anger the Creator that was why I won't kill you myself. Kain, don't expect any help from me, that is the least I can do to help you."

"Are you betraying me, Evienne? You have one chance to make the right decision. Either you are with me now and we will still be companions, or against me and become my enemy."

Instead of answering Kain, Evienne looked away and didn’t say anything else to him. Kain nodded his head in acknowledging her answer, and said, “Evienne, you have failed my test.”

“Test? What test?” Evienne turned around and asked Kain.

“The loyalty test. I was expecting you would help me fight back those Devils and escape this castle together. You disappointed me, Evienne.”

Anwyn laughed and said, “Kain Bersk, looks like Evienne doesn’t want to be your Soul-Bound Creature anymore. As a welcoming gift for her to become one of my guards, I shall execute you to break the bond between you and Evienne.”

Kain smiled and said, “Evienne, you betrayed me first. Don’t be surprised when the time comes. And you, Anwyn, we shall see each other again soon.”

“You can’t leave this place, Kain Bersk. I have casted a very powerful magical barrier preventing all portals to be connected to this castle. I know you are using your astral form. Even so, you won’t be able to go back to your physical body as long as my magical barrier is still working."

Anwyn then waved her hand and gave out a command, "Guards, kill him!”

Kain’s Second Soul who was staying with Kimaris deactivated [Second Soul] spell, allowing him to become the main version as the Kain inside Anwyn’s castle disappeared in an instant.

Standing in front of Kimaris, Kain shook his head and said in a disappointed tone, “Evienne betrayed me.”

Kimaris said, “No surprise there. Devils can’t be trusted. What are you going to do now, Kain Bersk?”

“A hundred years from now, I will come back here using my physical form. I will use my overwhelming power to destroy the Devil Overlord’s castle and kill Evienne to grant her the wish that she always wanted, which was to be free from being bound to my Conjurer Soul. I will then defeat the Devil Overlord and force her to agree to be bound to my Conjurer Soul or I will kill her and do the same thing for any future Devil Overlord that was going to be chosen.”

“Force the Overlord to be your Soul-Bound Creature or you will kill her?”

“Why not?”

“That is insane, but I fully support it. If you need my help, I will be there to fight alongside you. I have been dreaming of having an opportunity to kill that bitch the moment she killed my Ursula.”

“No need to. No disrespect, but your physical power can't even be strong enough to defeat a regular Devil Warrior. I will leave now and be back in a hundred years.”

Kain's honesty about Kimaris couldn't even defeat a regular Devil Warrior didn't hurt his feelings. Kimaris nodded and said, "Farewell, I will see you in a hundred years then."

Kain deactivated the [Astral Projection] spell, forcing his astral form to come back to his physical form in less than three seconds. Opening his eyes, Kain saw Jaane was looking at him with her beautiful green eyes. Kain smiled and warmly said, “Jaane.”

Jaane smiled and greeted Kain back, “Kain.”

Continuing smiling, Kain kissed Jaane on her forehead, and said, “If I kill all humans on this planet, will you be against me?”

“I won't support you committing such a hideous action. But I will always be by your side regardless of what decision you will make whether it is good or bad.”

“Even when I decided to mercilessly massacre the human race for pure entertainment?”

“My heart will ache for the human race, but nothing you do will change the love I have for you.”

Being just betrayed by Evienne, Kain was happy to hear Jaane say that. Knowing someone will always be there for him regardless of what kind of action he is going to take. Kain smiled and warmly kissed Jaane on her lips then peacefully spent that night with her in bed.
