Book 3: Chapter 2 (5/7)

Name:Twin Soul Author:Zskyph
Before Kain could say anything, Zemelda begged Lucius, “Father, please kneel in front of him or he will kill you.”

Lucius turned around and saw his daughter, Princess Zemelda was kneeling on the ground. He angrily shouted, “What happened? Why are you kneeling? Stand up!”

Adrik called Lucius's name, “Emperor Acilianus.”

“King Volsky, why are you kneeling too?”

“The Demon Lord that defeated and brought you here is serving him. Just like you, I was defeated and witnessed his incredible physical strength. Being able to kneel in front of this man is an honor, not a shame.”

“Nonsense. I am the Emperor-”

Before Lucius could finish bragging about himself, Kain’s fiery greatsword cut his head off in a blink of an eye. Kain then gave the order for Amdusias to revive Lucius. Lucius was quickly revived and this time he didn’t even bother to say anything as he threw his shame away and knelt on the ground in front of Kain.

Kain nodded his head in satisfaction as he said, “You have made the right decision. Because if I kill you again, no one will dare to revive you after that. You can raise your head to look at how my children feast on your people. If you dare to stand up or make a move to save any Demi-Human, I will destroy your entire Empire.”

Like Adrik, Etgar, Zemelda, and the Blood Mages, Lucius was horrified to see how the Demon Lords and massive Demon Armies killed and ate Demi-Humans like food. Lucius thought to himself, “If I don’t do anything, my people that live in this capital city will all die. But if I do something, my life and the lives of all Demi-Humans of the Dryarian Empire will be annihilated. For the sake of the entire Empire, I won’t do anything.”

Lucius didn’t know Kain was a magic caster, but concluding by Kain's physical appearance, he begged, “Almighty Devil Warrior, I surrendered my throne to you. All I’m asking for is please pardon my people. More than a billion Demi-Humans are living in this city. Please… please don’t kill them all.”

Kain laughed out loud and said, “Who cares your stupid throne? I have decided on making Benil city an example, and it shall be done. I want to create a message for this entire planet to know that any nation that dares to stand against me, will face these consequences. Any nation submits to me, will be able to live happily.”

To speed up the process of massacre Demi-Humans in Benil city, Kain allowed Amdusias to join the battle as well as he watched and laughed in happiness. Knowing no one would dare to object to him anymore, Kain deactivated his [Devil Anatomy] spell to reserve his blood pools. Even without using the power of a Devil, Kain’s physical strength of a Vampire Mutant was strong enough not to be afraid of anybody. If needed, Kain could always conjure his Soul-Bound Creature, Evienne Lucifuge, a powerful Devil Warrior.

After six hours of silence, Adrik gathered his courage and asked, “Kain Bersk, what is your plan with the Rogue Mages?”

Continuing to smile, Kain said, “What about them?”

“Are you going to kill them?”

“Why would I? You are their King, aren’t you? You have chosen to serve me, did you?”

“Yes, I will loyally serve you.”

“Good. Then those Rogue Mages will be allowed to live. If any of them question my power, I will grant them a free ticket to the afterlife.”

“Understood. I will keep the Rogue Mages in line. None of them will go against you or your rules.”

At this time, Watcher Tykan had reached the maximum duration of how long he could control Kain’s body for the month. But because Tykan didn’t want Kain to know anything about it, he spoke with Kain telepathically, “Kain, I will now release this body back to you. You may be angry at me for causing such chaos in Benil city on the very first day when you came back to this planet. But believe me, everything I have done was for the best of your future. When Kimaris brings Prime Minister Ateia Ordia back, you should make her submit to you as I have done to her Emperor. If you want to destroy the Mages Council and rebuild it in your way, then you will need the help of the Demi-Humans. Despite being much weaker compared to you, their empire controlled forty percent of the Toria Continents. Their massive armies can help you subdue any nations that dare to help the Mages Council to go against you. As an apology, I promised not to control your body for the next thirty days.”

Kain remained silent as he was still angry that Tykan controlled his body for that long. After thorough thinking, Kain said, “Watcher Tykan, can you guarantee that you won’t control my body again for the next thirty days?”

“Yes, you have my word.”

“It doesn't matter what I do, you wouldn’t interfere, is that correct?”

“That is correct.”

“Okay then. Give me back my body.”

Watcher Tykan then was forced to release Kain’s body back to him as the duration had reached the maximum. But of course, Kain didn’t know about it and thought Tykan kept his word by releasing his body back to him to allow him to freely control his body for the next thirty days.

Kain turned around, walked toward Master Whistler, and said, “Master Whistler, are you mad at me for treating you like that?”

Andrella was happy that Kain helped her to become a Saint Blood Mage but was scared of how powerful and ruthless he had become. Even so, when being asked by Kain, Andrella truthfully said, “The way you look at me earlier gave me the chill to my bone. I felt like you could have killed me at any time.”

“I’m sorry if I have scared you earlier. I was… very irate. Will you forgive me, Master Whistler?”

“You didn’t do anything wrong, my genius pupil.” Andrella wouldn’t dare to say otherwise while touching Kain’s face using her shaking hands.

Kain smiled, hugged Andrella, and whispered into her ears, “Even if I kill everybody in this world, I will try the best I can to not kill you, Master Whistler.” Andrella was very happy to hear that. She hugged Kain back but still trembling in fear.

Several minutes later, Kain stopped hugging Andrella, scanned everyone that was kneeling on the ground, and said, “You all may stand now.”

Adrik, Etgar, Mival, Robert, Zemelda, Lucius, and the Blood Mages slowly stood up per Kain’s permission. Kain thought to himself, “Perhaps Watcher Tykan was right. If I waste time by hiding my true power, then the Blood Mages, Rogue Mages, and Demi-Humans wouldn’t submit to me this early. I have just come back to Toria Continents for one day and have already successfully created a name for myself. If I was playing the careful game, it could take me months or even years to achieve this result.”
