Oscar had just returned from arguing with his uncle and looked tired. His body that usually stood up straight was now a little weak, and his shoulders slumped. Ever since he heard Greta's conversation with Michael from behind the door, the man had never been able to sleep well.

Less than a month ago, Oscar thought his days were always tiring and heavy. The thing that made him excited to finish work was Lisa waiting for him at home.

Whenever Oscar remembered it, the man would rush to finish his work so he could go home as soon as possible.

This afternoon, Oscar did say that he would try to pick up Lisa. That's why he couldn't waste any more time at the restaurant. But apparently, since he was so busy arguing with Michael earlier, he didn't pay attention to the short message he received from Lisa.

Lisa: I've taken a taxi home, so you don't have to worry about me.

But he was lucky that he didn't read the text while he was still in the restaurant. Because otherwise, he would have no reason to return home sooner than he imagined.

"Are you waiting for me?" Oscar asked in disbelief.

"Yes, of course. While I was waiting for you to come home, I fell in love with another guy. He's so handsome!" Lisa said enthusiastically.

Oscar took off his work blazer and slung it over the armrest of the small sofa in the bedroom. He tried very hard to change his mood so that Lisa couldn't see and also realized that he had just had an argument with someone.

"Ah? Does that man's voice sound any better than mine? What kind of accent does he have?"

Lisa looked back at her phone screen and replied, "Much better! If it's an accent problem, I think he has the same accent as you."

Oscar glanced at the woman's cell phone as he approached her. His heart was a little relieved when he found out that the man Lisa was referring to was their child. But that certainly didn't stop him from frowning and protesting.

"Even though he's our son, I can still be jealous, you know." Oscar grumbled.

Hearing that made Lisa's lips let out a chuckle that sounded crispy. "How do you know that it's William?"

"Of course I know." Oscar replied while glancing at Lisa's cell phone and slightly tilting his chin forward.

Lisa followed his gaze and just realized that she hadn't turned off her cell phone's screen. She then chuckled and shook her head, "Yeah, you're right. It's William. Look at him," Lisa continued excitedly, then thrusted the cell phone's screen in front of Oscar's face so that the man narrowed his eyes. "My son is so handsome!"

Oscar was tired and just wanted to sleep, so he could only clear his throat, "Yeah, he's handsome. But I'm still more handsome."

"Whatever," Lisa replied quickly, rolling her eyes. "Go take a shower. Your body reeks of sweat!"

Oscar chuckled and then followed Lisa's order to take a shower. He noticed that now his body felt sticky because it was covered in sweat. The man then entered the bathroom carrying a bath towel and other equipment.

When the sound of gurgling water on the tiled floor was heard, Lisa was already lying on the bed. Hearing that sound for some reason made her heart beat quite fast.

After so long trying to fall asleep, Lisa's eyes were still wide open. She blinked a few times and finally decided to play with her phone. But not long after, her eyes felt dry and the feeling of drowsiness still hadn't come to her. The woman then turned off her cell phone's screen and decided to rest her eyes.

But not long after Lisa closed her eyes, she heard the sound of the bathroom door opening.

To be honest, Oscar's mood today wasn't very good. Even though he was very sure that Peter was his real father and that he had shown it to Michael, for some reason he still didn't feel relieved.

But when he came home and saw Lisa standing by the bedroom window looking at William's photo, his body felt as if it had been electrocuted.

Oscar did not have more time to feel tired and drag on with his sadness and anxiety. For Lisa and William, he had to work hard and make sure they had the perfect life. Until then, Lisa and William have the right to a life without having to worry about anything.

That night, under the moonlight, Lisa's body was in Oscar's arms. The man's strong hand caressed, or sometimes massaged the woman's back.

While enjoying the touch, Lisa said, "Tomorrow is William's birthday. Don't forget to come home early so we can pick him up and invite him to eat together."

"Yes, I will finish my work quickly, then I will pick you up at the office. After that, we will go to William's school to pick him up." Oscar replied. "Wow, looks like we have a busy schedule tomorrow, huh."

The movement of his hands on Lisa's back made her feel sleepy after a long time. She yawned for a while then replied, "I have asked permission from the company to go home early. I also told them that the reason I came home early was to celebrate my son's birthday."

"I don't want to disappoint William on his birthday." Lisa continued slowly.

Oscar cleared his throat, "Tomorrow, we will definitely celebrate William's birthday together. Don't worry too much."

The atmosphere in the master bedroom was calm again. No sound was heard anymore except for their breathing and heartbeat. Some time later, Lisa looked up and saw Oscar's handsome face from below.

Lisa whistled, "You're handsome too, aren't you? Well, I mean you look good. Not so bad."

Hearing that suddenly made the corners of Oscar's lips lift upwards. However, no sound could be heard coming out of his lips.

Lisa slightly moved her body and then fell asleep facing the ceiling. Oscar's hand movements automatically stopped, and he let Lisa change her sleeping position.

"Fortunately, I was born with a face that is not too beautiful. I'll feel sorry for you if I'm prettier than you. When the two of us walk next to each other, people will think that my boyfriend's face is ugly. What a pity! They'll surely mock you for that haha."

"Oh my God…" Oscar whispered in disbelief.. Then the sound of his laughter escaped his lips. "Since when did you become such a narcissist?"
