Chapter 738 - Tabebuya Flowers

Suddenly, when they were still walking and Lisa had run out of topics to talk about, the woman's memory returned to yesterday's events. Unknowingly, her eyes heated up and her heart felt like it was being gripped so tightly that it was difficult for her to breathe.

Luckily, Lisa is currently menstruating, so she can blame it all on her hormones.

Oscar is a kind man and according to Lisa, he's the kind that would come to the world once every two hundred years. No wonder many beauties willingly wait in line to be with him, all done faithfully. But somehow, Oscar chose her over them.

Until now, she still can't believe that her soul mate is a good loyal man and a rich one at that. In her entire life, she would never have thought that she would have a partner like Oscar.

Lisa and Oscar continued walking without making a sound at all. Neither of them knew what to say. They walked while enjoying the atmosphere of the afternoon in silence.

Suddenly, Lisa's eyes caught a bright yellow tabebuya flower tree not far from them. The flower looks so beautiful especially when it is illuminated by the afternoon sun.

Lisa turned her head and looked at Oscar, "Eh, I'm so cold. Can you go home for a bit and get me a jacket?"

"You… That's why I asked you if it's okay to just wear a thin shirt like this," Oscar grumbled worriedly. He wished he had brought Lisa a jacket. "Wait here, okay? I'll come back and bring you a jacket."

Without waiting for a reply from Lisa, Oscar turned his body and headed home right away. Luckily, they hadn't walked too far from the house, so it was probably only about 5 minutes.

As soon as Lisa was out of sight, the woman turned around and walked towards the tabebuya tree. Several tree branches and yellow flowers fell on the road.

Lisa took some tree branches that were still attached and put them together. She only took flowers that still looked fresh and good.

In all her life, Lisa had never bought a man flowers. Usually, she was the one who always received flowers, especially from Oscar. Since then, flowers suddenly became a romantic gift for her. And around here, there are no flower shops open, so that made Lisa decide to take the tabebuya flowers.

It didn't take longer than 3 minutes for her to take them and finally straightened her back. She turned around, fixed her clothes, and hid the bunch of flowers behind her. Before Lisa could walk back to her starting position, she saw Oscar jogging towards her.

Lisa pretended to look like nothing had happened and met Oscar in the middle. The woman frowned and asked, "Why so fast? Did you run here?"

Oscar had come back earlier with his oversized coat. When he wore it, the coat looked normal, but if Lisa wore it, Oscar was sure that the hem of the coat would fall under the woman's bottom and Lisa's hands would sink into the sleeves of the coat.

Earlier, the man saw Lisa looking down and picking up some flowers. The tip of his tongue had been wanting to say something like, 'Hey what are you doing there!?' or 'It's dirty! Don't touch it!'

But before he could do that, Oscar had already seen Lisa straighten her back and turn around. The man automatically ran to her while carrying the black coat.

"It's really cold this afternoon," Oscar walked over to Lisa and slung his coat over her shoulder, "How about we go home now? We can still walk around here again tomorrow."

Lisa lowered her hand and thrust the bunch of flowers into Oscar's chest. "Here, for you!"

Oscar looked at her with a face that looked cold as usual, but his eyes looked surprised. The man was silent for a few seconds, looking at Lisa and the flower in the woman's hand in turn.

Not long after, Oscar received the flower from Lisa's hand. "You're telling me to get you a coat while you get me flowers?"

He wasn't lying, the air that afternoon was incredibly cold. He was used to the cold air, but his body still felt a little goosebumps because of the cold afternoon before that night. The feeling of worry grew hotter in him when he saw Lisa's reddened hands.

"You're such an idiot," Oscar grumbled in disbelief. He held the flower in his arms, almost to his armpit, then took both of Lisa's hands. The man rubbed her hands with his big hands and exhaled from his lips, trying to make the wind warm. "It's really cold, you know. Why can't you wait for me for a while so we can pick flowers together?"

Even though the man couldn't stop grumbling and calling her stupid, Lisa was still satisfied. Finally, she was able to give the man gifts, especially flowers! Although her hands were warm thanks to Oscar's coat that had warmed her entire body, her heart felt much warmer.

Seeing Oscar busy trying to keep her from getting cold made Lisa smile widely.

"You're the stupid one, you know," Lisa finally replied after Oscar finished grumbling, "Why would I wait for you to pick the flowers that I would later give to you? Just take it easy, the air isn't too cold."

Oscar sighed and kissed the back of Lisa's palm. "Then why did you pick those flowers for me?"

"They look good. It's a Tabebuya tree, right? I rarely see that flower on the street. I have no other reason than the flowers are nice and I want to give them to you."

Oscar knew the woman as much as he knew the back of his hand. He knew that the real reason wasn't because the yellow tabebuia flower looked good so Lisa picked it. Her real reason was that she wanted to give the flower as an apology for what happened yesterday.

Like a teenager on a date for the first time, Lisa's smile looks brighter than the sun in the morning. The woman's eyes lit up and her cheeks turned red, either from embarrassment or from the chill of the afternoon.

"How is it? Do you like the flowers I gave you?"

Oscar looked down and looked at the flower that actually looked withered. Then the man lifted his face and replied, "As long as it comes from your hands, I like it.. Thank you."
