Chapter 732 - A Small Quarrel

Wild things ran inside her mind when she couldn't stop thinking about what other people might think of her. Lisa then turned her head quickly when she heard Oscar's stupid question. The woman looked at his side face and replied.

"No, it's not like that."

Oscar furrowed his brows, feelings of emotion and discontent almost overflowed from his heart, clogging the air inside the car. He turned and let out a voice in disbelief.

"Let me ask you again. Are you embarrassed that I picked you up at the office?"

Oscar had often picked her up at the office. Not only there, he sometimes picks her up at restaurants, malls, and other places. Only this time he received a deep sigh as a reply from Lisa. Usually, the woman's face would look happy and flowery when he picked her up.

Lisa pursed her lips and thought that the man sitting next to her right now was an idiot. Of course she was happy to be picked up by him, but why wouldn't Oscar listen to her request? Why did the man suddenly come and pick her up right in front of the entrance?

"Why are you asking me like thaat?"

Oscar wasn't satisfied with Lisa's odd answer. He squinted his eyes and looked at her, "Then explain to me why you looked embarrassed when I picked you up."

How could Lisa explain the truth to Oscar? She couldn't possibly tell him that she didn't want people to talk about her because she had won Oscar's heart. This man beside her would definitely laugh at her face and tell her that she was deluded enough to have such an irrational thought.

Finally, with such thoughts, Lisa decided to keep quiet and look ahead.

Seconds later, when he didn't even hear Lisa's reply, Oscar stepped on the gas even deeper. This resulted in his car speeding above average and so several horns starting to sound.

Lisa could feel her body like it wanted to float every time Oscar hit the brakes suddenly, then sped off again at high speed. The woman quickly held onto her seat belt. She turned and glared at the side face of the man.

In her heart, Lisa was muttering to herself, 'You stupid idiot! Do you want to kill me or what?!'

Oscar was obviously at fault but why was that man sulking instead of her? It should be Lisa's job, not his!

Lisa still wants to live longer and live her days without difficulty. If the guy got emotional, they would likely crash and so the accident caused one of them or even both to be seriously injured. Finally, Lisa decided to tell what was bothering her.

"I already said that I wanted to be picked up in front of the electronics store near my office. But why did you even come and pick me up in front of the office? You already agreed to my request, didn't you!"

"So what if I want to pick you up in front of the office? Who do you want to hide from me?"

"For God sake, Oscar!" Lisa replied annoyed, "I just don't want anyone to know that we have a special relationship!"

Oscar turned his head for a moment and looked at Lisa in disbelief. "Why would you want to hide our relationship? I don't mind if everyone finds out that you're my girlfriend, but why are you bothered about that? Am I that embarrassing for you?"

"Ouch, can you stop accusing me that I'm embarrassed to have a boyfriend!? I just don't want to let other people know about our relationship. I can swear that I'm not ashamed to be your girlfriend. I just don't want them to turn out to be nice to me because they know I'm the girlfriend of the venerable Oscar Petersson."

Before Oscar could reply, Lisa continued, "Neither do I want other girls to approach you and try to take you away from me. Who knows if you will sway and choose that girl over me? Let's use Indri as proof that a lot of girls want to sleep with you—"

Hearing Lisa's accusation immediately made the fire in Oscar's chest ignite and blaze violently. He didn't expect that woman to have such bad thoughts towards him!

"Wait a minute," Oscar interrupted quickly. "So you wanted to hide me from the public because you didn't trust me? Are you afraid that I will cheat on you? Is it how you think of me all this time?"

"So what if I doubt you? Feelings of doubt are natural in a relationship!" Lisa's reply was no less passionate than Oscar's. "I'm not a kid! The older I get, the more my doubts grow! Moreover, you know for yourself what kind of girl I am and what kind of family I grew up in. Then, suddenly, you, a rich person with a big company, came and wanted to be my boyfriend. Do you even think of how I feel?"

"Who won't be afraid that you will turn away with you as a boyfriend?" Lisa whispered.

Perhaps because they were too emotional, neither of them realized that Oscar had not stepped on the gas when the traffic light had turned green. As soon as Lisa finished saying that, suddenly the sound of a car horn sounded so loud in their ears.

So shocked, her body was pushed forward reflexively and her hands grabbed her seat belt. Not long after, a man wearing casual clothes, a plain t-shirt and knee-length shorts, came and knocked loudly on Oscar's car window.

"Get down, you bastard!" The man shouted loudly.

"Oscar!" Lisa shouted annoyed, "What do you mean suddenly stopping in the middle of the road like this?! It's turned green, you know! Why don't you run the car!?"

Oscar blinked a few times and only realized that now the traffic light had turned red again. The emotions that had been burning in his heart were now slowly receding due to his shock.

"Sorry, sorry," Oscar replied guiltily, "I thought the light was still red."

At first, Lisa was annoyed with his rash behavior for pickig her up in front of the office and now, she was upset because of the man's stupid action. But as soon as she saw those two clear blue eyes that looked like lost puppies, Lisa's heart melted.

Suddenly, as their eyes met and it seemed like one of them wanted to say something, a knock on Oscar's car window sounded loud and the voice grew sinister.

"Hey, I'm in a hurry! I have an appointment with an important client! My client will be furious just because of you, you damn bastard!"
