252 Dinner for Three 2

Name:This Time You Are Mine Author:mekane
"What are you guys talking about? Both of you look to serious?" Yve asked as she sat down in one of the chairs in the dining table.

"Nothing, Queen. So let's eat?" Vince said and the three eat the dishes on the table.

They engage in casual conversation and began sharing the latest projects in their respective companies. None of them dared to talk about the dangerous incidents that happened few days ago. Each of them complimented the food they ate, especially Yve. She appreciates the fact that Vince customized the dishes according to what she likes. However, the drink got her interest.

"What do you call this drink? This tastes creamy and sweet." Yve remarked.

"Mom made that drink." Vince answered.

Maddie explained the drink as well as how to make it. She ended the explanation with a promise.

"Don't worry; I will give you a copy of the recipe."

"Thanks mom!"

The trio was enjoying their dinner when Vince got a phone call from Edward. Knowing that his cousin called despite of their respective dinner dates, it must be an emergency. So Vince excused himself from the ladies and said,

"I'm sorry ladies but I need to pick up this phone so I will leave the dishes to you." Vince stood from the table and went to the study room.

"I guess we have no choice, Mom." Yve said and picked some of the dishes. Maddie also helped and the ladies found each other in the kitchen.

"You shouldn't let Vince work when it's your quality time, especially dinners." Maddie reprimanded Yve.

"It's just for now, Mom. It must be an emergency. Only Edward has the courage to call him and knowing you and I are here, Vince is definitely needed." Yve defended her counterpart.

"I see, as long as you're fine with it and it's not always as what you just said." Maddie calmly answered.

The two ladies finished cleaning up but Vince is still not back. Maddie walks to the living room and looks around the house.

"Dear, will it be okay if I turn the television on?" Maddie asked.

"Sure, Mom! I'll be preparing some tea first then I'll follow you in a bit." Yve replied.

Maddie chose the show she wanted to watch and true to her words, Yve arrived with two cups of tea.

Yve wants to ask Maddie about the psychological counseling but can't seem to find the right time. At the moment, they are watching a movie about a fashion designer and a musician. It's a love story between the characters and by the looks of it, I can say that Maddie is in reminisce mode.

"Mom, are you okay?" Yve asked as soon as she saw the tears flow down from Maddie's eyes.

"Yes I'm fine, Dear. I just got emotional."

"I'm just here if you want to talk about it." Yve offered.

'This might be a good start to talk about the counseling.' Yve thought as she heard her mother-in-low sob.

"Yve, just a few days ago when I was kidnapped, I thought I will see my husband in another life." Maddie began.

Yve just looked at her and sipped her tea calmly as she listened.

"My thoughts were lost and I was just thinking if someone will ever find me. Will I found alive or just my body." Maddie's tears continue to flow down from her eyes.

Yve moved closer to Maddie and hugged her.

"Mom, it's okay. Let it all out."

"To be honest, Yve, I'm afraid. I don't want to go out in public alone." Maddie confessed.

"…"

"I can't tell my son because I know he will worry and he might do some drastic measures in order to avenge me." Maddie added.

"It's normal for him to worry. You're an important person in his life and even if I were in his position, I would also feel the same." Yve said.

"I know but as a mother, I only want him to always do what is right especially if we're talking about moral rights." Maddie said.

"So what do you plan to do with your upcoming fashion shows and interviews?" Yve asked.

"I will have the interviews in my office for the meantime. As for the fashion shows, I don't know." Maddie confessed.

"…"

Yve didn't respond yet but she thought of something else. However, she's hesitating whether her idea will not offend Maddie and cause a ripple in their relationship.

Vince finished his call with Edward and silently went down as he hears sound effects and conversation from the movie his mother and wife must be watching. But he didn't pursue when he saw the reaction of the ladies. They weren't watching the movie. Instead, his mother is crying in the arms of Yve.

'I guess it's easier to talk to a person of the same gender.' Vince thought and decided to give the ladies privacy. He silently left the two women and went back to the office.

'I can ask Yve later.'

"Mom, based from what you said, I think it would be best to attend the counseling sessions." Yve began speaking out her thoughts.

"Yve…"

"Mom, I know how you feel. I've been to counseling before when I lost my parents and Vince was there for me."

"I can't let my son see me during those sessions. I want to be a pillar of support and not a person he needs to protect."

"I understand, Mom. All I'm saying is you need to attend these sessions and if you're not comfortable going alone, I can go with you." Yve offered.

"But you're busy, too."

"Mom, I was so happy when you approved the relationship I have with Vince. Besides, you're not just my mother-in-law. You treated me as your own daughter and I feel the same." Yve said.

Maddie sighed and compromised.  "But I don't want you to neglect your other duties. I will go to these sessions but I will base it on your schedule. Okay?"

"I guess, okay. As long as you will attend these sessions." Yve smiled as Maddie slightly pushed her back to look at her face.

"Thank you so much, Yve."

"You're always welcome, Mom!"

"I guess my son is really busy. I should go now, it's getting late." Maddie expressed when the credits of the movie flashed on the screen.

"You can stay here." Yve offered. Afterall, she heard her mother getting scared of being alone.

"It's okay. I know some of my son's men are following me and protecting me in the shadows." Maddie said and started to walk to the main door of the house.

"Okay, then. Just take care in going home." Yve decided not to push further as Maddie already agreed and that was a big deal for her.

"I will, sweetie. Good night!" Maddie kissed Yve before getting inside her car.

As the gates opened and Maddie's car left their house, Yve noticed two cars trailing behind.

'You're really not taking any chances.' Yve thought as she looked at the window of the study room where the lights were still on.
