Chapter 98: Already Sold Out?

She had just escaped the media from the station due to a case involving Emilia, and if she just so happened to be at the scene when the girl got injured during a 'case', who would believe that she didn't do that intentionally?

Even Justine herself wouldn't believe it if she heard it from someone else.

All these thoughts went through her mind at the speed of lightning, and Justine didn't hesitate even for a moment before she pointed her gun at the tall bodyguard. "Freeze! Don't move!"

The ash skinned man wasn't an idiot, and upon noticing her uniform and gun he immediately raised his hands in surrender. "I'm just a bodyguard, lady, calm down!"

As soon as he let her wrist go, Emilia had of course already taken away the gun. Of course, she couldn't try to use it now that the police lady was here.

Amos was of course more ecstatic than anyone else the moment he heard 'police', he struggled to break free but Jenna was still binding his arms tightly in a sweater, and Lara hadn't stopped clutching his hair either, though she had long since stopped pulling. "Hey you, officer! Get rid of them! These bitches assaulted me out of nowhere, look, they aren't letting go even now! It's all this because of this villainess!"

In his mind, now that she had been caught 'red handed', even that snake-like ex-fiancée of his shouldn't be able to wiggle out of this, right?

Unfortunately, no one else seemed to be capable enough to follow his train of thought, and only gave him a confounded look.

Justine only thought that the boy really was 'mentally unstable', and almost felt a little sorry for the bodyguard. Still, the process had to be carried out as required, and she could only detain the two of them for the time being.

The hero couldn't believe it when the police lady put his bodyguard in cuffs, and his disbelief turned to horror when Emilia instructed her 'friends' to let him go, only for himself to be cuffed as well. "Y-You! You've already been bribed?!"

In his mind, what other explanation could there be for such 'unreasonable' behavior?

Of course, Justine wouldn't bother arguing with a mentally unstable boy, would she? So she just ignored him and dialed to the station to report the situation.

Her silence was as good as 'admitting it' to the hero, and he could only grit his teeth in anger. "If you think you can get away with this, you're sorely mistaken!"

To think that the claws of this villainess had already sunk so deep in places he hadn't even imagined… Just a while ago, she was still struggling to deceive and disgrace the police officers, and now she had already grown to the point of being able to control some of her own!

Not to mention her ability to do evil, her rate of growth was also equally terrifying! But instead of feeling dread and fear, the hero only felt his hatred grow with his thoughts.

To disgrace him like this in front of the love of his life, he would definitely return it all to this bitch ten… no, a hundred fold!

The hero didn't even dare take a look at Crystal, for he knew she must be distressed and in disbelief about his situation as well. He didn't want her to worry for him, but in this situation, he was also helpless, and could only remain silent.

Not long later, Justine's colleagues arrived as well.

The bodyguard knew that the matter would be handled quite swiftly by the Black Tiger Corporation's lawyers soon enough, but he still felt it would be embarrassing to have both himself and his charge being carried off to the station in a cruiser. So he couldn't help but try to diffuse the situation. "Lady, there's no need to blow things out of proportion. Young master Amos only had an argument with these girls, there was no crime or anything of the sort. I'm sure everyone will be grateful if you could help diffuse the situation instead of exacerbating it?"

The other two officers who arrived had already taken the testimonies from some of the guests as well as the staff. The waiter had made it clear that he had tried to stop the boy from entering multiple times, only to be attacked when he kept getting in the way.

Moreover, the bodyguard had also knocked out the guard at the gate.

Although the man tried to play the whole thing off as an argument between children, the testimony from the waiters as well as the owner of the place made it so that the case of forcefully breaking and entering a private residence was still there.

Despite all this, though, Justine knew that there wasn't much of a case in her hands, considering the capability of the Black Tiger Corporation's lawyers. The bodyguard had 'reasonable excuse' to believe that his charge was in danger, and hadn't used any lethal means after all. She was about as helpless against them as she was against Emilia.

When Crystal's mom realized that she was dealing with the heir of the Black Tiger Corporation, however, she began to hesitate. Wouldn't being too stubborn end up attracting a calamity to herself and her daughter? Those people weren't known for being reasonable and kind, after all.

Emilia knew that the woman was turning meek, but could she let such an opportunity go?

"Don't worry, Aunty, we'll take care of it."

Crystal's mom thought about it, and if it was actually Emilia doing things instead of herself, it should be okay, right?

The heroine felt a little embarrassed by her mother's hesitation to take her friend's side when the boy was clearly in the wrong, but she understood what the woman was thinking, and could only sigh in her heart at their inferior status.

She understood that being too obstinate while seeking justice could invite disaster. Not everyone can be like Emilia, and not everyone can even afford to be like Emilia.

Dixie watched in confusion as her princess kept whispering things in Justine's ears as the police lady's eyes slowly brightened.

By the time she was done, her hesitant expression was completely replaced with a firm determination.
