Chapter 1913 Unbelievable

Black was feeling impatient because he didn't want to pick up the phone. After Holley got into the car, he finally answered the call.

"Come back here at once!" Rex screamed over the phone. Needless to say, he didn't sound too happy.

"Father, Holley got discharged from the hospital today. I am going to drive Holley home first. I'll talk to you later," Black firmly refused Rex on the phone as he looked at Holley, who was seated in the passenger's seat.

Rex, however, took Black's refusal as an insult and hurled curses at him over the phone, telling him to come back immediately. There was an urgent matter he needed to discuss with his son.

Black sighed helplessly and decided to go home at once.

As soon as Black hung up, guilt and embarrassment came over his face. "Holley, something important has come up at the company. I must go back at once and deal with it. I will see you later."

"All right. Don't worry about me. I am fine. Just go now, or Uncle Rex will be angry with you." Holley looked at Black with a gentle expression.

Black felt greatly relieved by Holley's considerate words.

"Please, take Holley home. Make sure that she gets there safely," Black politely said to the driver, who looked back at him in the rear-view mirror and nodded courteously. After instructing the driver, he waved her good-bye.

Black stood there watching the car for a while until it was out of his sight, and then he left.

At Holley's home

The driver left soon after he dropped Holley and the private nurse off at Holley's place.

Finally, when she had comfortably sat down on the sofa, Holley felt like she was home. After all, she had been away for about a week. However, there was no food, so she had to send the private nurse to go out and buy something to eat first.

Holley was happy to have someone around to help her as it saved her the trouble of having to deal with people. This meant that she could enjoy this pleasant and peaceful moment to herself.

When Holley was about to fall asleep, her cellphone rang. The call was coming from an unknown number.

Holley curiously stared at the screen for a while as she didn't know who the caller was. The only way to find that

er, was almost certain that Holley had staged the attack beforehand.

"Protect you? You really think everything is about you, don't you? You are a fool!" Rex was so mad that he couldn't find any other words to say to Black.

"Father, what do you mean?" Black knew that even if Rex disliked Holley, he would not curse at him like that if he didn't have a good reason.

"What I am trying to say is that Holley faked the attack because she wanted to make you feel guilty!" Right after Rex finished talking, he took a sip of water from his glass.

"I don't believe it!" Black was shocked and dumbfounded by Rex's allegation.

Black couldn't believe that Holley would do such a thing. If she had known about the attack, would she have allowed herself to be hurt so badly?

After all, the attacker was using a knife, and if the wound had been any more serious, she could have died.

Black thought that Rex had made up that story to deceive him because his father wanted him to leave Holley.

When he saw the look of disbelief in Black's eyes, Rex realized that there was no point in trying to convince him. "My son, I am your father. I just want to protect you from lies."

"Father, I know that Holley wouldn't do anything to hurt me." Black was a little upset as he looked at Rex.

The moment Rex saw the pain in Black's eyes, he became worried that his son would do something stupid. So he came up with a different idea to solve his problem in a better way.
