Chapter 22 - She Was Human

Chapter 22 She Was Human

Cheng Wei’s face alternated between green and white. She looked down and saw the coffee stain on her white dress.

It was too embarrassing.

She covered her face and rushed to the bathroom.

Suddenly, a hand patted her shoulder.

Cheng Wei turned around and saw Cheng Xin’s approaching face.

That pair of eyes that she was very familiar with was staring straight at her.

“Ah!!!”

Cheng Wei shrieked and fell to the ground in fright.

Her ruckus attracted the attention of many people. Some people even started to take out their phones and Pat her.

“Miss, are you okay?” Xin reached out to help Cheng Wei and asked with concern.

Cheng Wei’s face was full of fear. She wanted to avoid Cheng Xin, but she had already held her hand.

Her hand was warm.

She was human.

A hint of surprise flashed in Cheng Wei’s eyes. Soon, she was no longer so afraid.

Tch, so she was deliberately mystifying.

Cheng Wei let Cheng Xin hold her hand and stood up from the ground. She looked at her coldly. “You’re not dead?”

“Hmm? Miss, what did you say?”

Cheng Xin didn’t understand. She looked very innocent.

Cheng Wei had always hated Cheng Xin’s innocent look. Previously, she had been like this. She had cheated many men into liking her, including Feng Yi.

After not seeing her for three years, she was still like this.

Cheng Wei snorted coldly. “What are you pretending for? Aren’t you the one who came to my house to cause trouble? Cheng Xin, you escaped from the slums. Have you thought about what might happen to you?”

Cheng Xin still had a blank look on her face, pretending not to understand. “Miss, I don’t know you. Why are you saying these things?”

Cheng Wei saw that Cheng Xin refused to admit it and became even angrier. “Ha! Still pretending? Just you wait, I’ll get father to send someone to send you back to the slums!”

This b*tch!

She’s actually not dead?!

Cheng Wei was unwilling to let it go. She picked up her phone and was about to call Cheng Kun.

A surprised voice sounded, “Cheng-cheng Xin?”

It was Feng Yi.

Cheng Wei’s body stiffened. She saw Feng Yi standing not far away, his gaze fixed on Cheng Xin.

At that moment, only Cheng Xin was left in Feng Yi’s eyes. It was as if his soul had been lured away.

Cheng Wei gritted her teeth. Cheng Xin found it interesting-another old acquaintance.

However, she still looked at Feng Yi with confusion.

“Cheng Xin, where have you been for the past three years? Weiwei and I have been looking for you!” Feng Yi strode to Cheng Xin, surprised and happy.

Cheng Xin was puzzled. “Looking for me?”

Previously, Cheng Wei had never admitted that they were sisters. She claimed that they were just friends.

“Yeah, after you went missing three years ago, I went to the school to check your information. But the school said that you were taken away by your family. And because of your family, your information has been turned into a secret.”

So, this was how the Cheng family erased all traces of her.

How ridiculous.

Cheng Wei saw that Feng Yi no longer cared about her and was furious.

However, as there were too many people around, she tried her best to hold it in. She squeezed out a smile and grabbed Feng Yi’s arm. “That’s right, Little Xin. We’ve never given up on looking for you. Where did you

go?”

“But, didn’t you just say that I escaped from the slums?” Cheng Xin asked as if nothing had happened. Cheng Wei’s expression changed drastically.

Feng Yi turned to look at Cheng Wei with a puzzled face. “Slums?”

Cheng Wei’s face turned pale. She didn’t expect Cheng Xin to say this out loud.

Previously, she told Feng Yi that Cheng Xin had gone missing and she didn’t know where she went.

After a moment of silence, Cheng Xin slowly said, “I’m sorry, you have mistaken me for someone else. I’m not the person you’re looking for.”

“How can that be? You look exactly like Xiao Xin,” Feng Yi said anxiously.

Xiao Xin?

Hearing Feng Yi calling her that, Cheng Wei became even angrier.

“Xiao Xin, let’s go to the coffee shop. We haven’t seen each other for so long, and we have a lot to talk to you about. Maybe you’ll remember us then.”

Cheng Wei didn’t want to let Cheng Xin run away just like that. She held Cheng Xin’s arm like a good sister and led her to the coffee

shop.

When they reached the coffee shop, Cheng Wei pressed Cheng Xin on the sofa and let Feng Yi sit across from her.

This was no invitation. It was clearly an escort.
