Chapter 521 - The Scum Is Lavish

Cheng Sheng calmly sipped his drink despite everyone's eyes on him. It's as if he is tasting the finest tea even if he is drinking mud water.

In the end, it was Fei Lin who spoke since he is Fei Yin's family. "Cheng Sheng." He called. "Yin-er… is he really back?" he asked.

Cheng Sheng turned to him. "Elder Fei. I would never lie to you regarding da shixiong's matter." He spoke. "You also have heard what he said before. I bet my life just to urge him to come out. I also wasn't aware of his condition.." He said as he lowered his head and stared at his drink. "Even I have to bet my life on it… fortunately, I won the bet." He said and drank his tea in one gulp.

Everyone fell silent and Fei Lin looked at Cheng Sheng with sympathy. Everyone can tell that Cheng Sheng, although not showing it, is actually at his limit. He missed Fei Yin so much. So much that he placed his life on the line just to make the other come out.

"Where did you go earlier?" Sun Yu asked.

Cheng Sheng didn't speak and just resumed drinking. He looked like he plans to let Wu Tie explain everything to them.

Wu Tie gnashed in teeth in anger, itching to hit Cheng Sheng. This guy! When you thought he's kind, he'll show his true colors as a scum! He thought as his brow twitched.

Jin Yu coughed, hiding his laughter. "Let me." He patted Wu Tie's shoulder and faced everyone who are waiting for an explanation. "It's like this – " he said and narrated to them what had transpired this afternoon.

"Elder Cheng." Someone called after Cheng Sheng and He Run separated. 

Cheng Sheng could recognize who it is even if he doesn't turn. But, in the end, he did, since as he said last night, he isn't petty to squabble with a junior. "Oh? Eldest young master Wu. Apologies for my belated greetings, but congratulations for your victory yesterday." He spoke with a smile. "And, cultivator Jin, too, for your victory this morning." He added as he turned to Jin Yu.

Jin Yu remained smiling but Wu Tie's fists clenched on his side. "Elder Cheng… elder Cheng should already know my… our secret." He spoke. "Why does elder Cheng still acting ignorant?" he raised his head and looked at Cheng Sheng. "Why didn't you expose last night about Jin Yu being a – " 

"Shh!" Cheng Sheng cut him off. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu were taken aback. Cheng Sheng… doesn't want them to speak about this matter? They thought and looked at each other, confirming their guess this morning. 

"Let's talk somewhere else?" Cheng Sheng spoke. Before any of them could react, he pulled them inside the Shapeshifting Blanket that appeared in a flash, and the three of them already surrounded by trees. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu were shocked and turned back, only to see the people coming in and out of the entrance of the venue. 

"Bai Tan's invisible, so no one should notice that we are here." Cheng Sheng told them. 

"This is…?" the two asked. 

"The space inside my spiritual tool – Shapeshifting Blanket. I named it 'Bai Tan'." Cheng Sheng answered as he walked.

Wu Tie and Jin Yu, though puzzled, but followed after Cheng Sheng. Not long, they are out of the trees and before them was a meadow. 

"Holy…!" Wu Tie exclaimed as he looked around the mountains afar. "Is this… another world?" he asked. 

"No way." Cheng Sheng answered. "Whatever you see, that's the end of it." He told him before he walked towards a tree – the single tree in the middle of the meadow. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu followed him with their gazes and then saw that there was a jade table under the tree. Curiosity gotten over Wu Tie and he finally walked after Cheng Sheng. Jin Yu follows wherever Wu Tie goes so he also walked towards the tree. 

There, they saw a person lying on the jade table. Both of them were shocked. "This is…" they muttered. 

Then, Wu Tie suddenly remembered something. "Fei… Elder Fei Yin… the eldest disciple of sect leader Xie and elder Fan Wen… and your – " he looked at Cheng Sheng. " – da shixiong…" he said. 

Cheng Sheng nodded and he waved his hand. Three wooden chairs appeared and Cheng Sheng sat in one. "Now, we can talk." He spoke as he waved his hand and a table with snacks and a set of cups with steaming teapot appeared between them three. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu. "…" is he always this lavish? They thought and looked at the expensive desserts and snacks on the table. Seeing that Cheng Sheng was eating, the both of them ate, too. 

"There are two reasons why I didn't expose you two's secret – " Cheng Sheng spoke. 

Wu Tie choked and Jin Yu immediately patted him on the back. They were taken aback by Cheng Sheng's words. They didn't expect for him to come so strongly! Because of the peaceful atmosphere inside this space and they were shocked, they have forgotten what they came her for! 

"Water?" Cheng Sheng spoke and waved his hand. A cup of water appeared. 

Jin Yu immediately picked it up and had Wu Tie drink it. 

"So, as I was saying – " Cheng Sheng spoke. " – there are two reasons why I didn't expose you two's secret." He continued, disregarding Wu Tie's expression. "One: something personal. Two: I am not a person who likes to pry into someone else's private matters." He explained. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu stared at him. 

"I am a cut-sleeve myself, so I can see through your relationship." Cheng Sheng looked at them. 

Wu Tie and Jin Yu fell silent. 

"I won't ask of your private matters, and you can expect me to not tell sect leader Wu or anyone about your secrets – both of your romantic relationship and that the other is a spirit servant." Cheng Sheng said. 

Wu Tie's clenched fists finally relaxed. "Your condition?" he asked. He knows that there isn't a free lunch in this world. 

"Truthfully, I don't ask for a compensation." Cheng Sheng looked at Wu Tie.

Cheng Sheng looked like he doesn't care. "Well, actually, I brought you two here because I wanted to ask you a question." He spoke. 

"… just a question?" Jin Yu asked, looking doubtful. 

"Yes." Cheng Sheng nodded. 

"What is it?" Wu Tie asked. 

"Well, that is – " Cheng Sheng muttered. 

After some time passed, when they are about to leave the space, Wu Tie told Cheng Sheng something. 

"Since you already know about Jin Yu, I have to tell you something." Wu Tie looked at Cheng Sheng. "I… suspect that one of the participants is also a spirit servant like Jin Yu." He told him. 

Cheng Sheng's expression changed. "How?" he asked. 

"You have spoken with both of us for a long time… elder Cheng should have noticed." Wu Tie took a deep breath. "Jin Yu… has a different breath on him. And that although he is a spirit servant, he is like a human." He told him. 

Cheng Sheng fell silent. He also noticed it earlier. "Which participant?" he asked after a while. 

"Ho Ting." Wu Tie answered.
