Chapter 250 - We'll Create Evilness

"My, my, Qing Chen," Feng Xuan said with a slight grin. "I thought you hated the mafia in its entirety."

Qing Chen shifted and leaned against the railing with his behind. "I don't hate the mafia. I just hate what it does. That's why I'm going to change it so I would not despise it so much."

"So I take it the casino is that only thing you like about this?"

"And the horse tracks," he nodded. "It was an easy fix."

Feng Xuan stood in front of him, in all her s.e.xiness in that black pantsuit. "We're going to get rid of the drugs and the human dog fights, we're going to make the situations better for the girls who want to dance, then we're going to keep the casinos and the horse tracks. Okay, what else?"

Qing Chen pushed himself and put an arm on Feng Xuan's lower back. He steered her to the exit. "There's one thing I am partial about."

"And what is that?"

"The last door."

"What's in the last door?"

"Treasures."

"You mean, like, gold?"

"And some."

Feng Xuan got excited. "Am I going to see big jewels? You know, the kind that people steal in movies? I might take it home you know…" she poked at his chest. "Can we afford it?"

"Afford it? No need to think about money. We're going to steal it."

Feng Xuan's eyebrows rose. "Steal it?" she fake gasped. "Chen, you're so naughty."

"Naughty?" he laughed then shook his head. "I'm one of the nicest persons you'll ever meet. That's why I'm not meant to be a mafia lord."

"Aw," she said and leaned against him. "Maybe if we join forces, we'll create evilness."

"I hope so," Qing Chen answered.

At the end of the hallway, there were black doors. Both were bigger than the other doors they had came in. It was like one of the medieval ones with a soft arch on the top and heavy sides.

"This is where I got your engagement ring. It's called The Underground." He opened the door and they entered the long hallway. It looked like a throne room and maybe it was decide to look like that. It was cold inside and items in glass cases were spaced apart on the floor. Some were empty and some were already propped on small stands.

Most of them were pieces of jewelries, dated way back 1800s or so. None of the items matched her taste. They looked too old for her. There were some that she reimagined as another accessory. There were also paintings that hung on the wall. Precious ceramic pieces. Ancient things that Feng Xuan was sure had been excavated from somewhere in the desert.

"So… did we buy these from… pirates?" she asked, not really knowing what term to use.

"Smugglers… pirates…" Qing Chen looked around. "We're still waiting for the next shipment. We're going to have a party here soon."

"Oh really, will I get an invite?"

"You own half of the mafia now. You don't need an invite."

Feng Xuan could picture herself on top of the podium, in a great big seat. "I want a crown on my head."

"A crown?"

"Yes, a queen's crown. Do you know where we can have one made?"

Qing Chen looked confused but entertained her idea nonetheless. "Sure, I'll have something made for you."

"I take it the people that come here don't really know each other? Like this is black market, right? That's why the doors are black?"

"Sort of, but we really don't sell human parts here."

"So this is like a masquerade."

"Yeah, I forgot to mention that," he said. It was so normal to come to the Underground auction with a mask that it slipped his mind.

Feng Xuan turned and wrapped her arms around Qing Chen's neck. "So this is our empire, huh?"

Qing Chen thought about it. "More or less. It's pretty much it."

"Okay," she said and started to sway. Qing Chen quickly followed. They were dancing without music. "Are you excited to own everything?"

He closed the distance between them. "I'm excited to own everything with you."

"We look crazy dancing without music."

"I doubt anyone would dare say that." He twirled her around. When she back in his arms, he asked. "So, are you ready to take this on with me?"

Her eyes looked like they hold the stars with the way she looked at him. "Yes, Qing Chen. I am always ready for anything. As long as I am with you."

He leaned closer. "That's great," then he finally kissed her.

**

Once they were in the car, Qing Chen oriented Feng Xuan with the upcoming event in The Underground. It would work like a normal auction but the prices of the items were more than ten-fold. Enigma was working as the medium for these transactions.

There were items that they bought already and were going to sell but the majority were commission-based.

"I think this is easy enough," she said.

"But that's not where it ends."

"Some of the items were big jewelries. Like the diamond in your engagement ring. When it first arrived here it was a big stone. We are also in charge of cutting it up and distribution."

Feng Xuan's toes tingled. There were already too many things to think about in The Kingly Empire alone and now she had to help Qing Chen manage the possible billions that they would make with the mafia.

She wanted to say "this is nuts", throw the folders away, and leave it on the floor. But Qing Chen needed her help so she forced her mind to focus.

"I wonder how this doesn't drive you crazy," she said.

"It does. That's why I need you. After this we can put most of our attention with The Kingly again."

But just then, both of their cellphones vibrated in their pockets. It was a ping from The Zookeeper.

A new message.
