Chapter 83 - HOUSING

[KYLE POV]

I hadn't expected that Jacy would tell all of us that she had someone she was going to be working with. Let alone that it was going to be a vampire. What was she thinking?

Still, at least she had seemed open to the idea of changing the way she worked. I wanted to keep her home a little more if I could. I didn't like the idea of her working while pregnant. I also knew she wouldn't like the way that I was thinking since she was an Alpha female, but I was an Alpha male and my priority was protecting my mate.

I needed to meet this vampire though. And, apparently, I needed to meet the Hornes. I had spoken to Mrs. Horne over the intercom but I hadn't met her yet. According to EZ though, his parents would need to meet both me and Bastian. That was why he was currently on the phone with them and setting up something for the next day.

Jacy was texting Lambert, the vampire. She was supposed to have him meet us at my office since I already knew where Jacy could set up shop for her new agency. My building had more than enough empty office space that she could use. We could rent one of them there. Now, it was not going to be open in just a few days, this whole thing was going to be a process.

We would need to figure out how things were going to be run, how many employees she was going to have, what types of cases she would take. And of course, how often she was going to supplement her income with the bounties that she was going to go after. This was going to be a big business for her.

Not to mention, she wouldn't need to supplement her income. I mean, if she needed it to pay her employees or something that was one thing, but she would never want for money. Between the rich family that accepted her as their own and myself Jacy would have plenty of money at her disposal.

"Laremy will be able to meet us next week. He took a vacation. Apparently he was so inspired by my sudden trip out of town that he wanted a last hurrah before he settled into a normal job. Or those had been his words." The way she said that made me think that Laremy had the same proclivities that Bastian and EZ had. If that was true then I didn't need to worry about him being alone with her.

I had been worried about Lucian for a moment. I can tell that he and Jacy had at least had a fling once before. However, it seems that those embers died out long ago. Now, he seemed like a protective cousin. I don't want to say brother, they weren't that close, but cousin worked well enough for their relationship.

This was all turning out just perfect. I didn't have to worry about any of the men in Jacy's life. This meant that I didn't have to try and forbid her from seeing any of them. I could just imagine the type of fight that would lead to.

Now, all we had to worry about was where Jacy and I were going to live. Yeah, I just moved last month but I wasn't going to stay there if I was starting a family. I needed to find somewhere bigger and more family friendly. And we only have five more months to get it all perfect. At this rate, it would be either the end of November or the beginning of December when our baby was born. I needed to hurry.

Hmmm, I wonder how Jacy would take a marriage proposal right now. Should I go for it or let things build between us a little bit. She did say she loves me. Maybe I could just prepare for it and let things happen as they will. I wanted to marry her though. I really did.

Picturing it, however, I couldn't see Jacy in a traditional wedding dress. I don't know what she will pick, but right now I am picturing a simple white wedding dress but it was paired with Jacy's boots and leather jacket. Huh, that image was actually turning me on. That would definitely be the style that fit my sexy little firecracker of a mate.

While I fantasized about weddings and a very sexy and very fun wedding night I pulled up a search on my private computer. Longing back in my seat, making it appear as if I wasn't doing anything important at all, I started searching for the perfect place for us.

I knew that Jacy liked to live in the city. Being close to our offices was a must for us both. Having a place with plenty of room for our work from home days and for our family time was a must too. And I didn't know how many kids Jacy wanted to have, but I wanted a couple at least. So, we needed to make sure there were enough bedrooms that all of our future kids could have their own. I didn't like the idea of making them share.

In among the searches I found a luxury family condo. It took up the entire top floor of a building close to the one we were at now. The place had eight bedrooms, eight and a half bath rooms, two living rooms, a formal and an informal dining room, plus two studies. It would be perfect for us. We could create home offices and everything.

I copied the details and texted my real estate agent immediately. I wanted to put a bid in on it but I also wanted to get Jacy's opinion. I couldn't have her vetoing it after I bought it. I would be back to square one with an extra condo.

"Jacy, what do you say we go somewhere really quick?" I was already on my feet and walking toward her.

"To where?" She was skeptical. Did she really trust me so little?

"I want to show you something really quick." I was hoping that the grin on my face wouldn't make her skittish about this whole thing.

"I don't know what you're planning, but I am learning that it is usually best to just go with the flow around you. Just know that you will have to pay me back for this."

With that my hot and sexy mate stood up and took my hand. I loved that she was holding my hand now. I quite enjoyed the feel of her hand in mine.

I led her from my office and to the elevator and she hadn't let go of my hand. She held onto it all the way down to the garage. Actually she didn't let go of my hand until I had opened the door of the car for her to step inside

Once I was seated in the driver's seat I took her hand again, curling my fingers through her so that our palms were pressed together.

"You really do like holding my hand don't you?" She wondered out loud as she looked at our hands that were currently joined.

"I just like touching you in general, can you blame me?" She laughed then, like she thought it was funny.

"You perv." She said the word while still laughing.

"Yup." I didn't deny it.

The condo looked even better in person. Though I have to admit the person showing us around was not happy with the fact that they needed to rush over here as fast as they did. Still, they were being professional as they showed us around.

"Tell me something, Sylvester, why do we need eight bedrooms?" Jacy was looking at me with a raised brow, her arms crossed, and one foot tapping on the floor.

"It's more than we will need, but this will allow us to have guest bedrooms, not to mention home offices. It will be perfect." My smile didn't seem to be convincing her.

"It's too much." She glared back at me.

"It's perfect. We can do so much. And when you get mad at me you can make me sleep in another bedroom." That made her laugh. I was happy to see that she was accepting this now.

"Good point. We need two bedrooms just for us, not to mention the offices. This place really will work for that." Yes, she was looking like she agreed to it.

"Then can I put in an offer?" I was hopeful. To find a place the day I started looking would be a miracle. Please Goddess, let miracles happen for me and my mate.

"Sure, why not. This way I can tell EZ's parent's that I am moving out tomorrow. Or better yet, I will have you tell them. That will be so much more fun."

Jacy walked down the hall toward the master bedroom. Why did I get the feeling that she was hoping the Hornes got mad at me? This wasn't going to be fair.. Come on Jacy.
