Chapter 112 - Big Sister

Xi Ana was playing the pen on her hand unconsciously when her ȧssistant came in with sets of papers on her hands.

"By the way Hannah cancel the reservation for lunch just order take away food from the same restaurant." since her is suffering a hangover it would be better if they just stayed indoors than going out for lunch.

The stack of papers was then put on her table, "Okay, president. Will the President head over to Lim Corporation instead?"

"Yes, I'll head over after the morning meeting."

"Then shall I pick the food beforehand, Lim Corporation is not the same as the restaurant."

When Hannah said that she realized that they are indeed not in the same way and if she will be the one who will pick up the food then it would take her longer time.

"I'll have to bother you with this then, Hannah."

"It is my duty, President. I'll take my leave then."

"Alright."

In actuality, she never really ruled out the possibility of forgiving her father after all he is their father and nothing will change that even if she drain all the blood out off her veins. Breaking off familial relations might be possible on papers but that still does not change anything biologically, right?

Forgiving him now might not be possible but who knows what will happen in the future, she knows that there is a reason why he left in the first place but she is not someone who can read mind, she gave him a lot of chances to explain but it was him who refused.

All this time she had always avoided talking about their father but as expected, it is something that you can runaway from for a long time. Eventually, she needs to face it.

To distract herself she once poured all her attention towards the work in front of her. She didn't know for how long she was cooped like that but when she glanced outside it seemed like it's nearly time for lunch or something like that, she was determined to finish the document she is holding when she was suddenly interrupted by a knock on her office door.

Xi Ana didn't bother raising her head as she thought it is Hannah who would remind her of time and so when the door opened she spoke while looking at the document thinking it was Hannah, "Have you picked up the food? I'll just finish this in a while and I'll be leaving for Lim Corporation already."

After she said all that she realized that the footsteps were rather heavier as if it was that of a man's. She raised her head and was surprised to see Xi Chen instead of her ȧssistant.

"You just came?"

"Yeah."

Xi Ana put down the paper on her hand and looked straight at her younger brother. The look on her brother's face is full of guilt as if he wanted to apologize but really didn't know how to start.

"I called your brother-in-law earlier this morning he sent me a message that you were still sleeping when he left."

There is actually no need to tell him this, Xi Ana only said this to ease his tension a little and from the looks of it, what she did was actually effective. "I woke up as soon as he left."

"so, do you want to talk?"

"Yeah."

Xi Ana gestured for him to sit on the couch, "Then sit there and wait for me."

"Okay."

This is one of the good characteristics of Xi Chen, when he knows he is at fault he is willing to bow down his head and apologize unlike some of those spoiled brats that came from well-off families like theirs.

Xi Ana then stood up from her chair and went directly to the kitchen to brew some tea. She looked at the time and it is still 10:05 AM which means that she still has plenty of time before lunch.

After brewing the tea and transferring them into two tea cups she brought them to the couch where Xi Chen is seated.

She sat in front of him and set down the cups on her hand. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Before that, I want to apologize for my behavior last night."

"You should be. I know that there is something you want to say but do you think walking out like that at night will make me understand you?" she said flatly.

There is no sugar-coating in her words, even when Xi Chen is a lot younger than this she would always tell him what he did wrong. Indeed, there may be times when she spoils him but that does not mean she would tolerate his wrongdoings.

"No, it won't." he said with his head lowered slightly looking like a dog that accepts a beating. Seeing this made Xi Ana's heart ache a little, it's very rare for her to scold Xi Chen especially now that he is already an ȧduŀt.

Xi Ana sighed and mellowed her tone down, "I've always been telling you, doing something on the spur of a moment will never do you any good. Be it when you're happy, sad, or angry as long you are overwhelmed by emotions you should always doubt your every decisions."

"I'm sorry, Ana Jie. I'm in the wrong and I will never do something like that again. I will make sure to convey properly whatever it is that I want to say."

"It's good that you know. When you stood and left from the dining room last night I was afraid that something might happen to you, good thing Yi Sheng was there at the very least I know you will be safe with him."

The reason why she also left the dining room last night was actually to follow him because if something happened to him she might not be able to forgive herself in this lifetime.
