It was more than an hour later before dinner was ready. She felt upset when she saw the three children wolfing down their food.

“Darlings, if Mommy cannot come back in time in the future, I’ll get a nanny to look after you, okay?”

Li An’an wanted to hire a part-time nanny. The extra expense was fine, as long as the nanny could help out when she couldn’t take care of the children.

Li Junjun shook his head. “We don’t want a nanny. We can look after ourselves.”

Li Baobao pulled a long face and said, “Nanny will beat us. We don’t want one.” She was very worried. The television said that nannies always beat the kids. She was scared.

Li Jùnjùn also objected. “Mommy, I don’t like to have strangers at home.”

This was their home. With strangers around, it wouldn’t feel cozy anymore.

Li An’an said helplessly, “All right, I’ll try my best not to work overtime. If I do, I’ll talk to Principal Liu and pay her for her help.”

“Yeah, okay. We like kindergarten.”

The three little fellows unanimously agreed on this decision.

After dinner, the three kids watched television for half an hour before Li An’an told them to go to bed.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash.

Something had broken. Li An’an hurriedly came out of the washroom and saw Li Baobao standing helplessly by the cabinet with a doll in her hand.

A crystal swan lay shattered on the floor.

She hurried over.

“Baobao, are you okay?”

Li Baobao burst into tears.

“Mommy, it wasn’t on purpose. I wanted to take the doll and broke your favorite swan. I’m sorry.”

Tears streamed down Li Baobao’s face. Her curly lashes were bathed in tears, and even snot was starting to stream from her nose.

Li An’an hurriedly picked her up, afraid that she would step on glass shards.

“Junjun, look after your sister. Mommy will clean up.”

“Okay, Mommy.”

Li Junjun put down the book in his hand and pulled Li Baobao into his arms.

“Mommy, I’m sorry.”

Li Baobao was still very upset and was sobbing uncontrollably.

Li An’an turned around and smiled at her.

“It’s all right. It’s just a small ornament. Don’t cry anymore, Baobao. Be good and go to bed with your brother, okay?”

“Okay.” Li Baobao knew that she had gotten into trouble. She obediently curled up under the blanket and closed her eyes.

Li An’an went outside and sat on the floor, holding the broken glass in her hands. Her heart ached so much, she could barely breathe.

This was given to her by someone she liked.

But now, this little swan had been broken by Baobao. It was as though a part of her heart had broken off. It felt empty, suffocating, and so upsetting that she wanted to cry.

In the end, she held back her tears. She and Lu Ming were not from the same world. The care and indulgence he had shown her were as short-lived as fireworks. Although it was beautiful, it was ultimately destined to dissipate. He was such an outstanding person and he deserved a better woman.

Li An’an went to the villa early in the morning. Chu Yichen came downstairs on the dot. She had arrived just as he was about to leave for the office.

“Li An’an, help Young Master carry his things.”

The butler called out to her again.

Li An’an braced herself and followed Chu Yichen out with his things. Behind her, Bai Feifei looked at her with a venomous gaze.

Li An’an sighed in her heart. The butler was just causing Bai Feifei to hate her even more.

The door was opened by a bodyguard. Chu Yichen got into the car and leaned back casually, giving off a strongly oppressive aura.

“Your things.”

Li An’an handed the documents to Chu Yichen. Yesterday, he had said that she didn’t know the rules. Today, she handed the items to him with both hands and even bowed at a 90-degree angle.

Chu Yichen looked at the documents in front of him, and then at the woman who was bent double like a shrimp.

He casually accepted the document bag.

“Your waist is very fair.”

Li An’an hurriedly stood up straight. She was so angry that her face became slightly flushed. She did not notice that she had exposed herself.

“See no evil.”

She shot back at him.

If he hadn’t been so critical, would she have bowed so low like that? Yet here he was, still finding fault.

Chu Yichen said, “I didn’t want to look, but it was so white that it dazzled me.”

Li An’an told herself not to flare up, but her anger was boiling over.

“Then I’ll go get a tan when I have time. I wouldn’t want to risk blinding you.”
