Cheng Yan gazed at Yan Wei—his eyes as cold as ice.

“These materials have not been released by International Middle School. However, just because they haven’t released it, does that mean I couldn’t have it?” He cocked up an eyebrow.

“If they were not published, then how could you have a copy of it?”

Yao Tang pursed her lips. “Have you checked the bar codes of these review materials? Do you have any evidence that they aren’t official copies?”

“Do I still have to check?” Yan Wei scoffed. “Isn’t it obvious?”

Although she appeared confident, she had a bad feeling in her heart. Her stomach stirred inside of her and she looked away.

There shouldn’t be any review materials that had been released outside of International Middle School. However, why did she feel so uneasy about this situation?

Yao Tang, however, wouldn’t converse anymore. Instead, she grabbed one of the books and took out her phone. Her eyes narrowed as she flipped the page open.

Without another word, she scanned the barcode.

Beep!

The sound echoed across the field, and the website started to load.

At that moment, Yan Wei panicked. She immediately turned to Yao Tang, her cheeks flushed. “What are you planning?” she quickly said.

“Since you will not investigate this matter, then I’ll do it myself.”

She’d do it herself?

Yan Wei shuffled closely, digging her fingernails into her palms.

If these books were really pirated, then they wouldn’t have gotten themselves into trouble for investigating them, themselves.

However, now that she was actually bothering to scan them…Did that mean…

While Yan Wei was busy thinking of an exit, Yao Tangbrought up her phone and displayed her screen. “Well?” she demanded.

Her voice was light, but it was enough to make Yan Wei’s blood boil.

She looked a bit closer at the student’s phone to see that she really had looked up International Middle School’s official website.

And the copy was genuine!

That’s what they said.

However, the book wasn’t bound to a student’s personal information, which was strange for her.

Normally, whenever Yan Wei would scan the book, she’d see whether or not it belonged from internal or external channels. If it were from an internal channel, they wouldn’t each have a book belonging to them.

“Why isn’t it bound to a name?” Yan Weifurrowed her eyebrows.

“What do you mean?” Yao Tang raised her eyebrows. “You want to scan them yourself?”

“No…”

It wasn’t that.

“You’ve authenticated it, fine, but it didn’t say whether or not this came from official external channels. This still hasn’t been released, right? How could we know that you officially bought this?”

“That’s right. Do you think we’re that easy to fool?” Li Ruo sneered, stepping out from her place.

The review materials belonging to International Middle School were scarce. Why would they be giving these materials out?

“Fool?” Cheng Yan tilted his head.

“If they’re real, then why would there be so many books here?” Li Ruo snapped. Although she was a little scared, she forced herself to straighten her back.

“Yeah, are you really trying to say that they’re all authentic copies?”

Cheng Yan didn’t say a word in reply.

Seeing this, Yan Wei’s smile widened. “Or perhaps, I haven’t investigated this matter thoroughly. They can be authentic copies,” she slowly said. “But that doesn’t mean you’ve obtained them legally.”

After saying this, she grabbed her phone from her pocket.

Li Ruo’s eyes flashed. “Weiwei, what do you have in mind?”

“I’ll be calling the police.”

“Police?” Her face was filled with both anticipation and anxiety before she nodded. “After you call the police, they’ll both be arrested, right?”

Finally, the teacher couldn’t handle it anymore.

She staggered up, seeking to intervene, “There must be some misunderstanding. I, for one, believe there’s nothing wrong with the packaging. You’ve already authenticated the books, have you not? If you really are worried, then why don’t you call your own teacher over?”
