Chapter 30 - Roland The Sorcerer

A cold hand touched my shoulders which made me tumble in terror. I turn swiftly to see who it was. A cold figure standing in the slant of the sunlight, which made me close my eyes before opening them apart once again.

"Mary-Anne? You startled me"

"Hey Nancy, we didn't get the chance to talk yesterday. Wait are you spying on him?" she beamed. She gave me a goofy smile as she pulls me to the other side. Now we had a wall separating us from Roland and his mysterious company.

"No I wasn't, they were arguing about something and I didn't want to interrupt them" I muttered, technically I didn't want to interrupt him, and besides I could barely hear what they were saying.

"Okay, but you looked nervous?" she smirked. Anyone will if they see her scary features.

"We are not even friends Mary-Anne, so you can leave now" I stiffened.

"You will be seeing me around Nancy, from now on I will be watching over you" she whispered as she walk past me. What the hell! Who said I needed someone to watch over me. The tone in her voice scared me as if I was in some kind of danger that I didn't even know myself. I quickly brushed the thought off.

"The stone is your only option now Roland," one of the ladies said. Having a glimpse at them I couldn't tell the difference. They look identical and obviously, they are twins.

"What stone Roland?" I asked swiftly which made all of them nervous I preserve it was serious.

"Nancy, when did you get here?" Roland beamed.

"Oh, so you are the Nancy girl," the other lady asked. I didn't know if I was to answer that. Were they talking about me? I wrinkled my eyebrows in confusion.

"Roland is our cousin, we just came for a visit" she muttered as her eyes glance at me.

"Nancy, meet Deminika, and Norinika" Roland introduces. He looked disturbed.

"It's nice meeting you two" I sniffed as I stretched my hand for a handshake. She pulls me close to her for a hug "I prefer hugs" she muttered. She strikes me as a calm and nice person opposite from her twin.

"You are very beautiful Nancy, no wonder Roland can't stop talking about you" she grins.

"Um... Nori…" I murmured not sure if I was pronouncing it right. "It NORINIKA" she corrected with a smile.

"Thanks," I whispered gratefully. She looked at me and sped a bright, luminous smile, carrying an earnest sensation around her. I must admit I like her more than her other twin who seems taciturn.

"It was nice meeting you Nancy, I suppose it is time for your class, we will see each other again Nancy," she said as she pats my head and squeeze Roland's shoulders. Roland appears lost or perhaps petrified about something.

"What is wrong with you Roland?" I asked.

"What is wrong with me?" he repeated coolly.

"What stone do you need to find Roland? I can help you find it" I scowled. He was still in a daze. He knows I'm not going to stop and he is terrible at telling lies. He was compelled to tell me the truth.

"Can we skip class this morning? There is something I need to show you but not here" he chuckled.

"Roland, you are scaring me, what is it?" I muttered clenching onto my bag.

"It's a secret about me" he whimpered. "Follow me" he commanded.

I was curious and I wanted to know what his secret was about.

It is true when they say curiosity kills the cat. We arrive at a small hut in the mountains. I followed him inside the hut even though I was scared. Betty won't stop calling my phone.

"I'm a sorcerer" he muttered.

"What? Is this some kind of joke or a prank?" I chuckled waiting for him to laugh but nothing shows he was joking.

"And…" he puckered.

What that's not all there is more, "Nancy, to make a long story short we need to find an ancient stone to break a curse" he whimpered waiting for a reaction from me.

"Wait, a curse? What has that got to do with me or you?" I scoff. Confusion was all my face, he turn to explain into details but that got me even more confused.

"You carry a curse Nancy" he left out softly trying not to make me panic but it was too late.

"Cursed?" I repeated emotionlessly.
