Chapter 525 - The hen party (4)

Name:Tell Me Again, My Love Author:Fifie
Ryn coaxed her best friend patiently. Finally, after fifteen minutes, Mika grudgingly agreed to leave the park. They, holding hands together, walked to the exit. Ryn went to get the car while Mika went to retrieve the toys they won earlier.

Mika was sulking beside Ryn. Ryn, glancing at her best friend a few times while driving, just shook her head in bemused. They had spent almost one whole day together but Mika still felt it was not enough.

Sigh...

They reached the restaurant without Ryn even once coaxing Mika. She just let her best friend pout and sulk..

"Come on, stop pouting. We're here," Ryn said as she unbuckled her seat belt. She grabbed her bag from the back and looked at her sulking best friend, chuckled. "Mika, let's go."

Mika gave her a sad look but Ryn just grabbed Mika's love-shaped bag and gave it to Mika.

"I'll leave you here if you still refuse to move."

Mika watched as Ryn got out of the car after shutting off the engine. Her pair of eyes followed Ryn as she walked to the building.  Pouting, Mika quickly unbuckled the seat belt and rushed toward Ryn. She did not want to be alone in the car.

Ryn just stood at the entrance, hiding a grin when she felt a presence. She did not even look over her shoulder to check whether it was Mika or someone else. Instead, she simply went into the restaurant and smiled at the manager who was welcoming the customers into the restaurant.

"Hello. A private book under the name Catherine?" Ryn told the manager. She smiled when she felt the familiar perfume of Mika from behind her.

"You're so bad," Mika whɨnėd after they were shown their private room and the manager left them. She did not even look at the decoration. That was how sulky she was almost being left alone by her own best friend.

"If I didn't do that, would you stay in the car the whole night?" Ryn squeezed Mika's cheeks playfully.

Mika pouted.

"Stop making that face. See, what do you think of the decoration?" Ryn asked as she turned Mika around to look at the room.

"They look good," Mika said half-heartedly. She was still sulking and wanted more coaxing from her best friend.

Ryn chuckled. She wrapped her arms around Mika and stroked her best friend's back gently, soothingly.

"Okay, I'm sorry," Ryn apologized. She did not want this to trigger Mika and she started to think toward the negative side.

"Hmph..."

"I am your best friend. Even when you're married, we can still spend time together alone," Ryn pinched Mika's nose playfully. "We do share a brand together so we won't be separated."

"But today is special," Mika whɨnėd.

"You..."

The manager did not notice anything amiss because both Mika and Ryn managed to gather themselves and sat on their chair calmly. Mika even sipped her glass of water while checking her phone.

The manager and the waiter quickly arrange the entree on the table. And then, the manager introduced the food while the waiter refilled the water. Once they were done, both the manager and the waiter left the room politely and quietly. They could be called for the next menu or for a refill by pressing a buŧŧon on the wall.

Maybe it was hunger but Mika no longer threw tantrums at Ryn. Both women focussed on their food. Of course, Mika took a photo of it first for memory.

The next time the same manager and waiter came into the room, both bowls were empty of food. The waiter quickly collected the empty dishes before he arranged the next meal on the table. The manager asked if they wanted the alcohol now, which they refused earlier.

Both agreed to have the drink now.

"Can you take our picture?" Mika asked the manager.

The manager accepted the phone from Mika and stepped back so he could get the decoration into the frame as well.

Both Ryn and Mika clicked the glass and looked at the camera with a smile.

The manager clicked a few times and hoped one of them was acceptable for the women. Then, he followed Mika's whim when she decided to use the decoration as a prop and background to take pictures with Ryn.

"Make sure our shirts are clear," Mika reminded.

The manager nodded. He was busy setting the camera, the lighting, and the frame so the pictures came out good.

Ryn, too lazy to admonish the finally happy and excited Mika, just allowed herself to be moved around despite their food was already on the table.

The waiter just stood at the wall, keeping quiet as he watched full of interest.

Once Mika was satisfied, the manager and the waiter excused themselves.

Ryn took a sip of her white wine as she watched Mika reaching for her fork and knife. Mika's steak was made from oat, tofu, and mushroom. Ryn refused to even taste a bite but with the way Mika was happily eating it, Ryn guessed the taste was acceptable.

"Wait... I forgot to record this," Mika gasped suddenly while they were having their meal.

Ryn lifted her head and looked at her best friend but her mouth never stopped chewing the meat. She watched as Mika took out her folded camera stand holder. She adjusted the length and set the camera so it focussed on them. Then, she sat back on her chair and reached for her glass of wine which Ryn refilled earlier.

"Right now we're having dinner at this restaurant. As I am still on diet, my steak is not a real steak but made from tofu, mushroom, and oat."

Mika talked a little more about the food and the taste before the topic turned to Ryn but the steak was almost finished when the camera focussed on Ryn's food.

"What can I say? It's delicious," Ryn defended herself quickly before Mika could groan her name.

Mika's mood was okay now so the dinner was a relaxing and enjoyable experience for both of them. Unlike what happened during the hen party for the other brides-to-be, Ryn did not give any present to Mika.

As she almost forgot about it, she did not even have time to buy one for Mika. Luckily Jeremy helped her with today's activities or Ryn did not know what she would do. Ryn was a bit ashamed for her inability to be a good bridesmaid but it seemed like Mika did not care at all. It gave her determination to do well during her surprise for Mika during the wedding.

Mika thought the dinner was the end of their celebration but she was wrong. Ryn, not wanting Mika to have any regret, actually drove them to a club. The celebration will end there officially and she also needed to check the party for Jason. She was not that worried but just in case.

Mika followed Ryn happily as they walked into the club and went straight to the private room upstairs. The huge smile was never erased from her face as she bobbed her head to the music until the moment they entered the room and she saw the people inside.

"Baby? My love," Mika screamed as she rushed into the room and hugged the man refilling his beer.

Jason chuckled and hugged Mika back. In fact, he lowered her and kissed her lips gently.

"I miss you," he whispered and kissed her again. "I miss you so much."

"I miss you too," Mika replied and accepted his kiss. She really missed him after one whole day did not meet him.

Ryn smiled watching the engaged couple. She closed the door and went to sit beside Jeremy who was also watching the couple. "Thanks for everything."

"Anything for you, my love," Jeremy replied. He also wanted to do what Jason was doing to Mika but he could sense Ryn was not having that kind of mood. Instead, Ryn reached for a glass of beer, Jeremy to be precise, and sipped it slowly.

"How's the party?"  she asked, already not looking at the still kissing couple. At first, it was endearing but now, she felt the couple was too much. Mika only spent almost one day with Ryn but Jason acted as if they have been separated for years.

These two did not need oxygen? How long were they going to keep kissing?

At long last, the engaged couple had enough of kissing. But the intimacy was no less as Mika, instead of sitting beside Jason, chose to sit on Jason's thɨġh.

Ryn shook her head in bemused and continued eating the snack provided by the club. She also drank the beer. The party was officially done and she was glad... and relieved.
