Chapter 520 - Create a future for them

Name:Tell Me Again, My Love Author:Fifie
Ryn waved them goodbye before she got into the car. The driver already left after he sent her to the orphanage so now Jeremy would send her home. As she was still in the middle of filming, the crews already installed the camera in Jeremy's car.

"Ah... are you tired?" Jeremy asked once Ryn was done pulling the safety belt.

"Hmm... I didn't expect for us to spend here that long," she said tiredly.

"Only a few more days left.. Have you packed your bag?" he asked as he switched the gear and let the car glid out of the area. He glanced at the side mirror and chuckled.

"What? What's wrong?" she asked in a puzzle and saw what made him chuckled when she looked at the mirror. She saw the kids waving at them and smiled.

"Do you think they... will be adopted?" she asked softly.

He sighed. Of course, he would want them to be adopted by a nice and loving family. But in the real world, it was almost impossible for the older kids to be chosen for adoption. Hence, he and the rest of the board are discussing what they could do to help the kids.

She saw his sigh and knew the answer without he needed to answer. She put a hand on his hand that was holding the steering. "Can we do something about it?"

"Do you have any idea?"

She frowned. She was not that good academically compared to Jeremy and Mika. Although she was a university student, it did not mean she could answer all questions correctly.

They were quiet for a while. He let her ponder over this while he concentrated on his driving. He smiled seeing the serious look on her face.

"What if..." she paused.

"Do you have any idea?" he asked, glancing at her.

"What if we create a future for them?" she asked, her eyes shone.

"What do you mean?" he asked interestingly. Create a future for the orphans?

"Right now we are sending those who are in an age to school, right? Making sure they have the education while hoping for them to be adopted. However, what happens after they finish school? And what if they can't continue their education at the university?"

"They will have to survive outside after 18 years old. We can only keep them until 18," Jeremy pointed out with a sigh.

"That's why we need to create a future for them... unless they have their own idea," Ryn said. She frowned. "As you know there are not many who are like you, smart and brilliant."

He grinned hugely at the sudden praise. It was hard to receive anything sweet from her nowadays so it was a surprise. A good surprise.

"For those who are not good academically, it would be bad for them if they could not find a good job after school. So why don't we train them for their future?" she suggested.

"What kind of training?"

"Baking, business, technology... whatever that works... if some of them have talent in modelling and have the patience and strength, I can put them under my wings," Ryn shrugged, "And you can help with the musical talent."

"You've gotten everything thought out?" he asked with a chuckle. Her idea was brilliant but it would take time for preparation and get agreement from the board.

"But it will take time for preparation and find suitable teachers. We do need rooms too for the classes. Also timetables and who should learn what..." her words trailed off as she frowned. So many things to do and the money that they would need just to start the project.

"We need a lot of money for this project," she said sadly. Her shoulders dropped.

"Join the board meeting a month after the wedding," he suddenly said.

"I thought you're going to be busy with the tour," she asked with a frown. She knew he was going to be extra busy after Mika's wedding. Although he has pulled out from the group, he has agreed to join the tour and it would be the last tour he would have with the group.

"I'll make a time for the meeting," he said with a smile. He was happy to know that she remembered about the tour. He thought she would not remember things about him when she refused to say the L-word.

"Do you need paperwork for that?" she asked worriedly. She hated writing paperwork for anything and only did what she needed to pass the subject.

"Do you want to write it?" he asked with a ċȯċk of an eyebrow. He knew her reluctance of doing it and wanted to see whether she would do it for the sake of...

"Why don't you do it?" she answered quickly.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"You know I hate doing this type of thing," she grumbled with a glare.

He chuckled. He freed one hand from the steering and reached to pinch her cheek playfully. Of course, he knew it.

"Why do you still insist on being the spokesperson for the foundation when you are one of us?" he asked.

"I'm good with the media but not good in a meeting," she replied, "Besides, I am not used to your people."

"But you're in the business study," he pointed out dryly.

"Let say I was having a fever when I chose my course," she snapped.

He chuckled.

"I'll talk about this with Mika. Give her the credit," she muttered.

"She won't steal your credit. Don't get too agitated, Ryn. I know what to do," he quickly soothed her feather before she get too frustrated with him.

She crossed her arms and frowned. She knew her suggestion would require a lot of money and the foundation was not a hen laying a golden egg every day. Everything needed to be paid. The bills. The workers. Even the kids' food, clothes and education.

"We need to get more money," she blurted out.

"Hmm...? For the project?" he asked. It seemed like even though she did not want to discuss who should introduce the topic to the board, she just could not stop thinking about the kids.

"Why don't we have a flea market? I do have things that I can still sell..." she suggested.

"Are you sure?" he asked, "You just donated quite a lot last time. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"I still have some things. Even if I don't, I just buy new ones to donate," she shrugged. "I'll ask my friends if they are interested in this."

"Fine. I'll tell Mika to plan it but after the honeymoon," he said and pinched her cheek again.

"Stop pinching my cheek," she ġrȯȧnėd and pushed his hand away.

He chuckled.

It was silence again. He was grinning while she was still frowning.

The car glided along the road, heading not to her home but to a restaurant. He knew she did not eat much when she went to the room next door.

"We're here. I've booked us a table," he announced once the car stopped.

She did not look around but instead nod dumbly. She undid the safety belt and reached for her bag. And then, she got out once Jeremy opened the door. She accepted his hand and walked with him to the restaurant not far from the parking lot.

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

"Hmm..." she rubbed her stomach sadly. As she missed two meals and when it was finally time for her to eat, she did not eat to her content but just enough to keep the hunger at bay. After the practice, of course, everything she ate that time already digested. And now, she was hungry.

He smiled. He urged her to walk faster and smiled when they reached the entrance.

She looked at the restaurant eagerly. She did not notice how hungry she was until he asked her. And once she saw the restaurant and seeing how many customers were in the restaurant, she knew the food was good. And she could not wait to taste them.
