"What is wrong with these two? Ah! Can't they just get out of my sight?"

"I don't think they will be going out again. Why don't we just leave?"

"Shut up your mouth. Don't be scared, I'll pay you properly."

The driver and the person at the back of the car conversed. They had followed Zhaolin and Xueyan to the lakeside and now to her house too.

Now being in a close proximity with her, he had the urge to kiss her. To taste that succulent lips.

She was currently pouting and it made him uncomfortable.

Zhaolin breathed in and out, then swallowed. "Good night," and with one swift move he was heading for his car.

Xueyan sighed. "He must think I'm keeping things from him. He didn't even give me chance to say goodnight." She turned with saddened mood and entered the elevator leading to their apartment.

Zhaolin didn't think his action just now had stirred an emotion within her.

*

Xueyan got in and found a fast asleep Qingran. As Yuxi was currently not in the country.

She touched her baby's cheek and kissed them before going to shower.

"Hahahaha!" The laugh resonated in the washroom.

"Really? Did you think we are friends now‽ How dare you try to get close to me‽ And how dare you try to smile at me‽ Are you insane‽" Cui Yao yelled angrily.

Causing Xueyan to back away in shock, she continued moving backwards while Cui Yao closed up on her.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-love_13372375705587405/don't-please._50996906322614818 for visiting.

"You! You!! You!!! Do you know how much I hate you? What is with you? What is with you being friendly with everyone?" Cui Yao accused angrily. The sight of Xueyan sitting and laughing with the boys had infuriated her greatly.

She believes Xueyan acted dumb but when with the boys, she talked more, she laughed so heartily.

Xueyan closeness was causing their Shiya heartaches.

"Who do you think you are fooling? How dare you even think you're fooling us? How dare you this wench‽ Ouch!" Cui Yao held her head. She now had a headache, due to her shouts and the blood boiling inside her.

Seventy-five minutes earlier...

"Shiya, what do you want to have for lunch?" Cui Yao smiled sweetly to her friend.

Shiya stopped writing and looked up at her friend. "I'm having lunch with Zhao,"

"Oh my, is it true then?" Qingnuan asked, excited.

"What is?" Shiya feigned ignorance.

"Don't tell me you didn't hear the rumors going on?" Cui Yao pouted. "You're keeping information from us. Information that will excite us greatly."

Shiya gave a light laugh. She always showed that she was brought up with great manner, always smiling and never yelling. She had the aura of a young miss from a noble family. If it was in the Ming era.

People tend to grow and change, will she be able to remain like this?)

"My parents had dinner with the Xings yesterday..."

"Oh my!" Her two friends closed their mouths.

"Tell us more," Qingnuan urged. "What did they discuss?"

"Will they finally betroth you and brother Zhaolin?" Cui Yao was eager to know.

Shiya stopped smiling. "Just like all the times my parents has met them, and came back with dashed hopes..." She paused and breathed in. "Yesterday night it was different though,"

"Oooh," the two friends made a long oh sound.

"There seems to be hope," she couldn't contain her joy when her mother gave her the news. It had been like a bomb.

Herself and Zhaolin had known each other for a very long time now, when they first met was when she was five. She had gone home to tell her mother she wanted to marry that prince charming, how she wanted to be the only one he smiled to.

Now her dreams where finally coming to pass. It hadn't been easy, it had been harder than she thought. Zhaolin had rejected her times without numbers, saying he only saw her as a friend. And each time she would starve and lock herself up in her room.

The smile on her face was so genuine.

Cui Yao and Qingnuan even looked happier as if they were the one that was getting betrothed.

"Let's go already, I bet he's at the canteen waiting." Cui Yao kept giggling.

Shiya put her books in her desk and then locked it as they headed to the canteen.

They got to the filled up canteen, and started searching for the trio's table.

And just when they sighted the three, they seemed to have had lunch and was ready to leave.

Cui Yao tripped as she tried to catch up with them, thankfully Qingnuan was right behind her and caught her.

She now had everyone's attention, and the place quietened down.

"Brother Zhao!" She called out loudly.

"Wait," Cui Yao said, smiling.

Shiya stepped forward and walked towards them. As she got closer, she saw Zhaolin whisper something into Dai Jingyao's ear.

Jingyao walked to meet her and said something to her that made her frown but she switched and smiled almost at the same time.

"Okay, I understand."

Jingyao went back to his friends and they exited.

Qingnuan and Cui Yao soon caught up with Shiya.

"What is it? What did he say?" Cui Yao asked eagerly.

"They are rushing to somewhere," Shiya answered absentmindedly. Her eyes didn't leave the door after they left.

"What?" Qingnuan hissed. "Doesn't he know you two are supposed to have lunch and discuss?" They didn't like anyone treating Shiya bad. It hurts them, because Shiya was like a rose flower, tender and soft but has torns. "Is he avoiding you?"

"Let's eat," Cui Yao said. "Make sure to speak with him before the school closes, maybe you two can have dinner together."

Shiya nodded and went to the table they had just stood up from.

*

"You had lunch?" Jiuwen asked

"Yes, and you?" Xueyan asked back.

Jiuwen nodded.

The two were sitting down on a bench at the grass field. The field was so wide, that there were boys playing soccer game and at another side of the field were another group of boys playing tug of war.

Jiuwen sighed. "What do you want to do? I'm bored to hell."

"We could play a..."

"Ah," Jiuwen's eyes caught sight of the trio. "Zhaolin!" She yelled with all her strength, stood up to wave her hands as they were a bit far.

*

Xiangyang used his hands to cover his face and look up. "Xueyan is there as well."

When Zhaolin heard that, he tried not to smile. "I need to know why my sister is calling me," he didn't even wait for his friends and went forward.

Jingyao hissed. "He should just say he wants to go see her,"

"Haha, right." Xiangyang stated and followed up.

*

"Why are you calling them? They seem to be heading somewhere." Xueyan complained.

"No, no. My brother is never busy. He will come anyways,"

Jiuwen adores Xueyan and she preferred this girl she just became friends with than that cunning fox Shiya.

She didn't like Shiya because of the type of friends she ȧssociated herself with. How can she be friends with those two swine? Or is it that she didn't know the type of people they were or she just pretends not to know?

Now Zhaolin was standing with that dominating aura in front of the two sitting.

Jiuwen giggled. "You're here," she shifted and made Xueyan do the same. "Sit,"

The space was at Xueyan's side.

Xueyan heart started thumping as she looked towards the other side, to avoid looking at him.

Zhaolin brazenly sat down.

"You're so cute," Jiuwen stretched her hand to reach his cheek, but she had to rely on Xueyan which made Xueyan rest on his body.

Her heart beat accelerated. Jiuwen! Xueyan screamed in her head.

"Did you know my brother is so obedient?" Jiuwen asked, after rebalancing herself.

"Bro, I didn't know you had such strength to walk fast." Jingyao said, while walking over to the next bench.

"What is wrong with Zhaolin?" Jiuwen asked.

"I'm perfectly fine," Zhaolin answered.

"Yeah I know, you're so healthy." Jiuwen admired him with stars in her eyes. "And so obedient too."

Xiangyang hissed. "The first I'll agree but the last, is uhm, a lie."

"What do you know?" Jiuwen sat up from her space on the bench after dropping her key on the ground. "Zhaolin is the most obedient child out here. He listens to me."

Xiangyang rolled his eyes. "That's a lie."

"Shut up if you have nothing to say." Jiuwen then turned to Zhaolin. "Where were you three

going to?"

"To watch the game."

"Ahh? That's good, let's go watch together." Jiuwen said. She grabbed Zhaolin's and Xueyan's hand's each and they strode forward.

"Ah, I forget my desk key." She joined the two hands and went back to go get her key.

Xueyan was looking at their locked hands as she couldn't bring herself to move.

"I can walk on my own." She said after she recovered and tried to pull her hands out.

"Don't," Zhaolin said. "Please."
