Chapter 165 - THE AUDACITY

Name:THE CEO's LOVE Author:JoannaAngel05
"Those two bastards," Shiya said over the phone. "Keep following them. He doesn't hesitate to go out with her..."

The thought of the two smiling at each other right now infuriated Shiya.

What is wrong with Zhaolin‽ She wanted to know so bad, but asking the other person on the phone would be a big mistake.

"Okay, bye." She said then quickly hung up, when she heard the door upstairs open. She turned to see who it was.

It didn't take a second more before the light in the whole house came back on.

Zhihao stood at the top of the stairs, his hands in his pajamas pant and a very big frown on his face.

"Zhi?"

"I'm trying to catch some sleep, what is your problem?"

The hand she used on holding her phone tightened.

"I'm sorry,"

"You always are." He hissed. "Who were you referring to as bastards?"

It was the audacity for Shiya. "No one important,"

"Oh," his face lightened. "Good then, I had thought you were referring to my daddy and that special person." He watched her closely. Shiya was one to lose her cool easily.

Shiya's throat bobbed with so many things to say. "What do you mean?" She tilted her head at him and tried her best not to allow the little boy see her discomfort.

"You didn't know?" He shook his head. "Aish, I shouldn't have said it then. Just pretend you didn't hear anything." After saying that he went back to his room, just like the way he had come out just that this time the light didn't go out.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-love_13372375705587405/the-audacity_50302542449538249 for visiting.

Shiya stood there like a statue. Her heart shattered in a thousand pieces. Everything he had just said, replayed in her head like it was put on repeat.

Shiya grabbed the hem of her skirt, she should have never saved Xueyan when her friends bullied her back then. Never.

How can she let the words of that little boy get to her? He had said all that on purpose. That special person? Xueyan? How dare she manipulate Zhi even without him knowing her? Why was she so good?

Zhaolin smiled. "I want you, and I want her as well. By the way, she is already acquainted with my son. So it won't be much of a problem."

Xueyan gave him a tiny smile. "Fine then,"

"Just fine? You have your doubts?"

"Yes, you are living with a woman under your roof. Everyone in the country knows you two are married and only a few knows that she's not the one that birthed Zhihao... Don't you find it had, to believe to?"

He shook his head. "Perhaps you're right."

"I won't be able to be your date,"

*

The two stood side by side resting their back against the car as they watched the fishes in the lake swim around.

"Where will Ran'er be doing the holidays?"

Xueyan turned to him. "What do you mean by that?"

"Won't she go on a vacation outside the country?"

"Oh, that? Nowhere."

"Zhihao plans on going to Hawaii, why don't they go together?"

She showed a look of surprise. "That is..."

"You don't want her out of your sight?"

"Not so far away, but for sure if she finds out she wouldn't hesitate a minute to say yes. I'm just worried."

"Her safety is guaranteed, just like my son's."

"I'll think about it."

*

The journey back to her house was quiet, he had offered to drop her off.

Once the car engine went off, Xueyan turned to open the car door but Zhaolin held her back.

"I will do that, try thinking it over and talk to Ran'er maybe she would agree."

Xueyan tried not to laugh. "She will agree for sure."

He offered his hand to her, she held onto it and stepped out.

"Good night," he said after kissing her hand.

"Good night," she flashed him a very sincere smile.

Why did he look so perfect? Why did he have to be so eye catching? Why did he have to have so many women craving for him? Why did he have to agree to be with Shiya first?

Did he smile like this to her? Was he sweet to Shiya as he was to her? Did he kiss her too?

She was staring at Zhaolin, totally consumed by his presence. She didn't even know she had been staring.

Zhaolin watched her expression change from admiration to a frown. Her brows creased.

He suppressed a chuckle, he really didn't know what was going on in her mind or head to warrant those expressions.

Did he really kiss her? It made her think back to their first kiss. It had made her heart thump and bump more blood.

"What are you thinking?" He bent a bit to so he could be the same height with her. "Hmm?"

"Hmmm?" Xueyan was stunned.

"What are you thinking? You were looking at me with such cool and admiring eyes but suddenly..."

"How close are you and Shiya?"

"Xiao Shiya?" He frowned. "Why are you suddenly curious?"

"I want to know if you two have gotten close," she didn't know what gave her the courage, maybe it was her curiosity.

He smirked. "What do you think?" He wanted to tease her. "We live under the same roof, so it's possi..." He trailed off on purpose to see her next reaction.

"You mean, you... You two... You two has..."

He nodded his head.

Xueyan mouth fell open and her eyes bulged. "Really?"

He nodded again.

"I mean..."

"I know what you are talking about, and yes it really happened."

She pulled out her hand from his hold with force and turned to leave.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"Home, I'm tired. I need to rest my head." She hurried away.

He went after her, and when he caught up to her, he hugged her from the back.

Xueyan stilled at the warmness, he had given her his coat when they got to the lakeside. Preventing her from catching a cold. She thought her body had warmed up enough until this moment.

His warm breath was on her ear. Her heart started beating fast.

"Did you actually believe that?"

Why shouldn't she? They had been married for a long time now, and she had been away in another city. Maybe all those years, he had craved for it... And he just happened to do it with her...

The thought of it infuriated Xueyan, she didn't even know why.

"I didn't." He said when she didn't say anything.

"I don't believe you," she turned to face him. "Did you remain a celibate all these years?"

"Didn't you remain as one?" He returned her question.

"That's understandable but you're a man," she pouted.

And it made him smile. "I think I meant to say that,"

She frowned, "Are you accusing me?"

"No, but you..."

He tilted her head, she now understood what he meant.

He didn't know? He still doesn't know? I thought he had searched up on me. He had been the one to come find her in that old house.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." He apologized when he saw the sad expression on her face.

"It's okay," she tried to smile. "It's just that I don't like talking about it."

"I won't ask again, then." Maybe she didn't trust him enough to tell him all there's to her. What happened all these years, why she suddenly left school. Why no one heard or spoke about her.

Even though he had taken time to recuperate, his sudden sickness back then still remained a mystery to him. And when he returned, she wasn't no where to be found. It was like she disappeared from the face of the earth. And he decided to focus on the company and his child.

Until she reappeared with a little girl who looked just like her, he didn't need anyone to tell him who the child belonged to. He wanted to know who the little girl's father was, but it was a wound she didn't want to reopen. So he put that at the back of his mind.

Seeing her brought happiness to him and the thought of making her his woman came. He wanted her, no matter her past. He didn't give a care about that, if she had been married and divorced, he would make sure to send the man far away. So she wouldn't be reminded of him.

He didn't want any threat. And that made him think about Xiujun.

That fool.
