30 I Don'st Deserve

Aliya remembered those incidents in which she had taunted him mercilessly. Suddenly she asked a question which startled Rishi and made him to think for a few seconds as to what she was referring to.

"Are you okay, Rishi?"

"I..... what happened to me?"

"Ugh.... nothing."

Even before their conversation could end properly the doctor came in

"Aliya can go now. She recovered fast. But Aliya you must take care that you drink enough water, follow a proper diet and do not take any tension. You can collect your medicines down in the counter while nurse will instruct you about the doses and timings."

"Thank you doctor. But what about the bill?"

"Mr.Rishi has already done the payment."

"Hmmm"

The doctor left. But Rishi was still puzzled by Aliya's weird behaviour. He saw pity in her eyes for him. He was now sure from where this change came from. He was determined to know what actually had happened in that room. On top of that, her previous reply to the doctor, "hmmm" also sounded cryptic.

Meanwhile Aliya changed her clothes from the hospital one's to her's. She went down to the counter to collect her medicines. She listened to the nurse instructions with rapt attention. Rishi and his guards were already waiting for her outside. Rishi was sitting inside a sedan car. When Aliya came out she was led by one guard to Rishi's car. She sat inside and the car left the hospital's premises.

The journey from hospital to hotel was only for 20 minutes. But these 20 minutes saw a good argument between Aliya and Rishi

"Sir if you don't mind may I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"Sir don't you feel that you're giving much more importance than I require? I mean this is what I felt basically. Maybe I'm wrong."

He took a few seconds to answer

"Of course you are wrong. You are the I/O psychologist of my company. Because of you there will be many productive employees working under me. See as the CEO of a company, I will basically look upon profits, losses, etc but one thing most of the companies ignore is the major role played by the employees which results in profits. And to employ best men for job, to keep them motivated, to improve company's policies are your responsibilities. Do you know what it means? It means that you also play a crucial part in our company's success."

Listening to his not so praiseworthy speech, Aliya thought that if she had knew her importance before she would have demanded more payment. But before she could even open her mouth to speak Rishi continued

"I know after getting the job, a thought may have passed in your mind that why am I giving you a high salary package knowing that you do not have even a month's experience? I have an answer for that too. You have really worked hard for these many years. You have enough qualifications from top universities for this job. I do not know if I should say this or not but I actually inquired about you before you joined the company and I found you apt for this job. Compared to India, in other developed states you will be startled to see what is the pay package of I/O psychologists. This is nothing in front of what I have offered."

Aliya felt as Rishi had mugged up this answer and he just rushed to say this without even realizing what her question was.

"But that is not the answer for what I asked you?"

As soon as Rishi finished he heard this question. He felt that all of his hard work to by heart these reasons has gone in vain. He had actually planned to answer this if Aliya asks a similar question like this.

"Then what did you expect?"

"I didn't expect anything. But my question was why this special treatment for me? I meant.... Actually let me be straightforward.... Making me a temporary assistant for Bhavna and for that paying me more than what I deserve, personally picking me up for airport even though you knew that there is a risk of paparazzi, interfering in gossips, answering someone's taunts on my behalf, making me stay in a hi-fi room besides your's and Bhavna, admitting me to a VIP room, bill payment..... and many more. This is what I was talking about. Don't you think these are the things which I don't deserve? Now let me tell you what you don't know. There are gossips going in office about me and you being linked up with each other or having some interests for each other. The scene created by you and Anushka has not yet faded away from anyone's mind. Your special treatment for me is making others jealous. Now if I say that, the news of you carrying me in your arms and rushing to the hospital has already spread like fire in the office back in Mumbai, won't be wrong, right? Now if you wonder how I know about all this then for your kind information, if fire spreads then there will be smoke. Of course these gossips reached my ears too. And today's incident..... I wasn't conscious but I was sub-conscious. Not clearly though but I saw your face. It is not a ridiculous daily soap where after an accident the injured heroine asks 'where am I or who took me here'. I am of course that intelligent to evaluate everything by myself. So in the end I WOULD LIKE TO SAY that I don't deserve this 'extra-special treatment' but I definitely DESERVE your answer. Answer me sir."
