66 Breakfas

In the storage room, I realize that I forget something important to my business. There's no problem with vegetables and spices, they can be provided by my father in law, but I still need a supply for meat and fish. Fortunately, I aware this matter early, not before when our business about to open. From the previous body owner memory, I recalled that the one usually in charge to provide meat is his employee, brother Zhang, the one that I should call but I still have not done until now. Oh well, I should call him and ask him about his current condition. If he still free, I should offer him to join my food truck business and handle the meat and fish matter.

But that's something to do later, right now I have to make breakfast for my family with the ingredients that available here. My brain is thinking hard to find a dish that suitable for this condition. I want to make breakfast that have enough carbohydrates for daily activities and have good taste. I already discard idea to make salads. Finally, I get something nice to make for breakfast.

I take the ingredient that I need from the storage. They are not much, only potatoes, green onion, pepper, and some eggs. After taking the ingredients that I need, I go to the kitchen to start making breakfast. First, I boiled some potatoes first to make mashed potatoes, while preparing the others ingredients. For this dish, I will need :

2 tablespoons milk

Salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon chopped green onion

2 egg yolks, beaten

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

4 cups mashed potatoes

1 egg, beaten

Sifted dried bread crumbs

Peanut oil, enough to fill pan 1/2-inch

After the potatoes done and made into mashed potato, I start to make that dish. It's a dish called croquette, something that already widely known. The directions to make this dish is quite simple

Add milk, salt, pepper, chopped onion, beaten egg yolks and flour to mashed potatoes. Chill and then shape using an ice cream scoop. Dip in the beaten egg then rolls through breadcrumbs. Fry each croquette in shallow oil until brown on all sides.

With those ingredients, from the recipe, I can make into 15 servings but since my family has a big appetite, I make more than that. And for the time I needed to make this croquette, I only need a time less than one hour to make.

When I'm about to finish making the breakfast, Ming Er come in from kitchen doors and greet me,

"Good morning hubby"

"Morning wifey"

I greet her back while giving her something that always I give her every morning, good morning kisses.

"Mmm..that's smell good….what you make for breakfast, hubby?"

"It's called croquette, and I almost finish. Help me bring to the dining room, okay"

"Sure"

With Ming Er help, I bring the croquette that I just made to the dining room. The other family members are already waiting there for breakfast. Besides my brother in law, Shao He, that looks still sleepy, the other family members look fresh and full with vitality, I wonder what makes them look like that.

"Finally! Breakfast ready…what is that son?"

"This dish called croquette, father"

"Huh, not Chinese food? No problem, sometimes we need a variation for breakfast. Can this croquette eat with rice?"

"Yes, add with some sauces if you fill necessary, father"

"Good! Put that in the table and take a seat son"

I put the plates with croquette on the table and take a seat beside Ming Er. After praying, we start to eat breakfast together. Since this is their first time eating croquette, they not talking during eating, trying to feel the taste of the new dish on their tongue. But when they end the breakfast, there's no single croquette left on the table, all moved to our stomach.

"Hmm…not bad, it's quite tasty too. Son, thanks for this delicious breakfast"

"You welcome, father"

"While waiting for Shao He sleeps for a while, why not you accompany me to the field? You can see our vegetables in the farmland"

"May I, father? I would glad to accompany you there"

"I also want to go there, father"

"Huh? You too, Ming Er? You want to go to farmland because you don't want to separate from your beloved husband?"

Everyone in the dining room is laughing when hearing my father in law question.

"Hmph! Father, I want to go there to take pictures. It will be a good advertisement to show how the food in our food truck comes from"

Ming Er explaining while pouting her little mouth.

"Hahaha…alright, you two can come along with me, but you also should help with the works on there"

After changing the clothes with something that fit to works in the farmland, I and Ming Er follow my father in law to go to their farmland. I wonder how their farmland looks alike, it also my first time see the real agricultural system in this world, which makes me feel excited.
