Chapter 65 - Old Crafter

"Are you Britta's friend?"

The old man, who had just come out of the wooden house, asked.

"That's right… Are you the Old Crafter?" Cyril asked as he observed the man.

"Yes… Let's discuss your request inside." The old man replied as he invited Cyril to his house.

He appears to be an old monk with a white beard and mustache. Although his robe doesn't seem to belong to the Temple Monks, his aura still has similarities.

'I didn't know that the Old Crafter would have this kind of identity. Though he's not wearing monk's clothes, he must be related to them since he's living here.' Cyril mused.

He also noticed that the old man has full control of his Aura and he is using it to carry his weight! He must've achieved the peak of Aura Control already!

'Wait, he seems to be injured? Did he not receive my Lesser Healing Potion?'

Cyril then noticed that the man's left leg seems to be incapable of moving. It's no wonder why the old man is carrying himself with his Aura.

'Was the potion not enough to heal his injury?' He pondered.

He knows that the potion has limitations, however, any external injuries should still be cured by the potion.

It means that it could even fix broken bones as long as it wasn't amputated.

'If it's not that type of injury… Then it can only mean that an Artifact's Ability was used to injure him or perhaps even a curse.'

As he thought of this, the old man gestured to Cyril to sit on the old sofa.

"Right, I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Ulf Kohler… I'm using Old Crafter just to remind myself of humble beginnings… Britta mentioned that you are the supplier of the Lesser Healing Potion… I heard that the supply is also very limited… Thank you for giving this old man a chance to purchase them."

Ulf said as soon as Cyril was seated.

"No worries, Sir Ulf… I'm just glad that the potions were able to help you." Cyril replied.

'Humble beginnings? He has an impressive temperament I guess.'

Cyril recalled that there will be several blacksmiths or crafters that will be popular in the Awakened Society.

They would call themselves Master Xun, Godly Steel, Heavenly Hammer, and Divine Hands to name a few… They all have imposing names, unlike the Old Crafter which is similar to just an old man in the neighborhood.

Cyril nodded at this as his impression of him increased even more.

'Maybe it's related to him being connected to the monks of the temple?'

Monks are known for their discipline and how they tempered their minds and bodies… It was no wonder why the Old Crafter was the one who gained the title of the Finest Craftsman of the Republic.

Then, the two discussed several things related to the lesser healing potion.

Though Cyril didn't share the method to create it, the old man learned that the potion can be concocted by any Awakened with good control in their Aura as long as they learned all the steps necessary.

"Alright, I'm grateful that you shared all of this with this old man."

"It's nothing much. But, may I ask if you used the potion for yourself?" He finally asked.

Ulf then stayed silent for a moment before shaking his head.

"You've probably seen my grandson outside, I used my potion to heal his injuries. Though half of it was probably enough, I decided to give him everything just in case his Awakening in the future would be affected. I don't want that to happen."

"Ahh… That makes sense…"

Cyril replied. Though there wasn't any clear proof that past injuries can affect the awakening, there's no problem in believing with that just to make sure that children will take care of their bodies in the future.

"Mhmm… Now, I heard you want to meet me for something that might interest me. Is that right?"

"You're correct, Sir Ulf… Look at this…"

Cyril showed the Goblin's Musket to the old man.

After inspecting it, the man didn't find anything unusual with it.

"It's a poor quality… I don't see anything special."

Ulf said after observing for a while. This confused him for a moment.

Luckily, Cyril didn't make him wait for long as he brought out a paper containing the method on how to fix the Musket.

The old man read the list carefully as signs of astonishment can be seen in his face…

"There's a method to improve the goblin's works? Have you ever tried this method?" Ulf asked with a shocked voice.

Instead of answering, Cyril just smiled mysteriously.

"How was it? Can you do it?" Cyril asked after a while.

"Ugh… With the two methods, the one with the Fairy Crusher is the easiest… Unfortunately, I don't have one yet."

"Oh… So you've heard of it before?"

"Yes… I actually owned one before. However, my apprentice broke it. I haven't found any replacement yet at the moment. Sigh~'

Ulf then explained that his apprentice is now traveling around the country to improve his skills. As for the Fairy Crusher, he had actually forgotten about it already since it wasn't that good in the first place.

He has Rank C and Rank B hammers after all.

"Fine, I'll use the second method. However, I still need to get the materials to keep the Musket's enchantment."

"It's fine, Sir Ulf. You can take your time. In case the Musket was destroyed, I can just purchase more."

"Oh no… In case that happened, allow me to get them myself. I can't let my client who shared such knowledge do that." Ulf said hurriedly.

The two then quickly made a deal about this. The old man also brought out a Paper Artifact to show his sincerity that he wouldn't share the two methods of fixing the goblin techs.

Apparently, the first method that uses Fairy Crusher was too easy but it also has the highest chance of destroying the item in the process.

On the other hand, the last method, or the dismantling method, was similar to giving maintenance to the object.. Though it wouldn't destroy the musket, it might remove the goblin enchantments instead.
