Chapter 64 - Visit

The two other people in the room weren't surprised by Cyril's choice.

Although the Invisibility Orb's ability is also incredibly good, it wouldn't work against Magical Beasts with extremely sensitive noses. Apparently, these creatures like the scent of humans especially the powerful ones.

Aside from that, many of these beasts were even allergic to any traces of Aura coming from an Awakened. So hiding someone's appearance wouldn't really work well in an Arcane World.

At most, this Invisibility Orb would probably be useful here on Earth for various purposes.

"Alright… Then we can just sign these papers so we can talk about your first exploration."

Valerie said as she swiftly completed the paperwork as soon as Cyril signed on them.

"Finally… I want to talk about that as well. So… Miss Valerie, are you going to give him to me?" Captain Arvid asked.

"Ugh… The higher-ups want to test him first. Why are you so excited? There are already four C-Rank in your team. You guys are basically undefeated in all mid-class Arcane World! As long as you don't enter any Vampire World… You have nothing to be afraid of."

Valerie said helplessly.

The first exploration of a new Awakened is very important. The association wanted to make Cyril feel that although Arcane Worlds are dangerous, there would also be a lot of opportunities…

To do this, they would hire a powerful or experienced Explorer to supervise them inside their controlled Arcane World.

"About this… I don't really mind participating to gain some experience. However, would it be possible if you can bring me to a Mid-Class instead of low-class Arcane World?"

Cyril politely asked. He knows that with his current abilities, fighting zombies, goblins, spriggans, and other weak magical creatures were already a piece of cake for him.

He was no longer the previous F-Rank that is too worried that a single swing of an orc's club would break his Aura Protection and kill him in one go.

However, he's the only one who knows this so Arvid and Valerie answered in unison.

"No!"

"All newbies are newbies… It doesn't matter if you are F-Rank or B-Rank… You need to experience these first. Trust me, you will thank us for this someday."

Valerie hurriedly explained. She didn't want Cyril to make such a mistake. It's not easy to have B-Rank Awakened signed up for the Association after all.

She had already seen many arrogant Awakened who are biting off more than they can chew. They all ended up dead or perhaps, crippled and no longer capable of joining any Arcane Exploration.

Though there are a few who survived, those are the cases of geniuses only or those who have been honed by their family of Awakened ever since they were young.

'Haa~ I guess I was too hasty… Never mind it then…'

"Alright, I will listen to your arrangement. I will join the exploration this week." Cyril answered as he also didn't want them to be put in a difficult position.

"That's good… I will tell you the details of the exploration then."

Valerie used about half an hour to explain everything to him. Well, he is being treated as a complete newbie so he didn't mind it at all.

"Finally, do not bring out any objects from that Arcane World without your leader's permission. Whoever is your leader, you have to ask them first about it. There are cases that the Explorers would bring incurable diseases or even worse, a type of curse in our world."

"I understand, Miss Valerie… Don't worry, I will act accordingly during the exploration..." Cyril replied with a smile.

Then, Valerie concluded the conversation after giving the date and time of the exploration.

"You have to arrive two to three hours before the set time. The weapons and other things must be checked before entering… Understand?"

"Got it!"

"Hey… What about me? Cyril, you have to choose my team after your first exploration. Our team is called the Sword Trance! If the Association has ranking lists, we should be in the top 5 at the moment with our current records."

Arvid joined the convention as it seems that he really wanted to take Cyril in his team.

Cyril wryly smiled. He's also unsure whether it's good to join his team.

'Perhaps if I couldn't find a good Arcane World, I can consider joining their exploration team instead.'

Cyril mused.

"I'll think about it. Allow me to decide once my first exploration is over, Captain Arvid."

"Good! Don't join the Phantom Troupe or the Silver Swords… Those teams don't have an approachable leader like me. You'll get bored there." Arvid added.

"I understand…" Cyril could only nod for now.

He is seriously considering this since even though he has abilities to find Entrance Crystals with his Crystal Hunter and Xagan's powers, he doesn't know what kind of world it would have inside.

If these Arcane Worlds weren't useful to him, he'd rather sell them for money and join some team exploration that where Elves, Fairies, or even Dragons can be encountered.

After all, their kings and queens were the only ones who know the location of the Tree of Life.

For the Arcane World owned by the Aeson Company, Cyril is guessing that there isn't a King or Queen present there. They must be a small group of elves who had used the large wooden boat to arrive on that small island to perhaps take shelter instead.

Anyway, he would know for sure once he visited again.

With so many things on hand, Cyril asked Valerie's help to send the Artifacts to his home.

He still needed to meet the Old Crafter for this afternoon and he didn't want to carry so many things with him.

He's already carrying his Goblin's Musket after all.

Cyril then followed the address that Britta had given to him to visit the Old Crafter…

Soon, he saw himself standing in front of an abandoned temple in the mountains of the city!

'Is this the correct address?'

Cyril scratched his head after seeing the closed doors of the temple. Luckily, he met two young kids at the age of seven or eight that were playing with their pet dog.

He asked them if any people is living here…

"Are you looking for grandpa?" One of the kids asked.

"Your grandpa? Right, I think so…" Cyril could only reply. He can tell that no other people are living here after all.

He was then pointed to a small house not too far from the closed temple.. Finally, he could feel someone's aura there.
